Very cute title

Yes, first thing in the morning, when Q comes out to the living room, he points to the tree and says "O" short /o/ sound. We think that means "on" I know it's probably just a weird grunt but he doesn't really say much!

aaaaargh! My cold shit as a shit thing. Ds crying for last hour - nothing working except me holding him, which I can't do all night - already later than I wanted to go to bed.

Will have to try and catch up on rest tomorrow.

Myjob - It has been a while since I ran but once you get past that "oh my god I'm going to die" point, it is fabulous. When I ran I smoked so my cardiovascular system was what always let me down, but after three weeks it was getting easier and easier. The first few weeks are tough but get past that point and it's very rewarding. You do get time to think or totally zone out if that's what you prefer. I used to listen to music if I wasn't in the mood as that helps you focus & gives you energy. Once I'm sorted out I am going to start running again. It's good to supplement it with some muscle training too as building muscle improves your metabolism which has probably taken a battering with your restrictive diet. With the running, try doing interval training to build up your stamina.

csws I hope you get to bed soon. Poor DS and you

DH is out at a poker night tonight thank GOODNESS! He hasn't been out in ages and he seemed excited to go despite previous statements about never wanting to be away from Q. He left an hour 10 min before his bedtime, too . I'm so happy that he's out socializing!
We've been talking more and getting on better lately . He's trying and I'm trying. We have 2 whole weeks off together after next week, though so we'll see how that goes!

This morning the shower screen (glass and folds out - 4 sections) fell (dh hadn't screwed it back in properly after fixing the leak and I knew this but didn't realize it was so loose) ... well, it fell in the tub ON Q I caught most of it before it hit him. It was horrible. I wanted to grab Q but had to grab the glass thing instead to protect him. ugh. He's come out of it with just a cut and a bruise on the top of his foot. Thank goodness. My heart was pounding. DH came rushing in because of Q's scream and crying and the loud crash and picked him up. I felt awful. He was just pushing on it a little bit. Must have been so scary for poor Q! Was so scary for me!

Hurray for your DH going out star! and I'm sure you won't be phoning and texting him to ask when he'll be back....LOL
Glad Q is ok, it's shocking when things like that happen cos if you're like me, your brain goes over what might have happened, even though it didn't IYSWIM

oops, that should have read
" might have happened.."
not " might have happened.."
doh, off to bed.

He got in at 1.30am - was riding his motorcycle so didn't drink, just playing a poker game. I'm not bothered about what time he got back. What I AM bothered by is his "I'm so tired" this morning that when Q got up at 5.30am he went back to bed after 20 min of playing with Q. .
When I go anywhere no matter how early or late I get back, he always gets to go back to bed. I want a lie in just once. I know I shouldn't whinge. I do get to take his nap with him if I want. Problem is, at home he's napping shorter than during the week and I can't fall straight to sleep! It's ok though.

I would whinge about that Star. You're both Q's parents, and you both work hard, so it's only fair that you should both take responsibility for getting up with him in the morning and giving the other a break. Dp and I try to plan it so that we both manage a lie in and get some time to ourselves (sadly mine is often spent doing school work) at the weekend. I think it's only reasonable that we should look out for each other.

Thanks for the new thread 50ft.

CSWS - How are you feeling today?

My face is still sore today. Not as bad as yesterday but still not fun. DS has got his Christmas concert tomorrow afternoon and it's going to be a NIGHTMARE keeping M under control. Pushchairs are banned from the hall so I am going to have to try and keep her on my lap. Hell on earth! Nobody can come with me as everyone is busy (DH is on a course and is gutted that he can't come). Dh has suggested that the MIL could come with me which would be almost as painful as my sinuses but maybe I should be kind. What do you think?

Bring MIL! If she is willing to take M out if necessary and play with her if she is too restless so that you can watch DS.

I doubt Q would sit still in one place fora whole concert... but who knows? Q sat in a highchair in a restaurant for nearly an hour today . I thought for sure he would be all over the place, but he stayed put. Miracle.

She might be so captivated by the music and by seeing her brother on stage that she'll stay put and watch - never know!

Sorry to hear you're still feeling rubbish 50ft. I second Star - take your MIL. She can take M out if she gets restless, leaving you to enjoy the concert. Plus it might be nice for ds to have his nan there if his dad can't be there. What is he doing in the concert, do you know?

Leave M with mil and go to the concert by yourself, so that you can relax properly .

Dd being a shit at bedtimes at the moment. Ds and I still full of cold, although he managed to feed a bit better tonight which is good at least.
Still utterly knackered so apologies for not really managing to keep up with and comment on everything.

Oh and it's a farm, not a zoo star, and the drive should be most reasonable for you, which is why I suggested it .

I discussed the MIL situation with DH and then realised that if I wanted someone who can control M, hold M for a while and placate her then the MIL is NOT the person to take. She can't hold M for more than a couple of minutes, M isn't a fan and M can overpower her in a straight fight. I did wonder about leaving her at home with the MIL like you suggested CSWS, but M isn't a fan & would not be happy about me leaving her. So...... I have warned DS that I might not be able to stay if M is a pickle. There are, however, lots of mums that will be willing to help me with her if she gets too much for me.

Aubergenie - He is a Christmas Cracker and has to tell a 'cracker' joke. It is...... Why has Father Christmas got three gardens? So he can Ho Ho Ho!

Myjob - I feel your pain. Hope you can enjoy your day tomorrow!

CSWS - Do you think she's being a shit because of the big news or Christmas or both?

Big news I suspect, as it's very much since we told her.

sorry, of course it's a farm, not a zoo! Sorry!
I hope you and DS feel better soon, csws. Poor DD I hope she gets back to her happy self soon, too.

50ft - Could your own mom come and babysit M? I know this is silly but when I know I will need to keep Q still a while I bring a stock of food I know he loves... so maybe bring a purse full of humzingers?
