wobbly, moi?

speaking of mucky finger prints, we had them all over our kitchen this morning. friends who came to dinner brought their fifteen month old with them - she proceeded to point out all of the babyproofing hot spots in our house. she had a particularly good nose for old bits of cat food the mucky bastards cats manage to spread everywhere, it seems . utterly adorable little girl, though, and seemed to survive the cat food pretty well

Just saw the pics of Nye and Zach of FB awwwww...I could eat them both

Have read the last thread but it has all fallen out of my head! Tree Glad you got somewhere with the docs, hope both DDs are better, you seem to have had a run of illness/hospital visits lately.

Elki DD and \ds ar ein the same room and it works out really well. DD has always been a good sleeper and seems to sleep through DS's wakings and entertains him in the morning if they are up early.

Jude got a referral to the Paed but not until 15th Sept, which seems ages away. Doc seems to think that it can hopefully be sorted out with Physio and worst case scenario a small op. My SIL is an Osteo so going to get the ball rolling and get some advice off her too.

DD still swinging between devil and angel child, loving the beach and the sunshine though. Having a lovely time in Jersey, making me long to be living by the sea again, DH and I have decided to start making serious plans to get out of London and get back to Asia for a stint by 2012...better get working! The kids have so much freedom running around here compared to inner London adn it makes me feel guilty as though they are missing out on actually being children. I grew up in the country, and although it wasn't so great as a teenager it was brilliant as a small child. In Hackney I wouldn't even let DD walk to the shop (which is 5 metres from our house)by herself 5 years from now.

Lenni Great thread title!

Right, off to get some sunshine. Have a good weekend everyone x

Morning everyone - yey for new thread, nice title Lenni

N asleep with his Daddy so have attempted a bit of a catch up. Sorry to hear you've been feeling crappy kitty but really glad you came on here and got some support -also had no idea you went thru similar dog CC (or any sort of version of it) certainly seems to work really well for friends of mine, so if you think you can deal with it, go for it. My worry is that if you are already feeling emotionally fragile, it might upset you more. Another thing you could consider, at the opposite end of the spectrum, is co-sleeping (proper cuddled-up co-sleeping where you give up all idea of seperateness, not just sidecar). You both might sleep better that way. I think in a way the really important thing is to decide what your style is, what you will feel happy with, and then stick with it - really listen to your heart and stay away from all the books and experts . And glad you are getting referral.

Tink glad you are still single-handedly keeping the economy afloat - tesco baby stuff is great.

tree What a horrific night for you, J and H - can hardly bear the thought of you three wandering around some city centre looking for provisions and camping out at some hotel. Hope you can have some snuggly duvet time together today. That's my dream for when N is a toddler - to cuddle up in bed on a rainy afternoon and watch movies like Sound of Music together. , maybe I should have had a girl!

Lenni what a shame you couldn't come yesterday - we had such a nice day. Come next time. It was a great place to meet, fab play area and lots of nice animals outside to look at. Thanks for your ergo explanation again, by the way - I realised my chest straps were way too low so I couldn't reach them behind me - it was your description of 'do it up like a necklace' that gave me my eureka moment.

pat not a brilliant auction this time, but left some joke bids on some cute little white bookcases and a BBQ, and a serious bid on a lovely painting of a horse on silk. Fingers crossed!

stripey We must def meet next time you are here. C looks like she would hold her own against our louts boys.

hkz lovely thought of you on the beach - sounds like you are having a great time. Is DH with you? V of families holidaying together as it feels like ages since DH has even spent a whole day with us - August is his busiest time, and I shouldn't complain as the summer keeps us going for the rest of the year ££-wise but I miss him .

Waves to eppm, ray, elkie, books, gumps/qumps and everyone else.

Hello! Am here. Been out at football today - FIL has a box and we go every match with the DCs and PILs, is a nice treat but they lost so DH grumpy now. Yummy food though.

On way home DH and I ran into Sainsburys to get supplies for a picnic on day out with baby friends tomorrow and DS ate part of the bread bag. He gagged on it, choked a bit and then as I was trying to rescue it he swallowed it. Massive panic and calls to NHS direct later it turns out he will probably be fine but got to keep a close eye on him and if not out the other end by middle of next week we have to get him to docs. Frightened the bejesus out of me though.

