So my son was born on the 25 percentile wieghing 6lb 12oz he then moved up to the 50th percentile at 3months wieghing 13lb 7oz and then the 65th percentile at 4months wieghing 16lb 9oz. Today he was wieghed after 4weeks at 17lb 13oz and HV said he was on the 75th percentile however when i checked the book after shw marked him two weeks behind so he is actually on the 66th percentile. His length was 99th percentile when measured 4weeks ago. Should i be worried? My baby doesnt look over wieght at all he has chubby cheeks but not overweight.

My 24 week old is 23lbs and on the top percentile line, I definitely wouldn't worry about your baby being overweight if his weight is lower than his height percentile is.

My HV made us feel like he was really overweight as he had put on a 1lb and 6oz in 4weeks which i dnt personally think is bad but we felt terrible afterwards like we had done something wrong x

He sounds like a totally normal size baby! The charts are based on averages and most babies won’t gain weight in exactly the same way.
And quite often will take a period of weeks or months to settle into a new centile line. Do you need to get him weighed so frequently or is it just making you feel anxious?

DD is 25 weeks (I had to count, I had no idea 😂) and is somewhere just over 7kg (our scales aren’t that accurate) so about 15.5lbs? She’s around the 40th centile AFAIK. She was born on about the 80th centile and has dropped steadily (to around the 30th centile) until it’s evened out in the last month or so. She’s just naturally a bit more slight. Her older brother was a chunk and was about 2kg heavier by this age than she is now but he’s dropped down to the 50th centile now!

That amount of weight gain sounds very normal to me :) My baby has put on 2lbs most months.

I dont have to get him wieghed so often i had to get him wieghed 4weeks ago as he wasnt drinking his milk and doctor wanted him to get wieghed. And today was because hv wanted a catch up and just decided to wiegh him. Thats made me feel better, i think now he is weaning he will maybe stay on a percentile. its just the way she said it oh you need to stop what your doing stop giving his milk so much lol i only give it 4times a day if that and he has 3-5oz a time x

That sounds completely normal, my little boy weighed in at 9kg at 19 weeks but he's always been a big chunk at all the baby classes everyone comments on him being massive ( which annoys me ) but apparently he is normal weight for size !

Sounds fine.

Baby can't overeat. (Unless you're somehow forcing him to)

Baby can move up and down centiles.

As long as he happy, healthy, gaining weight, doing lots of weeks and poos.... He's fine.

And besides, the whole point of centiles, is there is a heaviest baby and a lightest baby. It's a bell curve.

Don't fret!
