DS is 2y2m and a little while ago had been showing a bit of interest in sitting on the potty at Grandmas and had been starting to show a few signs of being ready ....so we bought a potty and left it in our bathroom to see where we went.
Over the last couple of weeks we have tried to get him to show a bit of interest in it and gently tried to persuade him to sit on it - both with and without clothes/nappy but he just cries/screams/locks his legs/arches his back etc.
Do I just take it that he is not ready and leave it for the time being? I guess I am a little worried that this could become a real problem later on (and I dont want to push it and make it an issue for him) so it would be useful to hear if others have experienced this - and any advice you can offer.
He is the most chilled out kid I know so this is really unusual behaviour for him. He is also "teeny" - on the 0.4th centile so skipping the potty and going straight to the loo is probably not going to be an option for us for a long term.
