Hiya all
decided to join after reading 'mums on pg' fab book and 1 of my many pg 'bibles' last year!
ive got a dd who was born in dec, she's a little darlin but at the mo also a bit of a devil, she's just decided this last week to lead me a right merry dance and refuses her 4pm and 7pm sma feeds! its a constant struggle to get her to even have 100mls...and she used to love it! she will have her 8am feed but still less than she normally has...anyone else having the same prob? at my wits end today

hiya starlover, she used to eat brekky(weetabix) then lunch at 12pm (solids and fromage frais) tea t 4pm(solids,fromage frais) and 3 bottles averaging at least 5/600mls daily but now she wont eat brekky and she seems to take her lunch reluctantly, its weird as she likes what i make usually but she just seems uninterested lately

hmmm strange. i was going to suggest that maybe she was having plenty of solids and thus losing interest in bottle... but maybe not!

my son does this from time to time though. the past few days he's only had about half of each of his bottles... but today he has guzzled 5 down!!!

well im hoping its just a phase,we recently had a hugeee prib with constipation, and after the advice from so called 'health profs' we decided ourselves to try prune juice after trying literally e/thing else, shes been fab with it it works a treat,so i thought maybe that was causing her appetite loss and itd return but nope... daddys just put her to bed after trying an hour (and much screaming the place down)to feed her, well at least she had 130mls!

yeah she'll take it when she is hungry i'm sure.
don't try and force her too much or she may just refuse it even more

Sounds like she's just not hungry to me. Next week she may be hungrier again. My 8.5 month old has a pretty erratic appetite (I'm finding this hard to get used to as his big brother eats us out of house and home and always has done). If she's sleeping at night then you don't have to worry. HVs say they need 15-20 oz milk at this stage but if she just isn't hungry there's nothing you can do. I just try to keep a balance so that he eats some solids and still drinks his milk, and that he gets a range of different foods.

yeh we were told at least 20oz daily, which is a pint but she's not taking a pint daily, some days less, most less at the minute actually, she managed a bottle at teatime 2day after her pasta which was good, just trial and error i spose, being a 1st time mum i worry about everything tho, ive chilled a bit since she was born but im a born worrier anyway!
