Potty training

Is this confusing him?

DS is 22 months and not talking much at all. He sometimes tells me he's done a poo but often not and never tells me about wees.

I bought a potty as a friend suggested its useful to get then used to seeing it, sitting on it etc before you start training.

DS loves it. He can 'wee on demand' when he sits on the pot and is very interested in using lots of loo roll to wipe himself.

Do you think getting him used to weeing 'on demand' is confusing as he isn't telling me he needs to go but he can go when I ask?

Maybe I need a book! Grin

I think that sounds very encouraging and would just keep going with it. It's brilliant that he will pee on the potty but I guess you have to remember to put him on.
If you don't put him on the potty does he still go in his nappy? My only concern would be if he's waiting and holding it in too long.

No I think that's fine. In fact it might be better in some ways as presumably you prompt him regularly, so he's getting into the habit of going as a habit rather than waiting until he is desperate and potentially having an accident :)
