pistachio - the 12-24 will fit him nicely now over cloth, but if you want them to last a long time then you might want the next size up. Why not order some of each - if the bigger ones are too big then he will always grow into them.
I always find that Gap clothes come up tiny.

I'll have to look at the old thread to answer everyone so will do that once the dc are in bed.

M is a bit under the weather today, she has a cough and cold but is generally fine. She has started pointing to her feeding cushion when she wants milk and even pulled it over to me once when DS had been resting on it on the floor. It is sooooo cute! She also said no and shook her head when she had finished her lunch today. We tried it a few times to see if it was a fluke but she did it every time.

I would put money on Q being to first to walk as well, he must be odds on favourite!

Awww sorry myjob - didn't mean to make you feel bad. Have I mentioned before that one of dd's best friends didn't start crawling until she was 15 months?

Awww, star, thanks. I have to admit that despite dd being a complete PITA most of today (she was up for 2 hrs last night and I think its her final teeth coming in) she is at a very cute stage at the moment. Though I think I got a foretaste of what is to come when she decided to throw a complete tantrum over her biscuit breaking in half. She refused to eat it, so Matthew decided he would help himself . Luckily it was dairy free etc!

Myjob, N is using all her energy being cute! But my youngest cousin (whose sister is 3 yrs older than her) just sat and pointed to things to be passed to her, until one day she suddenly stood up in the middle of the room and took some steps . Scared the life out of everyone!

Anyway, must go. Its our wedding anniversary so mustn't spend all evening on mn.... Would definitely be in trouble

Ah, see D still doesn't clap or wave or blow kisses. Clearly N is leaps and bounds ahead! Perhaps they can do a skill swap on Sunday.

Oh, can I come back? I used to be CherryChoc (namechanged for Harry Potter film and liked it... there are lots of cherries on mumsnet) I am sorry I am a bit rubbish at chat threads, I tend to have some times when I am on mn a lot and others not so much. Or I just don't have time to type out a long post which I'm sure you all understand

Ryan has had a bit of a virus over the last few days and the feeding was almost like having a newborn again. Funny how they go off food when they are ill.

As for walking, he seems quite happy cruising though he does walk very confidently holding onto a wooden push along walker which I got him as an early birthday present

There's nothing like cutting people out of the stats to make them come crawling out of the woodwork .

Hehe CSWS I have no idea what is up with him, I offered him scrambled eggs and tomato today and he tasted the tomato and then screamed as though it had burnt him or something. I managed to get nearly a whole yoghurt into him before he had his bath but he just kept throwing the spoon on the floor and refusing to be fed. The bath has knocked him out though We have a birthday party tomorrow, his cousin is 2!

Hey all. I finally heard Poppy say "Bye bye" whilst waving today , seems DH is getting all the "firsts" to himself. Well, except first torn bits, first incredibly sore nipples etc etc...

Her development just over the past week has been amazing, DH and I were just discussing how stupidly excited we get whenever she does a new thing!!

We took her on a Bob the Builder car thingy that you put 50p into [someone help me out with the name here FFS!???] for first time today, also took her on a merry-go-round which she wasn't that impressed by and through a metal tunnel on a playground construction thing [???] with DH and I on either side, the metal tunnel was definitely the winner. Altho she kept going just out of reach of one of us then turning back etc etc so I had to climb on the blardy thing!

We've "converted" the box for our new carseat into a tunnel in the lounge for her (by ingeniously putting it on its side and opening both ends) and she rather likes that.

Had lunch in Frankie and Benny's, Pops had some garlic bread and some potato skins, both of which went down a treat. Do any of you worry about salt in things like that or just treat it as a one-off?

Welcome back CherryChoc/ Bertie, I hope your DS feels better soon.

Happy anniversary Ekka/ CSWS!

Thanks for the tips all re the buggies.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. Night all!

[God, that was a boring post - sorry everyone!]

Morning all! Woo hoo Warwick tomorrow!

Re the car seat discussion, we swapped Poppy back to her old seat because she's still within the weight limit and the top of her head is only just on line with the top of the seat. HOwever, the seatbelt straps at the top now have to come up to go over her shoulder which I don't think is a good thing. Should we go back to the new seat?

I'm off to get brekkie, laters!

Oh, are you meeting up in Warwick tomorrow? Any chance I could tag along? Sorry to be cheeky!

Honeymoon, in rearfacing seats it is better to have the straps coming up and over the shoulders, because they are meant to stop any upwards movement in a crash - so that sounds fine. It is in forward facing seats they are meant to come down and over the shoulders from above, because that pins them to the seat more. Ryan is still in his rearfacing seat but we are getting the kiddy infinity pro - I have managed to persuade DP, he is not too happy because we bought a Britax First Class months ago and can't return it now even though it is unused. I don't suppose anyone wants to buy one cheaply?

About the salt yes we don't really worry as it tends to be a one-off. The same with when my mum comes round and feeds him ginger cake!! Though I did make sure it didn't contain honey.
