Potty training

I'm not sure what to do....

You'd think having potty trained two already that I might know what I'm doing but it's never that easy....

DS turned two earlier this month. I had vaguely had in mind that I'd try potty training in a couple of months time and had even tentatively blocked out a week when I have nothing much on, but suddenly he's super keen and weeing away in the potty on demand (and loving the mini Easter eggs I'm giving him as a reward). My instinct is to ditch the nappies and go for it, but the problem is that I have a lot on over the next month (I'm away for a selection of weddings / hen weekend / 40th birthdays) with various childcare options sorted out between my mother and MIL. The problem is that there is no way my Mother / MIL can cope with a semi potty trained child and accidents - it's a big enough ask looking after a 6, 4 and 2 yr old while DH and I are away.

So if I keep to the nappies, with regular potty trips included, do you think I'm going to miss the window of opportunity in respect of his enthusiasm and willingness?? Dh thinks we should just start potty training proper but I think my mother will have a fit if I disappear off next weekend expecting her to continue the training and leaving her with a little boy who is liable to wee and poo all over her house......
