Hi all. Dad's asleep in front of the rained off tennis, Jamlet is asleep on my lap (finally) so I get a little MN time.

We had such fun at the swimming pool this morning. The session we went to had a wave machine and I was concerned incase Jamlet didn't like it - no worries though, she LOVED it! And I went for a little walk with my Dad this afternoon (DH now feeling a little poorly ) and by the time we got back I was wiped out, so def right to have pulled out of the big walk today. I obviously need to build my strength up a bit more and get more rehydrated. Speaking of which, I am of others' teas. We are having lamb, which I don't like.

Plenty more where those came from Natty . Here's hoping the thread title is a good luck omen.

My tea was lovely. The potatoes were fab, fried with punjabi spices and black onion seeds and lots of garlic. I put them in the top oven to keep warm, but had switched the grill on instead of the oven so they were lovely and crispy on top.....thought I'd done too many, but they have all gone!

I love lamb though, especially cold roast lamb with minty mayonnaise on a sarnie.

Those potatos sound yummy Daisy!

Natty, I hope your DH gets sorted before he gets to death's door! Will keep everything crossed for you.

Come round ours tomorrow then Daisy, should be plenty of cold lamb available

Isn't the tennis a bit exciting. Am rooting for Federer to come back from near defeat and take the title. Nadal is too much like a street thug for my liking!

Report
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 06/07/2008 20:31

I am also rooting for federa. And avoided lamb for tea because DH is poorly, so we all had soup. Cold lamb aplenty all round tomorrow though

Trying to decide whether to send jamlet to nursery tomorrow or not. My Dad will be here and we were all going out for the day, but it looks like it will be wet and am short of ideas for where we can go indoors. I think she'd enjoy it here though, so prob will take her out with us.

that looks like "our" tropical world jammy...but a bit more upmarket . Just the place to be in the rain.

this tennis match is just too exciting for words.

What an awesome game of tennis that was. I wanted Federer to win, but after that epic they both deserved it.

the men's tennis is brilliant, but the women's is like watching paint dry.....and i hate all that bloody grunting they do nowadays (and that's just the women)

I didn't see all doctor who, maybe later in the week.

I am . At 9.30 tonight DS1 informed me he needs his medieval maiden costume TOMORROW> fecking man in training. So I am off to create a wig from nothing as I have even less to make a pointy hat with ...

And am so cross am going to have a glass of wine. I've been so damned SW perfect all day too.

Hi Natty and Ria

Natty - hope you're doing ok and are keeping your chin up

Ria - DS1 is going to be a maiden? Poor little fella!! That reminds me - Dh and I are going to a country and western fancy dress party soon and dh reckons he's too busy to look for a costume so wants me to get him one! Ooooh I think a Dolly Parton outfit would look great on him - with his man boobs and all!!!

do you really think so DKMA....I'm obviously missing something there, either that or 22 year olds (same age as my nephew) just don't float my boat. His winning speech was very gracious and sweet though.

so, DKMA convince my about the Close Baby carrier. I have been testing their nappies today and am rather impressed.

Evening all, just popping in before bed!

Natty, hope you are ok today. Keep your chin up and I'll keep my fingers crossed x

Jammy, hope you are having fun with you dad.

Wasn't the tennis fab?! A real proper match for once. Not sure about Nadal though, I wanted Federer to win. He is cool. Nadal is a bit young for me even and he is only a few years younger than me (well I spose I do go for the older man)! Andy Roddick gets my tennis hottie phwoar vote !

I went to Debenhams today to look at the sale and everything in there was a size 6! Literally everything. Every dress, skirt, top, size 6! I couldn't believe it. You'd think the manufacturers would realise that there are very very few people in RL that are a size 6 and stop making such a huge volume of clothes for them! I have only ever known one size 6 person in my whole life and she is possibly the skinniest person I've ever seen! On the bra front, however, they had loads of nursing bras in the sale. All 75% off. I bought a Freya one for £7 and a leopard print one for £5! They had Royce ones as well and some other makes in all sorts of sizes. Bargains!

Night all and hope you get the costume finished ria!! xxx

CLose baby carriers are brilliant. Lovely and soft and can be worn in so many different ways (little fella still loves going in his), they also wash well. I didn't know they did nappies too!

Netal looks like he's give a good work out in the bedroom department whereas Federer looks like he owns a hairdryer and irons his underpants Imo.

He he.

lackaDAISYcal · 06/07/2008 22:53

they are a sister company to modern baby. their latest nappy was designed by clare scott. they are shaping up nicely so far and are lovely and soft and very slim fitting. the website is a bit shite though as there isn't enough information on the nappy itself.

Report
justRia · 06/07/2008 23:43

costume finished. Long skirt, booby top (fake boobs too - bubble wrap in pop socks) and a long (if thin) plaited wig with two plaits gathered up at the back so the loops hang like dog-ears. No hat, veil or wimple. (yet). and no shoes.

so now I can find out who dunnit on Midsomer Murders, but as I don't know who is dead it's a bit pointless.

A friend of mine is probably a size 6 - she said she got down to size 0 when she was getting divorced/convincing affairee to leave their marriage. She looks fecking awful actually. (even DH doesn't fancy her and he's anyones!) I suppose everything left in the sale being a size 6 says something. (I will never be a size 6, ever, especially not if I eat and have a glass of wine every time I'm annoyed/stressed out)

Loving your Dolly outfit ides DKMA! Garth Crooks maybe?

Morning ladies

Don't go much on the Nuna Holly.....the seat support digs into DDs legs and I can't get my hands inside to do up the harness ....she's not that fat! But I can't take away the support and still use the tray ....its also blardy heavy. Have you got all your highchairs yet? I'm still waiting for 2.

OMG the weather is just AWFUL here today.

Hope you get some answers Natty....you need to speak to DH like Daisy said.

Was you burning the midnight oil Ria? Did you get it done?

LittleMissNorty · 07/07/2008 08:42

next time I'll catch up properly and read before I post. Sorry Ria, I see you did get it finished!

Hi Norty.

I am SO tired. DS1 not too keen on his fake boobs. If he comes home tonight with an order for wigs (like he did with DFs bow & arrows) I am leaving home!

I am working lunchtime too - one to one with a SEN pupil. Which would be lovely, but we don't know each other and the poor child obviously doesn't get told their routine is changing, so it doesn't go as well as it could IYSWIM. The job is there permanently from Sept, I haven't been offered it (but every bugger one else has ). I could actually be tempted if DH is going to be off/if it would fit in with what he is doing, and if I got to do some SEN training.

I am currently making DM a waterproof loo roll holder. My life is SO exciting.
