Breastfeeding

I have been breastfeeding my baby exclusively for 5 and a half months. Baby has continued to gain lots of weight and is thriving. However, I have my 7th case of mastitis! I've been on several lots of antibiotics which have cleared the infection, only for it to return 2/3 weeks later. I have also had a breast ultrasound to check for abcesses and that has come back clear. He breast feeding consultant has watched me feed and said my son's latch it perfect and I've tried every trick under the sun to try and prevent myself from getting it again with no luck. I have decided that I am going to stop breast feeding now, as much as I don't want to as I wanted to reach the magic 6 month milestone. It will also be nice to have a bit more freedom over Christmas. I will really miss it though and if I could carry on I would. Has anyone else had any experiences like this? Does anyone have any advice on weening? Preferably to prevent he mastitis coming back again. Thanks xx
