Heehee thought I'd start the new thread. there seemed to be a recurring theme from everyone's recent posts - hence the title.

Hope everyone's well and that you found us without too much trouble

He he thanks Taffy. Yes a very apt title. Lo slaps me when I tell him 'no' Then garbles a long sentance with a very stern look on his face . Have to try not to laugh at him.
Hes still being realy good with George though. He does poke him every now and then and laughing.
How are all you pregnant ladies doing?
Anything good planned for the weekend?

Hi All,

After saying I felt much better I spent Fri/Sat feeling awful and puking!! DH is away for a week too. God I detest being pregnant! I hate to wish my life away but roll on July. At least Amber can climb the stairs to bed now. Are you all still using sleeping bags? Amber is such a restless sleeper the thought of her using a duvet terrifies me. My Mum said to wait until the Summer to try her - she loves to be mega cosy you see and wakens if at all chilly.

TAFFY - you do realise we are gonna get a whole load of MN coming on now thinking we ought not to discipline our kids - but wave a finger at them and say firmly No! It will be like the weaning thread all over again!!!

Amber has been seriously off her food the last few days - think we have molar coming in - consequently I have been up at ridiculous am to give her milk as she is hungry. I gave her dairylea yesterday and she loved it. She like to nip, although she gently nibbled my Mum's arm last week. If you yelp or react she laughs and does it again So when she is bad I slap her hand and put in the corner and ignore her for a while. I just don't know where she gets her defiant streak from

PRINCESS - gald to hear you will be settled soon.

SAMSMAM - hope you are okay.

BABYDUCKY - hope Kai is well.

Rumpel: I got an 18-36 mo sleepin gbag for DS. He doesn;t like being zipped up in it but it keeps him warm (and therefore asleep!). Come warmer weather we'll prob stick to pjs and no covers. Sorry you're feeling bad .

Gingeme: DS does the lectures as well - no idea what he's saying! He doesn't slap to much but does whack me over the head with books/whatever else he wants me to play with. Successful toy of the moment: toy dustpan, brush and broom set . Now I just need to teach him to sweep up after himself...

Report
catgirl · 28/01/2008 13:39

love the title

Ds2's fav toy is toy broom and mop - I can get him to follow me round asking him to sweep! I remember ds1 being the same. Ds2 makes a beeline for the iron too - am sure he has no idea what you are supposed to do with it

sympathies Rumbel - grim feeling poorly, esp if dh is away.

Report
EffiePerine · 28/01/2008 13:41

I don't think DS knows the iron exists

hi EffieP - thought that was you, but wasn't 100%! Things good on the whole - hoping to be down to working 3 days by easter - try to recruit job-sharer at the mo... keep fingers crossed! It is too much to work full time with 2, although I can't quite get my head round having 2 days at home and being able to do stuff! What do you do when not at work? There is a new children's centre opening near me in the summer, and hope to take ds2 swimming once a week.....

You on the move yet?

ds2 finds the iron in the room he isn't allowed into! So delightful for all sorts of reasons!

Hi all,

I don't get much chance to post on here. Feeling pretty uncomfortable and horrible at moment.
Only got to wait until Thursday for my growth scan then I should get a date for induction.

Rumpel- sorry to hear you are feeling rough. I too am not enjoying this pregnancy lark I am making a pact not to have anymore. DP has other ideas! I just seem to moan my way thru life at the moment!

I too have an 18-36 month grobag and am a bit worried about switching to a duvet. Maybe I'll wait until it gets a bit warmer.

When are people going to start abotu putting their LO's in beds. With guards of course! We tried it and she did it for two nights then screamed the following nights. We are back to the cot- mummy needs to sleep!

hi all,

love the new thread title!

hi rumpel, sorry to hear you're feelin pukey, hope it calms down soon.
yes kai is fine thanks, still waiting to hear from dermatologist, his face was awful at the weekend, bright red & he kept rubbing his face on everything, (especially dps jeans!) like it was really itching him, hope it gets sorted soon.