MissJ glad you can work Ergo now. I love mine. I will definately make the effort to come visit soon, am dying to meet you and Nye - he sounds very like Dylan, and Zach and Sparkle's DS too. Would love to say I could make Tuesday Pat but my Mum here so unfortunately can't make it.

Dog Fire station thing sounds good - I am a little unhealthily obsessed with car safety, would have found that fascinating. Don't worry about Arlo, he is going to be just fine. Most important thing is he has a caring family around him, he'll not be ignored either - how could you ignore Arlo? He's a star. Very about the girl you met today - often I think people just don't know how to handle those kind of situations.

Hey all,

Not around yesterday as we had to leave fairly early to get to my cousins BBQ/engagement party in Portsmouth. We were meant to be there at 12.30 but didn't get there till 1.45pm as had the journey from hell! DD was sick first thing and then seemed fine (perky, no temp, not tired or ill in any other way) and still wanted to go. So we decided if she wasn't sick by 10.30 we would just put down to an anomaly and still go. So you can guess that the car made her really sick and she puked twice on the way down. Zach also did a poo just outside Winchester and cried for about 45 minutes. Then we hit awful traffic on the M3. DH and I had a row and we were all by the time we got there!
Lovely party though, all family together and DD was absolutely fine whilst there, running around playing with her cousins. We didn't want her to eat but later on she had bread and crisps and bland stuff as really hungry. Way back less eventful but 10 minutes from home she woke up and vommed again (contained some cheese she had snaffled.....boak!). She was then fine again, got up at 8am this morning and got in with me for a cuddle and went back to sleep till 9.30am...wonderful . She is perky and bright this morning, tis so strange!

tink How weird about Bracken's tooth, get her chewing on some bread crust, Z loves that!

Lenni hope DS ok this morning, any plastic bits in nappy yet! How scary for you.

Dog Fire station day sounds fun and bread and fish stew sounds great (hope it was a diet version). How about that lovely girl, a good friend of mine has a DD with Downs who is 16 and I find that lots of adults feel uncomfortable in her presence and just end up ignoring her as her speech is tricky to understand. So because she is an absolute sweetheart, who loves DD and DS to death!

HKZ Your beach hols sound idllyic, hope you are all having a great time. DD burning off lots of energy! Good news about DS that its not too serious, although an operation will be scary for you all however large it is. How exciting about your plans for abroad again, I do agree with you that although small towns are boring for teenagers they are perfect places for younger children. London is fab in all that it has going on for kids but there is a kind of claustrophobic feeling that I get there if we stay there for a few days. Mind you, even in the depths of the cotswolds, I get terribly homesick for living by the sea sometimes, miss the sea breeze on hot days but a few weeks at my mums a year really sorts that out!

MissJ Shame about the auction, hope ytou get your lovely painting next time! Nye picked up any crawling tips on friday???

Must go and have a bath, 2 birthday parties today.........feel very tired in advance

Pat - sorry to hear of your travelling troubles. Sounds like us evertime we try to go shopping!

Lenni - OOooh awful about the plastic, hope it passes through ok. You must have felt sick, poor you.

Hi Tink - any sign of the tooth??????

Dog - feel sorry for the girl too. Imagine never being heard or listened too. DS will never be in this situation because a) his speech will come and b) even if it didn't or something happened to him, or any of all our dc's, to take their speech or any of the senses away we would arm ourselves and help them. They would always be listened too.

Kitty - sorry for your tough time,, but well sone on seeking help. Now you carry on the road away from those times.

HKZ - sorry ds may need an op. But great plans for a move away for a time. I would give quite a bit to leave the seaside and head for London, maybe should life swap with someone
We will move from here by the time dc's are teeneagers for sure. There is very limited scope and role models around here. I crave multicultural, 25 hr culture, vibrant living, and would suck up the downsides too. Those downsides exist here, but without the perks!

Won't go throught all I missed - there's too much!

DD1 and Daddy are at the VW show in Leeds. They have bought this complete with wood sides to the rear, back rest and UV canopy. DD was last heard of being pulled about in it eating a jacket spud
They camped overnight.
I've always wanted something like this. I make excuses not to go to the beach as it's always a hike form the car and if she needs a wee we have to pack up [wouldn't trust our beaches at all] I'll be able to sling everything in this [Harriet invluded] and trundle off.
Will be ace for festivals too.
Justified it by thinking that money saved in drinks and snacks can now haul about.
