Lochia still bright red 5 weeks since birth

Never need to change pad more than twice in a 24 hour period, but never have since day 2.

No smell or clots (a few little grey bits last week that I know to be placenta material).

No temperature.

Can I get away with NOT going to the GP and NOT taking ABs?

Mine was like that, never stopped being bright red but just got progressively more watery IYSWIM and lessened in quantity until it stopped. Took about 6-7 weeks in all to go away, and even then had a little every few of days for a bit. It sounds normal to me but then I have only hadone child.

Bright red usually means that you are doing too much, have you been overdoing things?

'overdoing things' really doesn't sound like me, but I DO have a 22month old as well as a 5 week old and no family or close friends near me

Can't for the life of me thing wot I could cut out since house is a tip and bin living on takeaways.

It WILL go eventually?

It is the same amount as after the birth, but that was minimal iykwim.

I don't see how that works, Five, unless you are actually having a haemhorrage, why would physical exertion make you bleed more lochia? I don't know much about this subject tbh, just mine was always like that and I never thought anything of it.

Did you tear during the birth? (and not have stitches) I did and that increased the amount of bleeding - told it was not really lochia but a fluid from the tear - not exactly a bleeding wound, but blood from a healing cut. That's why I'm still wearing pads nearly five weeks on.

That probabluy isn't your situation, but thought i'd suggest it.

I had 2nd degree tear, and most but not all was stitched.

Hmm. you might have something!

I had a 3rd degree tear (was stitched though) so there may be something in this.
