Just posted on old thread so have copied it on here too!

Thanks for supportive words you lot - I need to make the effort to get on here more often to keep sane!

I think to be honest I have been doing too much over the last 2 weeks.

I went out with lo on day 3 shopping, we have in fact been out most days, and had people over EVERY DAY - which is pissing me off now.

I feel like I just want time alone with him now. DH is going back to work on Monday and tomorrow will be the only day just the 3 of us will have spent together (without anyone coming around, or us going out visiting).

Feeling like I'm just fire fighting the chores and tasks and haven't had time to sit down and get to know him yet. But I'm making time for that next week for sure. We do have a few things planned in (mum coming around for lunch on Mon, meeting up with NCT girls and babies on Tues - that kind if thing)

On the bright side - my stitches feel much better so I'm more mobile - might even get to the gym next week to try to shift some of this fat! That will make me feel better for sure!

You all seem to be doing so well - Foxy - you've only just given birth and are so chipper and on top of things - I feel like such a fu**wit!

Dkma you are so not a fuckwit! You do sound like you are doing too much, you need to rest and bond. Make sure you spend at least a couple of days next week at home and sleep when lo does. You will feel much better!

dkma...there are no prizes for being superwoman. you need to kick back and let your body recover from the wonderful thing its done, and you need to spend some time getting to know your beautiful ds.

sod the housework....it isn't going anywhere, but your DS's precious first weeks are, so tell visitors you're busy and just enjoy and relax.

or get the visitors to do the housework

above all else, keep talking to us.....i've had a few wobbly moments and this lot have kept me sane

natalie imbruglia is on the lottery show...she looks absolutely fabulous. liking her hair especially and might get mine cut that short.

BTW I was very impressed with tesco online shopping (apart from the fact it arrived at 2.55, dp and I practically attacked the poor driver, we were like ravenous wolves!). The fruit and veg looked good and only one thing was out of stock. I am now sat here wondering what I can snack on!

DKMA, there is a MASSIVE difference between how I am with DC4 to how I was with DC1. Also, sleep deprivation hasn't set in and I haven't had to recover from a traumatic birth.

So please don't go comparing yourself with anyone else - but do use us if you need help and support. Because I'll need you in about 2 - 4 weeks time when I'm falling apart ....

I agree with you foxy. I had a (to use derlor's phrase) piece of piss birth with no injuries to recover from this time and have found it much easier to recover from. Dd's birth was more difficult and recovery from stitches takes time. Also I know what to expect from a nb baby this time, so am finding it much easier. You are doing a great job dkma, don't ever put yourself down.

IKWYM Foxy...things don't seem nearly as bleak this time around. this is a walk in the park comapred to DS.

OMG my nearly namesake has upset people on that FF thread. I hope people don't think it's me

I was doing that this morning foxy! The only food we had was a can of beans, which dd and I shared for breakfast. I was watching that saturday morning cooking show and salivating, not at James Martin, but at the food! Luckily the Tesco man saved me with pizza!

Not been great today (r the past few to be honest). I realised it particularly when one of the best bits of today was changing the bin bag, washing up cat food tins for recycling, sorting out nappies, tidying up, putting the veg away and preparing tea. All domestic chores that normally wouldn't be so hot, but it was lovely to feel there was more to life than being a portable milk machine and baby cradle for an hour. The other good bit was when DH encouraged me to go sleep for a bit this afternoon. I think if we get a restful night I might feel able to properly cope tomorrow, which will be nice.

IKWYM jamantha, sometimes I go and do the washing up just to give myself a break from screaming kids!

as holly said earlier "You Are Fab". keep telling yourself that.

so what do i do about that other thread...go on and shout it isn't me.....ignore it and hope it goes away.....really change my name so there's no daisy in it at all?

Just read that thread daisy. That daisybo was surely posting to get people's backs up! If I were you I would go on there and say daisybo is not me!

I got heavily into baking at one point before this pg - it makes you feel wonderfully maternal without having to interact with the children.
