right dts asleep by 7.20pm, I fed Erin in nursery whilst Jack (in highchair) & James were next door in front room watching Bob the Builder. Worked ok but Jack was starting to get cross about being restrained.

She took 20 mins, then fed Jack and he went to bed fine as well.

James just had a story & is in bed but not asleep, but this is late for him so I need to jig it about a bit. Not so bad as he doesn't have nursery tomorrow.

enjoy the meeting ellie

caz - hope tonight discussions go ok

impressed NL

Hi sorry for moaning earlier

SPB - friend gave me £40 she owed me. Gave it to me just as I was leaving with baby in arms so I stuck it in pocket of jeans and forgot about it No sign of it since After leaving her I took an application form for her to a school to hand in and I suspect it may have fallen out then when I took my phone out my pocket. Although still ever so slightly hopeful it may turn up somewhere round the house Very with myself for being so careless.

Caz - so about the house I really hope you can find something else that works for you all.

Dippy and SOL - glad you both got medicine for your poorly girls, hope it works

Runny - lol at CC having same pushchair as you!

Caz, what a shame about the house, I really hoped that you had some solution sorted out, hope something else comes up.

Pesha and Dippy, hope your finances improve soon.

And POTC, sorry about J's job, not for him but because of the effect it may have on you.

Dippy, I'm also glad that the doctor did make it to see you, and hope your DCs all feel better soon.

Oh God, not caught up and am going to launch straight in with a MOAN and hope someone can help me!!

Have posted a thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2673/480613?rnd=1203366887560 asking for help with novice Ebay disaster!!

Not sure I will be selling stuff again - yes, I have made £75, but it has taken hours, and hours, and hours of my time, which I could have been doing something else with (like looking for a proper job). Feel very .

Poor you Bramshott. I have a premier paypal account already so can accept all payments, but as you have already been told, there are fees attached. The fees are dependant upon the amount of money you are being sent (its a percentage of the total I think), so your charges shouldnt amount to much I wouldnt think. Hope you manage to get it sorted

Caz, I am so sorry about the house. Such a shame, it sounded as if you had found a great solution too. Hope you and dh manage to work things out xxx

Runny, congrats to your neighbour! Made me laugh reading your dh's comment about them not knowing what they are in for - so true Glad the interview went well today too. Must meet up again soon xxx

Pillock, enjoy the meeting

Off to bed soon as F is already unsettled, not holding out much hope for a good night of sleeping! Night all xxx

Sol - hope the brolene does work. D had a couple of days christmas time when he woke up with an eye stuck shut or nearly stuck. Although it kept clearing up again so I'd decided not to take him to the dr and then it'd come back again And with it being christmas his bad days were of course on days when they were shut! Cleared up on its own in the end.

And yes I have applied!! Thank you for all your help DP printed my cv, cover letter and the horrible application form off at his mums today as my printer was leaving dots of ink all over everything So thats 2 jobs applied for by post and have applied for 2 online aswell so fingers crossed that one of them likes me enough to at least offer me an interview!

Have not applied for adult chat host job though although perhaps I should, I definitely have more experience in that area than in anything else!!

I'm sure you've already thought of it, but a suggestion to those wanting to sell baby stuff - get your mum to do it!
Seriously though, I put a printed off a few photos of baby stuff that we want to sell (highchair, crib, bouncy chair etc) wrote the price that we want, and my mum has kept them on her. She knows a lot a of people that are becoming grandparents, and 2nd hand stuff is ideal for keeping at their house.
She's already sold the highchair

really am going now....

Evening All. I hope your DD's get well quickly CD - CP can be really yucky for them poor things. But congrats on your job - missed what it was but great news
bramshott - not sure if I will go down the ebay route now! Keep thinking about it but sounds confusing!
ellkie I thought of you the other day as S choked on what I guess was a fur ball - she also brought up heaps of mucus while coughing non-stop. I remember reading Danny did this and how you dealt with it (thanks!) - scary though.

