Jaundice, bilirubin level of 536

Not sure if posting in the right place. Just wondering if any one else has experienced this and gone on to have their baby develop normally ?!

Just got out of nicu yesterday after 6 days of treatment for severe jaundice, she responded very quickly to the treatment (under 3 lamps,antibiotics,iv fluids and immunoglobulin) when discharged her levels were 286. The problem was an ABO incompatibility with our blood types and she was dehydrated.

The consultant has warned that we should been aware that such levels of bilirubin in the blood can cause brain damage. Understandably I am out of my mind with worry, and I know only time will tell. Just looking for others who have had LO's with such high levels?

My babies weren't that jaundiced, but have treated lots of babies with billies in the 400s.
