SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 10:08:29

my blush

madameovary Sun 24-May-09 10:29:11

Wow sal that was impressive!grin
Hi Everyone, hope you are all well!
I am determined to keep up this time!
Ellis now has teeth, the last two are taking AGES to come through and bringing the associated snotty nose and nappy rash but nothing too bad.
Not walking yet but speed crawling like mad and constantly pulling herself up - usually on my trouser legs!

Aw great pics Sal - what a cutie! What is the sling you are using? I still have my Hugabub but not sure my back is up to it!

SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 11:23:34

It's an Ergo. Brilliant, I'd highly recommend it. here. My online order (from freerange kids, i think) somehow got lost (they were having it problems), and then I found one discounted in John Lewis! They didn't list it on their website, so perhaps they're not stocking it anymore and I lucked out. This was in the search to get a carrier for our Peru holiday, and it is supposed to be one of the soft carriers that is best for your back.

After some advice from Denny and testing, we decided to take a hard framed one for the holiday though, as we'll be walking for long periods. Love the Ergo for around London though - and brilliant for shopping etc.

madameovary Sun 24-May-09 11:32:06

Great, will check it out - thanks! smile

SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 11:39:16

Pleasure. I never got to grips with proper wrap ones, too complicated for me... blush

EllieG Sun 24-May-09 16:35:27

Sorry I've been so crap lately, I feel like I've barely spoken to people recently and I miss you all.....

Have had 2 nights of OK sleep so no longer a zombie, which is great! Not drawing any conclusions though, cos every time I do that, we have WEEKS of No Sleep, just to punish me.

Walking baby is doing well, we bought her first pair of shoes yesterday! She hasn't actually worn them yet, as is so warm today we're all barefoot, they are more for going outside in the nursery garden.

How are you all? OK?

SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 16:46:10

hey ellie!

Doing well here, and loving both the weekend and sunshine. even though it's still sunday here and technically the weekend therefore no longer than previous ones, i already feel more rested! all in the mind, i know!

we built roelof's swing yesterday (well, by built i mean put it together - it's a tiny one, not like we're master playground erector-people...) Hmm, that sounds wrong. I'm in a good mood, so just ignore 98.7% of what I say. Aaaaaanyway, he loved swinging outside. Such a rough little boy, he kept wanting to go higher and higher! Getting myself mentally prepared for lots of bloody knees and knocked out teeth in the next couple of years...

Uhm, you all love me dearly and will gang up with me against anyone else, right??? Right?! wink My neighbour congratulated me yesterday on the new baby!!! [need a rolling-on-floor-laughing-whilst-being-slightly-embarrassed emoticon]
Well, that's it then I suppose. Will do the damn diet. From Tuesday. Until then I'm planning to eat lots of candy floss from the fair across the heath. grin

madameovary Sun 24-May-09 17:20:25

Ellie I hear you! Slept quite well last night, what a difference!
Sal, I hope said neighbour was suitably mortified!

SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 17:29:09

Nope, she's a bit, well, let's just say tact isn't her strong point! Then again, except for the actual bump itself, I am a size bigger than I was when pregnant (I actually lost weight when pregnant with R - consider doing it again as an alternative to Slimming World wink), so guess I can't be too cross. Hey ho.

VictorianSqualor Sun 24-May-09 18:35:01

I had someone say that to me too Sal. When I stropped about it DP said 'Well, that's because you're not fat everywhere, your arms and legs and that are a lovely size so it's only your belly. Surely that's a good thing' hmm

SalLikesCoffee Sun 24-May-09 19:16:11

No, VS! Well, at least he meant well, I guess. You do wonder what on earth someone was thinking - I'd never say that to someone, even if it's highly likely that they are and they're walking around with a midwife on speed dial! As it is, I'm too afraid to offer my seat on the train to someone that might be in case they're not!

SalLikesCoffee Mon 25-May-09 14:45:44

Soph, where are you? I've been looking forward to speaking to you today! [sulks]

Where ARE everyone??

I've just put some bread in the oven, and can smell it already. Hmm, warm bread, butter... (No wonder I'm being mistaken for pregnant!)

Soph73 Mon 25-May-09 16:37:18

Afternoon all. Sorry about that Sal but I've actually had work to do today (not bank hol here) and now my computer has decided to die on me so am using another. Thankfully nearly home time. Great neighbour you've got by the way wink Then again, what I'm wearing today makes me look pregnant <<sigh>> I keep meaning to start a healthy eating plan, but to no avail. DH made bread for the first time this weekend. Was OK, little bit more practice needed still though Don't tell him I said that blush

SalLikesCoffee Mon 25-May-09 17:15:48

hey soph! how dare your computer?! ;)

How nice of dh to make bread! He'll just have to keep on practicing until he gets it right... wink

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I really really really don't. No reason whatsoever, just don't. Mind you, I don't want to do anything worthwhile at home either - I just want to do nothing and lie in bed for hours...

EllieG Mon 25-May-09 20:19:59

'Lo everyone

Grrr at your neighbour sal - go and trample on his flowerbeds or something. Or I will do it for you if you like?

My story like that is worse - at a wedding last summer, feeling quite good, actually, in my pretty new empire line maxi til BAM - at champagne time, man I had been gently flirting with sat next to me says, 'But you shouldn't have any of that, you're pregnant!' Cue me (as was rather tipsy) running to DH in tears 'Rooooobbbb that man was meeeeaaann to meeee!!'
While man looks horrified and spends rest of evening hiding from the mad fat lady.

And the moral of the story is, only wear a maxi dress when you are slimmer. Or if you must wear one, have really big pants on underneath.

I am like the Very Hungry Caterpiller this weekend -
On friday I ate lots of garlic bread and pizza and wine
On saturday I ate sausage sandwiches and cake
And on sunday I ate chocolate

I feel like I need a nice green leaf today

SalLikesCoffee Mon 25-May-09 20:27:46

Ellie, that made me laugh!!! Sorry. But hahahaha. grin Stupid man, though, hope he fell over later or something!

My weekend's been similar to yours - Friday night was pizza, Saturday mostly candyfloss, Sunday Indian take-away and today...
bread and baked sweet potatoes!!!
I made bread as was too lazy to go to shop, and put a couple of sweet potatoes in foil in at the same time to bake for Roelof. Weeeeeelll, it tasted so nice that I ate two myself!

What a weird food weekend, I'm sure some nutritionist is crying right now.

From tomorrow I'll try to be good.

EllieG Mon 25-May-09 20:44:19

Me too. Though I do say that after every weekend.

SalLikesCoffee Mon 25-May-09 20:50:13

Thing is, in less than a month we're in Peru, walking for hours, taking turns carrying Roelof for hours / possibly up loads of steep steps etc, at high altitude... and I struggle getting up our own hill at the moment!! So I have to get a little fitter in three weeks - might as well combine it with less cake!

Funny thing of the moment - Roelof has taken over the cat basket! We've taken the cover off, and he refuses to sit anywhere else! Funny little boy (and poor cats!)

EllieG Mon 25-May-09 20:57:26

Oh bless him, picture please!

How long are you off for sal? We will miss you!
Are you back when I come over to London?

Bastard, bastard bloody flybe trying to charge me for ever little tiny thing grrrr

Trying to book some flights for DH to go home see his Dad cos he's going in to hospital and will need a bit of care when he comes out and bloody flybe charge for EVERYTHING and do it sneakily too

DH is away when I am supposed to be doing the race for life. Unless my Mum or Dad will babysit it looks like I will be walking it with the kids then, rather than running it. I don't mind, but I am a sad cos I kinda was psyched up for it IWKWIM?
