Hi everyone, this is probably TMI but i was wondering if anyone else has any experience with my problem. i am a mom 5months now, and i am still in pain going to the loo, and sex is out of the question, i had a 2nd degree tear, and although the doctor says everything internally is fine, i have quite raw scar tissue around my labia. i am waiting on an appointment for the gyno, but i am very worried as i did not hear of this happening to anyone before. Can anyone share in this experience??

I had this too - I ended up having scar tissue removed around 10 months after I'd had DC1 which helped massively. It was still painful to sit down months after I'd had him (ventouse and episiotomy - on G&A, ouch!) and sex was a distant memory. That's good you've got a gynae appointment, hope they can find out what's causing your pain.

I also had this (4th degree, ventouse) and it turned out to be "granulated" scar tissue that gave a searing, stinging pain. It might help also, to have a good look down there, identify exactly where the pain is and do a drawing with an "x marks the spot" for the gynae. Mine actually took my drawing into the theatre with him Confused but it worked!

ha, i have done that already :) although im not a huge fan of looking down there at all, it looks all over the place now! i am still a little worried that if i had to get scar tissue surgically removed that will somehow make everything even more painful, everything is SO sensitive down there at the moment! i may be being dramatic from severe sleep deprevation though!

Mrs - I worried about that too, as I couldn't imagine how more cutting down there would make it feel better. It really did though - no idea what they did, but the difference was amazing (and we conceived DD a couple of months later Grin . A much easier second labour as well, with no tears or cuts)

I had this - turned out it was granulated scar tissue. I had it burnt off with liquid nitrogen. Didn't fully work the first time, so they had to do it again . Not fun at the time but it worked the second time - all normal now.

Shock Melanie - ouch! I had a lovely light GA as a day patient - was up and about within hours and able to sit down for the first time in months without wincing. Bliss.

Oooh, really glad I clicked on this! I also had ventouse and episiotomy on g&a but it's not where the stitches were that I feel pain. I was wondering whether it was scar tissue and I think I might go to the doctors to discuss this. 6 months pp so I though I would be healed by now.
