Potty training

I haven't started potty training DS2 yet as he is just not interested at all. However, at bathtime, I always take his nappy off and he runs around for a little while. I try and persuade him to sit on the potty (using chocolate as bribery) but he won't...yet will wee almost as soon as he gets into the bath.

I guess it is either sheer stubbornness or habit. We are all geared up to give him huge praise for weeing in the potty but he is just not interested. When I told him he could have another chocolate biscuit if he weed in the potty rather than the bath, he just said to me 'I don't want one' (what child does not want a chocolate biscuit fgs??)

What can I do to break this? Do I just go cold turkey and get rid of the nappies (I am a believer of waiting until they are ready...DS2 was 3.1 and it was so easy as he just got it straight away)?

To be honest, it doesn't sound like he's ready yet.
All boys wee in the bath. The water seems to stimulate them.
If he is showing no interest at all, I think you should probably wait a couple of months and then try again.

Ruth thanks Smile I guess I was thinking that he is clearly aware of how to control it as I swear he deliberately holds it in until he is in the bath (i.e. sometimes he wanders round himself once his nappy is off and I ask him if he wants to go on the potty and he refuses but will wee the minute he is in the bath).
