Star - for butter you want either Vitalite or Pure. Every supermarket I've been to has one or the other.

Phew! Made it to the new thread!

Midwife in hospital told us she couldnt do bath demo until an hour after she's feeding. Its the main reason she's so grumpy at bathtime, that hour is hard work!!!

Star ? I made that cake yesterday too! It?s yum isn?t it? I like the fact that there are no eggs/dairy in it but doesn?t taste too ?worthy? if you know what I mean.

CSWS ? I?d say ds sleeps around 12 ? 14 hours a day. Most of that is at night at the moment as naps tend to be very short. He?s averaging 3 half-hour naps per day at the moment unless I?m out and about with the buggy or sling in which case he?ll sleep a bit longer. At night he tends to wake every 3 hours for a feed.

He is very grizzly at the moment, red cheeks and very dribbly. I?ve noticed that his poo is quite mucousy which I?m assuming is because he?s swallowing so much saliva. He had his jabs last week as well, so I don?t know if he?s unsettled because of that, or if it?s his teeth.

Myjob ? how are you and dd today?

I've just noticed I have vomit on my shoulder

Report

Honeymoon, I have a permanent splodge of vomit on my shoulder. Mmm attractive. Dp gave me a hug the other day and said I smelt of Stanley. What he actually meant was that I smelt of sick.

Ha ha Aubergenie, who says romance is dead??? What's a hug anyway???

God there's a lot of names on that list I don't recognise...

Hello! I thought we'd need a new one soon! Aubergenie - Stanley! FANTASTIC name!

Honeymoon - I have crusty bogies on my right boob because Martha has a horrible cold and wiped her nose on me when I was cuddling her.

My poor DS went to a party on Saturday and they had a face painter. He was painted as a tiger and now has burn makes all over his face from the black paint! He is usually ok with face paints so heaven knows what they put on him! He had a bath as soon as he got home but the damage must have been done. He looks like he's been branded.

Hello! oooh shiny new thread.
Snowing here again this morning - will we be housebound forever???
The DS's are beginning to get cabin fever with school and preschool closed - we have a friend coming to play this afternoon but I wouldn't be at all surprised if she didn't want to drive here.

4andnotout · 03/02/2009 12:10

Morning all

No snow left here now I really wanted to be snowed in! Not as much as dp wanted it though He wanted a love-in

Tilly-Grace is very unsettled today, have just given her some calpol but she is dribbling and chewing her fist and hates being away from me today.

DD3 is tired now after eating her lunch and is sitting stroking my hair, hoping she will have an afternoon nap, so i can!

Myjob - I meant to say yesterday... N would not be sleeping as long as she does if she was hungry. She must have a big full tummy from all that lovely breast milk.

Maybe she's getting revenge from you sticking your nipple up her nose MM

Good news MyJob, are you gonna contact HV?

honeymoon - I bathe Q at about the same time every night but he feeds whenever, so sometimes it's right after a feed.... I think the warm water helps him wind better. It's never harmed him. go ahead and bath whenever you want! Silly to wait an hour imo.
Yay Myjob!!

ok had sex this snow day afternoon during ds nap. hurt like crazy and had actual flashbacks of dh holding my arms down in hospital while a random doctor shoved hands inside me as I screamed repeatedly for him to "make it stop because it hurts!!" was horrible. totally devestated. dh has no idea how horrible. I took a walk outside alone after and cried. I hate sex now. I think our marriage is doomed sorry to be so dramatic. I feel like things will never be the same again.

Report
Marthasmama · 03/02/2009 18:24

Star - Oh dear me! That sounds horrible for you! Do you feel like you can't talk to DH about it? Why was he holding your arms down in hospital? I imagine that would have been pretty tramatic for you. You need to talk to somebody, it sounds like you need to work through the horrible bits of DS's birth.

I can't imagine what that was like for you. With DS I was drugged out of my head and with DD I had an elective c-section. Try not to worry that your marriage is doomed, there is a lot you can do to help yourself. Birth can be such an ordeal and you're probably suffering some sort of post tramatic sress!

Report
Marthasmama · 03/02/2009 18:25

I mean traumatic, I have a cold again so my brain's broken.

Honeymoonmummy · 03/02/2009 19:20

Sorry to hear that Star, I would echo MM's words but also say that I remember not so long ago you couldn't even contemplate doing it again so look how far you've already come. It'll get better again, it might just take time.

Oh star sweetheart . I can't think of anything helpful to add, so can I just echo what the other eloquent ladies have already said.
(We still haven't had sex yet, but only through lack of opportunity. Had forgotten all about it tbh ).

Dd sick again tonight, all over her new duvet cover and pillowcase, which arrived today along with her matching shutters. She was really upset by it, and wanted her nighty and her butterfly duvet back .

I am now also ill. It seems that dd and I are sharing a D&V bug - she has the V and I have the D. Am peckish now, but daren't eat, as I haven't stopped going to the loo since dinner (skipped lunch).

pistachio - have heard of a few children going hyper with medised - I guess yours is one of those.

Glad that things are better in the myjob household.

Oh dear, dd crying in bed again - better go in case she's been sick yet again.
