SPB, glad last night was slightly better. D was very hard to get to bed last night and woke up at 5 but went back to sleep with a feed in about half an hour.

I'm feeling very delinquent mummy this morning, D is at childminder's for another practice before Monday, and me, I'm reading mumsnet! That childminder on that thread wouldn't approve. I'll collect him to take him to baby group this afternoon, then we'll have tea with dp but dp has to go back to work to lobby an evening meeting, so I'll be trying to settle D on my own again.

Of course, as this is our last week before I go back I want everything to be perfect and of course it can't possibly be that way.

Happy Birthday Ange

Good Luck for the training later Dippy - not that you need it!

Charlie had his 2 year devlopment check this morning. All absolutely fine, and had Molly weighed as well, to see if she is heavy enough to change her over into her other car seat, but still not quite. She is 19lbs 7oz now.

Hi loves.

He isn't going until Sunday 16th March, and comes back Thursday 20th. So 4 nights.

I know it isn't that long in comparison to some, but I just hate it. Trying to juggle everything is hard enough with dh around.

Feeling v cross and resentful again today.

Sorry for the whinge.

Maveta · 28/02/2008 18:48

Hope you get some rest Dippy!

Never mind babies, where have all the mummies gone?

CD, if the trainer noticed, maybe it's because she's been there in terms of the sleep disturbance that comes with little ones. I'm sure though that you'll do the job brilliantly and that whatever the content of the training was is something that will fall into place once you start working.

SOL, poor you, I'd hate dp to be away so long and so soon. I don't like having to put him to bed on my own once a week, and it's actually twice this week as dp has a meeting he really needs to go to, though he did come home to eat and play with us briefly first.

Although she's 200 miles away, my mum's off to France for a week and China for 3 weeks next month, and I must be pretty pathetic as I hate her being out of the country and not being available easily by phone.

Just had to dip D in the bath a little earlier than normal due to leaky nappy problems, but I must go and try to settle him for the night soon.

evening all

girls in bed and I'm just waiting for dh to get home from Lonodn - then we're having pizza. Yuuuummmmmmmmmmmm!

Eventful day here - we have had an offer from the person who viewed on Monday. It is a little bit lower than I would have like a few months ago but as the market has dropped I think it's reasonable - especially as he is a cash buyer!!! I heard a few days ago that the sale (to someone else obviously) of the house we originally liked had stalled a bit and the vendors were nervous and open to viewings again. So I boldly rang the agents and said we were considering accepting a cash offer but as it was lower than we would like I would need to drop our offer by 5 grand and could they see how the vendors would feel about that. Haven't heard back yet - what I expect to happen is that the vendors will use our potential offer as a stick to get the existing buyers to hurry up and we won't get anywhere but still you never know. Dh and I need to review our figures tonight but I reckon we'll still be ok and will probably accept this offer regardless of what happens with the other house. Then we can rent for a bit and look for our dream house - again.

IDOC - have done lentil and squash thing - B very happy

Dippy - oooooooh - great to hear you've started your new job - how exciting! The book came back ok in the post btw

SOL - sorry your dh has to go off somewhere unpronounceable and unspellable (for me anyway) Will your mum be able to give you a hand again?

Hello to everyone else - am worn out with all the property scheming!

Exciting stuff NL - Progress!

DH is away tonight and although I am not all that The house seems unnervingly quiet!! DD's all in bed, sleeping before 7!! They were so tired, bless 'em ... hope this doesn't mean a mega early one for me tomorrow!!

Sadly the trainer was the same age as me, Elkie, and not in a relationship - let alone contemplating babies!!

Report
NorthernLurker · 28/02/2008 19:44

All I've got is Mothercare. I'm hours away from John Lewis and I could go to the independant pram shop but it's not that easy to mooch over prams etc there without getting them down from the display and thus creating unrealistic hopes in the shop assistant.
