What's this on my stomach?

Had dc a week ago and have developed some sort of skin complaint since the birth - it's a raised bump sort of rash, very itchy. It's slowly spreading across my stomach.

I asked my MW who gave a very vague answer basically saying it's just a reaction to my skin being stretched and then not anymore. This could be right but she's generally pretty rubbish so I wanted to double check. I didn't get anything like this with dc1.

What's this on my stomach?

Could be a skin infection.
My friend developed a similar rash postnatally. On closer inspection she had one small infected spot/pustule and this had caused a staphylococcal infection. She needed antibiotics.

I suggest you show your GP.

Thank you that's very helpful. I'll make an appt for tomorrow. They do look slightly fluid filled.

Thank you, that also sounds a possibility...I did have a big baby which was a boy, which sounds typical. I'll ask the Gp about both.

Needs a GP as there looks like blisters - midwives aren't medics so definitely check

I'm not a doctor but looks like ringworm. The spreading and itching are classic symptoms. Very contagious so be careful if you are breastfeeding baby without a top covering your tummy.
Please update us when the doctor clarifies what it is Smile

Congratulations on your new arrival Flowers
