hi there . I am at my wit's end sad My LO turned 2 recently and she has shown signs of being so ready for being potty trained for a good 6 months. Recently we were all very successful with the potty and the toilet( with her toilet seat) for a good 2-3 months. She would also be very keen and responsive in telling us she needed to go . We used a portable foldable seat (from Jojo) to place over the main public toliet ones so that she can sit properly on them and it was working all fine. she actually found it fun and enjoyed visiting practically every chelsea restuarant's loo at one stage!

about 2 weeks ago, we happened to visit a new public toilet that had those super hand driers installed which made a VERY loud terrible noise whenever anyone used it and of course, someone did. It scared the living daylights out of her and she screamed blue murder and clung onto the nanny , and subsequently has refused to even enter a public toilet at all with anyone of us.

we thought it would go away and she would forget and we would slowly try to encourage her again , tricking her, distracting her, entincing her to go into the public toilet with us , however it all got to a head recently when we went away and she just kept wetting herself all over whilst we were out , in the airport, on the plane etc.. it all became a terrible mess. and refused flatly to go in a public toilet. FULL STOP.

she will still go to the toilets herself at home ( or another person's home - if she has time to adjust) but other than that, she will simply hold it in till she no longer can do so and wet herself . this is my dilemma - what do i do then when i am trying to change her out of her mess? - > obviously i would try to go to a public toilet (when out) to remove her wet pants ( we use normal undies and only pull up for night sleeps at the moment) but she will scream and kick and kill anyone of us before she is dragged into the toilet.
This becomes totally unmanagable and totally messy and disgusting if she happens to poo in her pants - which is WORSE STILL! it is very embarrassing for all and I really dont' know what to do. It is so tempting to go back to the nappies but I know we can't - plus she is still going , but just at home.

What can we do? I REALLY hate those super driers with a passion now....

as a result, the stress levels at home are also climbing , DH, nanny , me ... the works.

sad please help.

You need to keep bringing her for a wee before it gets to the stage of her not being able to hold it in anymore.

We occasionally use pull-ups when out & about just in case, but DD knows they are not a nappy and just the same as pants so doesn't wee in them.

I'd get some reusable training pants for when you go out 'just in case' and then as poster above....