He sleeps in pjs & a fleecey sleepsyuit thing at the mo, when it gets warmer prob just be pjs, he wriggles around so much in the night, wont keep any kind of blankets on, & he wakes up too much in a sleeping bag now coz he gets all tangled up!

samsmam, not long left for you know!
I was thinking about beds the other day, thought i would wait till summer, I cant imagine him sleeping in a bed,

Also gonna start potty training in summer.

Dunno if anyone remembers when my bro was really ill, well he has been given the go ahead to go back to work now! He has just started driving again too, its amazing how he has recovered,

sadly though my nan died today,
feeling sad but relieved tbh, she had another stroke, 4th one I think, & she could no longer do anything at all for herself, at least she can rest in peace now.

Babyducky - so sorry to hear about your nan I know what you mean about it being a relief in the end though. Good news about your bro tho.
Good luck potty training. DD was nightmare, not going to attempt with owen till he's 3, unless he shows signs of wanting to do it!

Owen is still in a sleeping bag at night. DD was in one till 2.5yrs. I only stopped using it cos she worked out how to climb out of the cot with it on! Realised then it would be safer to be in a bed!

Funny fave toys everyone's los have! Owen is seriously into climbing furniture atm. I just can't watch him. I can't stop him doing it and I put a thread on here about it and everyone has said just let him get on with it! so i have...

Has anyone's los had a haircut yet? Owen desperately needs one as its in his eyes nearly. DH said do it in his sleep! Has anyone invented a baby head vice? As I don't think he will sit still for 5 seconds!

Yes Taffy lo has had his hair cut twice now at my haidressers and the best thing that kept him still was looking at himself the whole time in the mirror little poser that he is.
Oh and hes climbimg everywhere and on everything too. Resulting in yet another big bump on his head just today

babyducky - sorry to hear about your nan. But great news about your brother - am I right in thinking he kept trying to escape from the hospital??!

re beds/sleeping bags etc - we took ds1 out of his sleeping bag just before he was 2 - we were potty training, so he would wake at night (any excuse ) want the loo, so we would have to get him out of the bag, out of his pjs, out of nappy, onto loo/potty, back into nappy, pjs, gro-bag, cot - got sick and tired of that quiet quickly, so out of gro-bag, nappy and cot just before he was 2! Having said that a friend of mine stopped using gro-bag when her son was 3.5! He could unzip himself, but it suited them to keep him in it, so they did! all different!

ds2 is a climber too - amazingingly so - gest onto the sofa, stands up and bounces! Has seen his big brother do it!

hope the teething is easing off! back to work for me....

sorry for bad spelling, no time to check - boss walked in!

DS2 does not have enough hair to warrant getting it cut! Ds1 didn't have a hair cut until he was over 2! then is was all off with clippers as he wouldn't sit still long enough - looked awful! But did the job!

Hi All,

So sorry about your Nan Babyducky - but a relief for her and all the family - it is so horrible to see people you love suffer. Fab news re your bro - he must have a good fighting spirit too .

Amber will not need ahaircut for years She has lots and lots of fine hair but there seems to be more at the back than the front . I am a bit miffed actually as I was hoping she would have hair like mine - very thick, grows like wildfire and would grow down to my bum if I left it. Sadly it appears to be more like her Dad's. He has lots of fine hair, but it is a nightmare when you are a girl as you need an excellent haircut/stylist or you can see all the scissor marks. Also it can go all flat/fluffy - hopefully it will get thicker the older she gets.

I think I will put her in a wee bed in the Summer - will use the cot for newbie LO. I'll try her in a duvet then. I started potty tarining but have been feeling too puky to continue - she also suffers form constipation a lot (despite me doing everything to combat it) so her 'rouitine' is very unpredicatable. Annyoingly when I I undress her for a bath, she holds it in until she is in the bath! She must know how good it is for your skin

GINGEME - have you got 2 cots now then for all your boys and DS3 is in a bed? You need to tell me DS3 name now 'cos I am intrigued - James? John? Ian? trying to think of classic names. You won't like ours much - Calvin for a bluey - his middle name will be Thomas though - you'll approve of that .

