What is the best infant carrier?

I really want to buy a comfortable carrier for when my baby is born, that both me and my husband are happy to wear.

I will buy a wrap sling for myself but My husband would prefer more or a carrier style for himself than a wrap.

I was looking at the Baby Bjorn mini but read that ideally it would be better to get a sling with more lumbar support.

Any suggestions?

We had the ergo 360 with newborn insert. The wrap was better initially and I just used to put it on my DH as he couldn't negotiate all the material, once DS was a bit bigger we put him in the ergo. He felt too small for it at the start even though he was within the weight limit.

Is there a reason he's against using a sling? My boyfriend uses ours and loves it!

We both used a Hanna wrap until our son was about 4 months old then switched to the ergo baby 360.

Your husband would really be better off using a wrap when your baby is newborn.

Tula carriers are great and super comfy. Better with bigger babies though. A stretchy wrap worked best for me when they were tiny.

Different slings carriers are better for different babies/parents.

Ds loved the stretchy wrap and so did I until he got heavy then I needed more support. Dd hated the wrap but loved the structured ergo.

I like the ergo for out walking but felt too much in the house and the waist band was too wide if I wanted to sit it dug in (I'm short though). So with dd I bought a meh dai which is brilliant but is a pain if you're putting it on in the car park when the ground is wet as the ties dangle. It's also slightly more fiddly to put on, dd has got to the clingy up down stage so I've just purchased a ring sling but haven't used that yet so can't really comment.

May I suggest lovetobenatural.co.uk (I don't work for them honest) but I found the chat section very useful when buying my meh dai and they have go lots more options that any mainstream baby shop as the are specialists in carrying.

Thank you everyone for your advice.
I decided to get the boba wrap sling for newborn and the ergobaby 360 for when he's bigger.
I've found both second hand in good condition on eBay so going to try get a bargain xx
