How do you know when DS is ready to potty train?

Just that really! Seems to be such a large age range for when people start training, what made you decide it was time?

He needed his nappy changing less often. He started hiding to do poos. And I finally had some time off after working 7 days for most of the year. He was almost three and it was about bloody time!

We are on day 2 now. I spent time encouraging him to use the potty/toilet for a few months weeks and then yesterday he did a wee and got all excited and so we are sticking too it!

DS (3 in Sep) took it upon himself to move to pants at the weekend! Very successful on the pee front, no accidents at all... poo not so successful, generally in pants, patience patience!
