Hi, I'm looking for advice on finding a health visitor.
My cousin has recently had a baby, he'll be 4 weeks on Thursday.
She put on Facebook that she's struggling. Obvious cry for help.
I've been messaging her this morning and she's sayings she's given up. She loves the baby but doesn't want him. She's a useless mum and doesn't know what she's doing. Baby constantly cries, she's tried 4 types of milk and he never settles.
She saw a midwife at a 10 day check but other than that no other professional care.
I'm in Scotland and I had the midwife visit me 4 times at home and the health visitor has been every 2 weeks! My 2nd baby is just coming up to 10 weeks. We're in a small village and j think the health visitor is just bored! I'm not bothered, it's nice to have a chat!
My cousin had spoken to her mum who has just told her to get on with it. Her partner thinks she had pnd.
I've googled baby clinics in her area. One came up which is dated Jan-Feb. I've told her to call them and find out if it's still running. Not sure if she will.
Tempted to contact one of her aunts to go and help her but I'm not sure if that's the best idea. She's in an area of England that is likely to have a 4 week wait to see a gp.
