what/how to get the smell of wee out of clothes!

i think weve finally cracked it with 2.7ds after about 6 weeks of potty training, he hasnt had an accident since fri i think so hes done fab, when he does have accidents im trying to wash everything within a day but sometimes everything comes out with a faint wee smell, im washing at 40degrees with bold plus softener, any idea how to get rid of the smell or are they ruined forever? thanks

id use the extra rinse setting on your machine if it has is.

Otherwise treat as nappies and do a rinse of wet clothes BEFORE the wash. (then add the non weey clothes and detergent after the rinse)

IME cloth nappies dont smell of wee after washing so am surpised that clothes are smelling of wee

thanks for that, i know its strange, his wee seems really strong but he does drink lots and does tons of wees a day, i could be my extra sensitive nose as im pg at moment?

Ironically sometimes it's a case of washing too much detergent IN rather than not washing the wee out. Don't know if it's a chemical reaction of some kind, but cloth nappies frequently need to be "stripped" to remove detergent build-up because when detergent contacts wee it really stinks! Perhaps try things used for nappy stripping such as a rinse with white distilled vinegar in it.
