QuintessentialShadows Sun 20-Jul-08 00:55:40

Yes I am. You?

lexilex Sun 20-Jul-08 00:58:00

PillockOfTheCommunity Sun 20-Jul-08 00:59:41

yes, just trying to work out if you're on my friends list QS!

I know Lexi, but I'm older in spirit grin

(I think it's the 'as old as the woman you feel' in reverse wink)

leakyR Sun 20-Jul-08 08:28:51

Gooood Morning!

LOL at title POTC. Especially as dh and once managed to collapse a with tent with "WSBA" when we first got together grinWe now have a bigger tent and a 15 month old to put paid to those kind of shenanigans.

The sky is blue so I might not get wet this morning. Yay!

Sexonlegs Sun 20-Jul-08 08:43:32

Morning.

Leaky, good luck with the RFL

POTC/QS, great title

I am pissed off/stressed. K has woken up with a really high temp - again. She is not herself at all. Have given her nurofen and she has gone back to sleep.

She was like this 3 weeks ago. She can't possibly have yet another virus fgs. Surely having been at nursery for 7 months would have given her some resistance. No-one else seems poorly there.

This is probably pay-back for the fact I never breastfed

elkiedee Sun 20-Jul-08 08:53:14

Funny thread title.

Morning SOL, sorry to hear K is poorly again. But I really don't think it can just be about feeding methods - babies' health on here seems to be more about luck, or bad luck, than anything.

D's helping his grandmother to walk his Uncle Scruff (my joke as my mum's dh treats the dog like his precious youngest baby). I've sent dp back to bed, and my brother and his dp aren't up yet. So all very quiet.

Hi QS if you're still with us.

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 08:58:44

Morning everyone
GOOD LUCK leaky!
oooggs, glad you have told everyone, lol at James worrying about your limited choice in names
Morning SOL, I'm so sorry K is ill again Hopefully it will be nothing as T's seems to have been (keeping my fingers crossed). Hope she wakes up chirpy and cooler. Couldn't ignore your last bit, hope you're not really worried about that sort of thing, if you are serious then I don't think bf offers any protection against that sort of thing (I think they are less likely to be admitted because of D&V) - it certainly doesn't seem to be helping much with T!
lexi, how are you doing this morning?

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 08:59:58

Morning elkie
Have been meaning to ask you how your nights are with D generally now?

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 09:24:25

i have offended you all off blush knew that was a mistake
right, off to cut T's talons as i'm seriously worried his shoes don't fit!

QuintessentialShadows Sun 20-Jul-08 09:28:50

Good Morning!
I am off on my camping trip.
Sorry I just stumbled right in last night.
Blardy fine little corner you good people have here!

I have all our sleeping bags ready for a few nights break. grin

POTC, I can guarantee you I am not on your friends list. I am a facebook recluse. I have like 42 friends. My security settings are so high nobody can find me! shock Only a very limited number of mumsnetters have my id, as I am there with real name etc. wink

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 09:30:40

enjoy your trip QS!

Sexonlegs Sun 20-Jul-08 09:36:18

Happy Camping QS

SPB, I am lashing out really. I know that bf doesn't protect against viral things.

I am just at a loss and grabbing at straws. She does seem to have been susceptible to high temps since the MMR which was 5 weeks ago. Again grabbing at straws, but is seems quite a coincidence.

Lexi, good luck with the house move today. x

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 09:40:10

Phew
Don't blame you, it is awful when they are just continually ill, and it seems as though she's been so unlucky. Is she still asleep?

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 09:50:35

OK rant time
Had a dreadful night with T, obviously he wasn't well last night and I'm hoping that is why.
didnt go to bed till 10, fed all night, seemed to be wide awake a few times around 3. I woke up aching from the neck down.
So where is DH - yes, you guessed, still in bed!!!!

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 09:50:55

think he has another suspect nappy, oh wonderful

mammyjo Sun 20-Jul-08 09:58:20

Morning all.

QS, happy camping. Enjoy your sleeping bag grin

SOL, it is not anything to do with the fact that you didn't BF K. Don't even think about blaming yourself. She may well be a bit run down and taking a while to get over the MMR. Viruses are rife just now, especially with the weather so changeable and damp. F has a cold, as do my parents. It is nothing you did or did not do, it is just bloody bad luck. So there, consider yourself told!!

SPB, glad T is ok today.

Oooggs, glad the party went well smile

Leaky, hope race for life goes well for you smile

Dh and I had a chat last night. I am fed up with the fact that we just don't seem close anymore. We used to have a fab relationship, and I know having children changes things, but surely it doesn't have to be this way? I just feel that we exist together in the same house, doing all the mundane stuff, but with nothing nice inbetween. He didn't even realise (typical man), and because I started speaking about it he thought I wanted to finish things shock. I really don't and he made me cry sad I just think that if we are really going to go through with emigrating, our relationship needs to be rock solid first. I am not going half way around the world to be more miserable than I am here!

mammyjo Sun 20-Jul-08 09:59:50

X post SPB, hope T is ok later. Bloody men, they have a lot to answer for.

StealthPolarBear Sun 20-Jul-08 10:03:31

OK he has just said a genuine, unprompted, thank you for letting him lie in, and said he will take him later so i can relax. he is forgiven
mj, how did the conversation go after that? or did it end there? did he see what you meant? Completely agree with you about the emigrating thing

mammyjo Sun 20-Jul-08 10:09:23

Yes, he did see what I meant, just hadn't seen it as a problem. He said he will try harder. I am not expecting romantic gestures, he is just not like that, but a little bit of affection now and then would be nice. I just feel as if we are living completely separate lives, only under the same roof iykwim.

Sexonlegs Sun 20-Jul-08 10:16:15

Oh no SPB, how was the nappy? I need to know! Only joking!!

MJ, dh and I are the same. We exist together in the house. We both know it. We also used to have a great relationship before the girls, and I know we still can - well I think we can. The thought of splitting up makes me sick to the stomach and not an option. But I do sometimes yearn for that lust feeling to come back and to have fun again.

Thanks for your words re K. I know it is just bad luck.

K has woken up and her temp has gone and she seems to be on top form. Let's hope she is over it.