Our good news is that S got the all clear today with regard to her kidney's etc finally and she can stop the continuous antibiotics she has been on since 4 months. We don't know why she is getting so many UTI's but there is no underlying medical reason thank goodness. We have spent so much time in the children's ward that she knows the play specialist better than her Grandma

Finally 10 years ago today I was in labour with my first born..., 3 babies later and 2 step children, living in 4 countries and 9 homes it has been a busy decade. I swear it seems just the other day I took my tiny wee girl home - time really passes so quickly and now here I am with a 10 month old doing it all again

Great news about S and the hospital Zazas!

Runny - thanks! Yes, I remember, and also remember with that I posted on the thread you started about that as I thought I understood Paypal then!

I have now resigned myself to parcelling up the Ebay stuff and sending it off so I am sitting here wrapping it. At least it gets it out of the house so we can decorate N's bedroom. HOWEVER, someone who has bought one of N's little premmie sleepsuits wants it for her reborn doll "who weighs 4lb 9oz". I feel like saying "no, you can't have it!" Makes me feel a bit wierd!!

Report
elkiedee · 18/02/2008 22:26

Bramshott, reborn doll? Sounds v weird to me too.

I've been buying little bits and pieces on ebay recently but selling hardly seems worth the effort with postage and fees and everything.

Getting mum to do it seems like a good option - my mum sold some things on ebay that my sister was given by a famous and wealthy friend - it was all a bit of a nightmare but someone paid £375 for a pair of shoes and my sister's a bit skint after being a student forever and still in a job which is an essential starting point but quite low paid. But I don't think I would have held my nerve posting shoes to Australia, particularly as there was a risk the parcel wouldn't be accepted into the country (leather goods restriction).

If anyone has stuff to sell but can't face the workload of using ebay, find out about NCT or similar nearly new sales. I'm looking forward to going to mine as a buyer on 1 March. There's a local group Haringey Families which has monthly ones here but there might be other local mums or parents' organisations which do similar stuff elsewhere.

Hi everyone
caz, sorry about the house Seemed like the answer to a prayer at the time
zazas, so pleased S has the all clear and you can get back to some sort of normality!
Pesha lol at dp gets bored at work! Hope the £40 turns up, have you checked the washing basket?
Bramshott, I rarely sell anything on ebay because I've never found I make anything really, especially if I take my time into account, the photographing, listing, packing etc! Mind you the last thing I sold was an old textbook of BIL's (I am the family ebay expert ) which went for about £40!!
I agree, those reborn dolls are a bit freaky!
Well, not a particularly good night here but managed to have plenty of sleep, was just broken. I think T is growing his 5th tooth - the one on the top at the front, there's a suspicious lump.
Well, better go and start breakfast.

Meant to say in the last one but got sidetracked by freaky dolls, Pillock, sorry J is being a tit. Again.

Hi everyone

MJ, your parents sound very kind indeed

NL, you always make me laugh

Caz, so sorry about the house fingers crossed that something happens asap and you can work things out so that you are all happy

POTC, dickhead strikes again

oooggs, glad the highchair thing worked. Parenting is a long round of juggling things to get them right for everyone. Hope you get there soon

Pesha, I'm with you on the money front there's never enough but ATM things are veyr tight

Bramshott, I had that with ebay a while back. I think you can only accept 5 payments a year or something crap with the basic paypal account I got stung when i first sold stuff because I didn't add enough £ to cover postage[thicko] so now I look on the royal mail website for postage and add a bit

SPB, babies ALWAYS poo in a clean nappy Such a PITA

Hi everyone else

I decided to bite the bullet and advertise as a bookkepper to see if I can get myself self-employed by the time dd goes to school or really at the lastest when ds starts preschool(eeek only 18 months) I've been toying with the idea for so long and it would solve all childcare issues(hopefully) as I coudl work when dd is at school and maybe put ds in a nursery, then not work school holidays Fingers crossed [scared]

SPB, Re nappies, D had to have his nappy changed twice in about an hour, fortunately dp is on a late shift today which means he's here this morning, but he's finding D's fascination with playing with the toilet and the bin and everything a bit hard work. He keeps asking how I cope with D and at the moment I'm not sure I know the answer, he's lovely but I dread the nappy changing battle because he just won't stay still.

Good luck Eddas.
