Can anyone recommend formula for reflux? We've been using cow and gate.

If you have cow milk protein intolerance nutramigen AA is completely free of dairy. It's prescription only. We were on it for three years. Anything you buy off the shelf is not cows milk free it will still have some dairy in it. See your dr:

Thanks for your replies. We've started hipp organic and will see how that goes. Though I've heard that kendamil is meant to be good. If hipp doesn't work then I'll try that. Fingers crossed.

Our dietician recommended SMA Infant pro but specifically the liquid ready made stuff and then dual gaviscon sachets in it.

@Dinosauraddict haven't seen that one. Is it on the shelves?

It really depends on the cause, what are the symptoms? The baby may need an antacid type medicine from the doctor. As for formula you can typically get ones whereby the milk proteins are hydrolysed aka made very small so they are more easily digestible, or completely milk free such as Nutramigen. I'd start with a hydrolysed one and advance to Nutramigen if no improvement but also see doctor. Hopefully you see some improvement soon. 4 months was big turn of the corner with my reflux baby.

And to answer your question we Used Gerber Extensive HA but not sure if available in U.K.

I've spoken to the doctor about it and the first port of call is changing the formula to see if a different one agrees better with him. So was looking for recommendations

You can buy it in 1L cartons or 220ml cartons (the latter working out a lot more expensive). I found Amazon was the cheapest place to buy it (and the most reliable) but sometimes I could get it in Sainsbury's, Asda, or boots. Don't think the other places sold it. Asda stopped selling it during lockdown 1 but don't know if they've restarted. It's not cheap but 2 dieticians told me it was the best option for my son so I went with it. (I mixed fed for first 6 months.) Here's a link to the 6 pack size which was the one I always went with when we'd settled on it: SMA Pro First Infant Milk from Birth, 1 Litre, Pack of 6 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B084PQ7Y3H/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttfabcN9B5W56QTP5BW3SM0ZTZ

Worth saying I was told to use that for 5 of his 6 feeds per day - eventually the sixth was a prescription one.

@doritodiva Is it Cow and Gate anti reflux you're using? Smile

I’ve started using SMA ready mixed formula. Hasn’t helped with the reflux but baby seems happier. She was refusing her bottle on the powdered version of every formula we tried- aptamil she screamed her head off for 24 hours. Kendamil didn’t make any difference she just wasn’t drinking much (less than 3oz per feed. Sometimes just 1oz).
Can buy ready mixed SMA from any supermarket. And Amazon (it works out 20p cheaper than Asda) over the little 200ml bottles as she doesn’t drink much and it lasts 24 hours in fridge once opened.

Can I ask are you using the normal hipp organic or the reflux one? My lo is suffering with silent reflux and we’ve tried aptamil and kendamil with no change :(

My baby was on kendamil since birth and she still had reflux, even though they say their formula is amazing. When a baby has reflux they need something different.
We tried Hipp Anti-Reflux and it worked wonders but she suffered so much to poo. Trying cow and gate at the moment but it made her spit milk out again, so I'm a bit clueless on what to do