CATGIRL - shame on you for sciving

morning all,

yeah catgirl my bro did keep trying to escape from hospital

Kai climbs onto everything aswell, yesterday he climbed onto the chair & onto the dining table so he could get his dummy! (we only let him have it at night) Cheeky monkey!

Climbs up the stairs aswell, we live in a top floor flat, 4 flights of stairs, he insists on climbing up all of them when we've been out!

His fave toy is the hoover, he loves it, he just walks around with the end bit pretending to hoover, i'm gonna have to get him a toy one!

He hasn't had a haircut yet, I think he needs one, its getting a bit wild! Gettig really curly now, dp doesnt want him to get it cut yet though!

Rumpel- LOVE the name calvin!

Rumple ds3's name is David. Were not royalists honest Edward has been so miserable the past few days. He has cut two teeth on each side top and bottom all at once. Poor lttle fella has been in real pain. Still gets them all out the way.
Took ds5 for his BCG today. He didnt cry too much. Told him to get used to it.
Calvin is a realy nice name Rumple. Yes ds4 is in a cot ds3 in his bed and ds5 in bed with me. Co sleeping is pretty easy. DH has taken it upon himself to get a blow up mattress and sleep in the front room. We all sleep better.
Catgirl ds4 is always copying hi big brother and ds4 is getting wise to it and gets him in trouble The start of things to come I think.

How cute babyducky. Been a bit stressful here lately. Big row with dh last night after he shouted at crying lo,ds5, to shut up Getting me out of the bath to shout at him. All went off but cleared the air a bit.
Ds4 is getting all his teeth at once. He now has a molar each side top and bottom and is still dribbling like a tap. He seems happy in himself though thank goodness.
Had a bit of a pooh moment this morning. ds3 is now trying to wipe his own bum when he has a pooh. I hate to think what he though he was doing but he seemed to be very covered in it. Even down the front of his legs. Stuck him in the shower and told him to ask for help in the future.
Just taking each day as it comes at the moment. Got a friends wedding to look forward to on the 18th. Looking for a decent blouse thats pretty as well as bf practical. Just hope I dont leak in the middle of the ceremony
Hope every one else and lo's are well.
Take care all xxx

hi all. sounds tough gingeme. am not looking forward to that stage of loo life. i hate arguing in front of dh with lo around. hope it's all better.
rumpel hope you are coping ok.
taffy good thread title. lo needs her hair chopping at the back and sides again, started looking mad, esp as nothing much at front!
have just got the bigger grobags as hope could hardly move in others. had to put one on this evening and change mattress protector and sheet as she was sick almost as soon as went down. not easy now with huge bump on the front of me.
great news about being at home a bit more catgirl.
builders are still invading every part of our house. lo said 'oh god' this am straight after i'd said it having opened front door to more mayhem. living on takeaways for what seems like forever. lo is getting quite unexcited by eating croissants in cafes for breakfast. not good. hopefully back to porridge and a normal kitchen for friday am.
would you believe not only had to contend with pg insomnia plus peeing 4 times in night but also woken 4x by dh. he sat bolt upright in bed looking wide eyed and tried to urge me out of bed. first time was v gentle and said 'it's ok, am not in labour go back to sleep it's only dream', as you can imagine 4th time not so generous spirited about my precious hours of kip
samsmam hope you're bearing upxx

Hi all, really fed up of this pregnancy thing and LO has another cold! Just how many colds can a child have in their first years of life!! I'm guessing it'll be the teeth again! Lets hope it doesn't turn in to tonsillitus again.

Been to midwife this morning and I am booked in to be induced on 29th Feb, I really hope that it will happen before then. I was induced last time and it wasn't a nice experience. Looks like I may have to start on other methods............

DP started his new job on Monday, got to get used to the shifts and listening to him getting up at 4.30am! And having here on weekdays!!!!!

Report
gingeme · 07/02/2008 15:22
