JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:07:24

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:12:35

<<tapping fingers>>

anewme Thu 05-Jul-07 18:13:42

I'm here still.. don't fret...

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:13:58

anewme Thu 05-Jul-07 18:14:54

how do you find being on your own with new baby then. is it your first?

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:15:22

no, i have ds1 who's 3.9

it's shit

can't deny it

anewme Thu 05-Jul-07 18:16:39

People say to me that it's a good job I didn't have a baby with him cos he would have done it anyway, but sometimes i think I would have at least had some company..but then imagine having to give my child to him and her of a weekend. that would have been tough.

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:18:41

that's the shit bit
it's why i'm really sad atm
ds1 goes to his dads and it's lovely
i hate having to take ds2 to his dads
i want him out of my life and i can't

anewme Thu 05-Jul-07 18:19:54

is that not cos it's a bit raw with DS2? does his dad have new girlfriend?

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:23:16

no, it's cos i don't like him

i like ds1's dad, sometimes too much

he does have a new gf but i kicked him out so can't blame him!

just a thought, did you know Maveta is in spain? which is why dh wouldn't believe her if she said it was raining!

anewme Thu 05-Jul-07 18:26:49

ha ha! Oh right now i get it. you can tell i'm the newbie around here. I only really know SOKL from ttc thread this time last year.. remember her feeling frustrated as everyone was getting pg and now look at her..makes me smile

elkiedee Thu 05-Jul-07 18:27:57

Hi JoMa, good to see you around and creating a new thread. Sorry that being on your own/having to deal with Joe's dad is so tough. Hi anewme too. Good thread title.

I'm actually over 200 miles from home, at my mum's in Ilkley, and have managed to find a way to sit and type at mum's computer with Danny on my lap, and without the aid of a cushion (addicts will find ways to feed their addiction and I'm an internet addict). We travellled up this morning and arrived early afternoon.

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:32:38

i'm compilng a thread round up as we speak, will add a bit with info on people for you

we have an email list, email me on kirkbyellen

if you want to join

maveta Thu 05-Jul-07 18:33:18

yes, sorry..cheers ellie dont know what we´d do without the thread pa to keep us all straight

Did you see my last post on last thread? 2500 Euros for babies!! But not mine.. maybe the next one.. they didn´t even advertise it was happening, just POOF! One day you have a baby and hey, would you like 2500?? Thank you nicely.. Babies born like a day before it came into effect must be gutted.. well, the parents at least

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:35:56

we had that here with the child trust fund maveta, but £250

maveta Thu 05-Jul-07 18:38:23

Oh and Mothers.. got to love them (ignore the fact that we are..). mine was watching me feed N the other day (bit of belly exposed as my top was lifted up) and said ´yeah, guess you should get back to the gym soon and start doing some abdominals´!!! Cheeky cow!!!!

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:42:40

mine calls me a stupid cow/bitch, flat chested, obnoxious

yours is tame

Responses to previous thread, we were warned at antenatal class and I was reminded by the midwife that breastfeeding isn't a reliable method of contraception. I'm formula feeding (not by choice) and expressing a very small amount daily, trying to latch ds on occasionally, and a couple of times my period's looked like starting, but not really.

Since my cycle isn't predictable, have bought contraception as though I do want another one, I will need to go back to work for at least 6 months, and don't plan to do that until around Easter - will then have to give it a go fairly quickly as I'll be rapidly approaching 40.

maveta and whoever else talked about mn ing with baby by her side, I'm so glad not to be only one not to have much of a routine. We do have a second bedroom which is to be baby's but it needs to be cleared out first and that's a mammoth task.

I'm the laziest person ever re housework, but it's hard to do much of it with a baby who doesn't like to be put down. Fortunately, I have an understanding dp.

Looks like people are arriving for tea.

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:43:40

and yes, but we're never gonna be like our mothers

leakyR Thu 05-Jul-07 18:50:12

Quick hello.

Haven't caught up on last thread.

I have to admit I've resisted the urge to join you all on MSN as I don't need another internet thing to become addicted to (along with MN and facebook). Also why chat on msn when these are talkboards - why not stay on here?

Been shopping again today, got some bargains in Debenhams sale. George is about as impressed as his dad with shopping. Very grizzly. Spent rest of day washing and trying to get stuff sorted for going away on Saturday.

Hope all are well. Want you all to do reverse rain dance before weekend so I can actually feel like it's my summer holiday!

JoMa Thu 05-Jul-07 18:52:36

ah leaky, the msn thing is just easier as it's quicker and doesn't fill up these threads

and theres some things i can't talk abot on here

leakyR Thu 05-Jul-07 18:53:27

BTW my mum knows better than to comment on my appearance. It's taken 32 years to train her though! I recall some doozy rows when I went to uni and put on a lot of weight from all that cheap beer.
