You x-posted with me you hun you!

so i cut and pasted my last post and then posted it there by mistake

here it is

Dooby - askingn ambulance transport to pay for a cab is like asking Pete Doherty not to drink the beer you've left next to him. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Planning the journeys is a very difficult task I'll concede - but what a patient has to go through to get their free ride is scarcely creditable - hours (literally) going round villages etc and the same on your way home. That's assuming tehy turn up on time to take you home. Patients finishing dialysis wait the same amount of time as everyone else - sometimes the driver is there waiting, sometimes they're 30 minutes late and sometimes (not too often) they don't turn up at all. If there's a cab to be called it's usually me and my budget doing it!

CallMeHunAtYourPeril · 06/01/2009 22:16

I get my petrol paid so I'm usually quite happy, just when I really need it there's bugger all help.

It's more the getting home that's the problem, I'm free all day so can go whenever, but my appt is at 3 and I need to be home to do bedtime at 6.

I wouldn't ask J's dad, we're not great friends and stress makes my condition much worse. The childminder is going to keep him until I get back - she's a diamond!

M is going to his dad's. His dad had one job - to check his parents could collect M on thursday. Just had to ring him cos he'd fallen asleep without thinking to call and say it ws ok . I think I shouted something down the phone about being a sodding idiot who had no idea just how scary and stressful all this is for me

And I've just typed all this on the old thread so will now cut and paste on new one instead!

If there was a public transport route I'd take that - but the sodding hospital is a non-A&E one so has no bus route going to it. There is a bus route from Cambridge to the village the hospital is in but it runs about twice a day! The bus (if there was one after my appt) would then get me into the city too late for me to get a bus or train back to my nearest town and then get the last bus back to my village (which leaves town at 5.40!)

Night All

Hello Elkie (because you always appear just after I log off!)

If I'm not on tomorrow it's because I'm whacked, likewise for the forseeable future, but I will make sure I let you know what happens Thursday if I'm not back before.

Late night post again, just to bookmark the thread. I'm not due until 26 January so don't hold your breath. Oooggs is due on the 30th but will probably beat me to it. The January 2009 antenatal thread had 9 babies born last month but we're still awaiting the first Jan arrival who's due this month (though I think there have been a couple due other months since New Year - EffiePerine and TinkerbellesMum - a baby due in February whose mum never expected to carry this one so long due to previous history, so it's good news that this one arrived so safe and well and close to term).

I wish I could think of helpful suggestions CMH, but I have none - coping with narcolepsy and 2 little boys on your own sounds like a very hard situation.

I've now finished work, so may or may not be around more (depends on how much I sleep at night or otherwise).

Morning all!

Elkie - wow literally counting the days down now!

CMHAYP - So sorry you are having such a crap time. I would offer to help with the transport, but have an appointment myself that day at 4.30...... nothing as serious as yours, but would mean a long wait if I had to cancel, plus I haven't a clue who would look after my dc........ I can look after J if that is still a problem though xx

Morning

DCMH. so sorry you are having such a bad time of things. Not sure what to suggest either, but I am thinking about you. x

NL, hope B is better at nursery. K moved to Toddlers yesterday - her first time back at nursery after the xmas break - and she was luckily ok. She looked a bit sad , and so small!!

Mum is doing ok thanks. She had a CT scan yesterday and we will find out the results next Tuesday, ie to seee if the cancer has spread anywhere else. Keep your fingers crossed!

Leaky, poor G and the CP; I have to agree though, it is better to get it out of the way before they are aware of the spots too much!

Elkie, can't believe it is only a matter of weeks before number 2

Dooby, good to see you

Hope everyone is ok - need to head. x

Boo!

Knackered and snotty here, but ok. I am now the proud owner of a masterful Badger Calender

I wish there was more I could say to make things easier / better for you E ... I am just sorry you are having to go through this. You should have way more help and support than you are currently being given - both for you and for the welfare of your precious boys. You are an amazing mum and you do such a wonderful job with them. You should be helped. You deserve to be helped and it makes me so that all this needs to be so difficult for you. Please please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. You know that I will. xxxx

FWIW .....

Oooggs 15th Jan

Elkie - 30th Jan

That's my tuppenceworth!

Well thought baby was coming this morning full on contractions in Sainsburys and then at the petrol station I could hardly move

Had to stand still to wait for pain to pass. Well made it home and have had a lie down - just some twinges left.

15th sounds good to me

ARRRRRRRGH! I've got spots on my back and abdomen. Can't be chickenpox had them when I was 9 bur could be shingles or a viral rash. Going to se GP at 4.40. was there at 9.20 with spotty little man this morning.

Thank goodness for my mam being here. Have a horrid feeling I won't be going to Rome on Saturday.

Sorry for self-centred rant.

CMHAYP - It's such a horrid situation that you're in. Hope you get something organised for your appointment.

My guesstimates for January babies:

Oooggs - 10th Jan
Elkie - 28th Jan

I think Oooggs' baby will be here on 09/01/09! Or 01/02/09.

Elkie - hmmmmm - 27/01/09? 18/01/09? 05/02/09?

Not that I'm hedging my bets!

Leaky - hope it's nothing and you can still go away

Dippy - I think you should be clear that's antenatal you're booking for others not attending yourself! Unless there's something you'd like to tell us....

the baby date guessing has lured me back

oooggs 12th Jan
elkie 26th Jan

Shall we guess the weight too?

I reckon oooggs' will be 8lbs10oz and elkie 8lbs2oz

Sorry to hear of your troubles hun hope they are able to help tomorrow

leaky, i'm sure you've gone off to the docs now, so i'll ask how it went?

erm, sorry can't remember anything else as usual

dd is all kitted out for school. I bought sew in labels for all her things (I had them as a child) and spent about 3 hours sewing them all in then I had to write her name on a few things and went and spelt it wrong on her bloody pe bag such a muppet. If I explained what I did it does make sense i wasn't just being stupid!

actually, she does need plimsoles. For some reason the 10's I bought don't fit even though she's a 10 must be labelled wrong

ds seems to be getting all his teeth one after the other, erm how many is there now, he had 9 before christmas and 2 more are through the gum and his chomping on his dummy alot in a place without anything so another must be lurking. Can't wait til they're all through

someone at work got made redundant this week boss was reassuring that it won't be the start of lots of people going, more that I think we were overstaffed anyway we'll see.

DH has manflu he was really annoyed at having to be off sick at the start of a new year, especially this year with the threat or redundancies everywhere, especially his trade(plumbing merchant so construction based really) but did I tell you that he's been accepted onto the management course? So we're hoping that gives him a little more security

totally random thought but I ned a haircut, I'm fairly sure my last cut was soon after ds was born I'd love to change style but am a complete wuss I was looking at gm's photos on fb and thought she looked lovely, would love to be able to get a cut like that but apart from being a wuss i don't think it'd suit me

sorry waffling on! I don't know, i don't post for ages and then I hammer you eyes with allsorts of rubbish

LOL Eddas! While on the subject of school uniform (or "School Unicorn" as DD1 calls it ) DD1 has lost her cardigan already - groan ... hope it turns up sooooooooon.

If we are guessing weights, I'll go for ....

Oooggs - 9lb 10oz. ( - Sorry! )

Elkie - 7lb 14oz.
