Hi I have started potty training my 2 year old and just want some reasurance that its like this for everyone!

We brought DS a potty on monday evening and when we got home he was keen to sit on it, so he sat on there while I read him a story and when he got off he had done a wee. Que much praise and excitement!
Yesterday I kept sitting him on it but he didn't use it and had a couple of accidents on the floor. I immidiatly sat him on the potty after the accidents and asked him to finish on the potty (he was already finished by the time he was on there!) This has continued today each time he has wee'd on the floor I have put him on the potty.

I just wanted to check that this is the way other people have started out their potty training.

Having said all that whilst I was typing that, I told him to go sit on the potty and he shouted to me to go and look that he had done a wee in the potty! :) Grin :) so he must be getting the idea!

Okay have just found DS on the potty attempting to produce a little drible without any direction from me, so he has clearly got the idea of what is required!

I suppose my earlier concern was my usuall problem of 'this is what I want, and I want it NOW!' Grin I guess I need to keep working being patient!

How's it going now? We started yesterday (DS 2.3) and he's done all his wees on the potty so far but only because I've been saying DoYouNeedAWee on repeat every 15 mins and he's spent most of the last 24 hours on the pot!
