Hi ya

Ah ha so tried to lose me did you

Londoner your household sounds hilarious, how do you manage it, I get stressed just getting two to bed.
T is velcro baby again at the monent too, he goes into complete melt down if I go out and leave him with anyone else and is my constant shadow around the house.

Rodeo, B's birthday plans sound great, what a cool young lady you've got.
Lol there was a small boy in my bed last night too, seems to have become a bit of habit, he has a thing about noises in his room. I'm sure he could hear a spider fart at the moment

FH ahh how sweet that A can say his name what a clever boy, T said boy and girl yesterday which I thought was cool, but he can't say his own or B's name yet, just calls B bubby!

Thanks for asking how baboon butt is, unfortunately he's got gastroenteritus(sp?), he was up till 10:30 last night with evil smelling nappies, he eventually slept through but as soon as I lifted him out of the cot this morning he covered us both in green puke - nice Took him to the drs today and have to starve him for at least 12 hours - he's not impressed.

After my post the other night I ended up as Emdoc with my friend and her 7mth old baby who's hernia went bad, poor mite ended up in hosiptal overnight and they are operating on him today.

LOl B found out the name of his possible teacher yesterday , Mrs Dumper! how unfortunate is that

Right better go and see how the miserable patient is, he really is a MAN Love to all Beks

Hi to all . Thanks for the new thread RODEO - you are our official 'Threadster' . Sounds like B will have a great birthday - did you say the date? (so that dds can send a card); I'll look back over the other thread just in case [lazy emoticon!]. Oh BEKS, poor you with all that sickness , you must be shattered - and your poor friend too I think we can forget how gruelling it is looking after a sick child, esp. at night! Fingers crossed for a fast recovery for all .
Many thanks for all the advice on the screeching! Have tried LONDONERS 'get down on their level' (got slapped in face, niceee...; so have resorted to the 'no!' and walked away...then cuddled, so super-mixed mesages here! Am trying to predict any triggers, which seeems to be helping; think it is pure frustration (eg. taking away a bottle of juice that she was tipping over her head), but don't want to get into the habit of just giving in for an easy life. Can see I'm not alone with unhelpful siblings, lol ; dds screech back - not great when they are all sitting in back of car! We have the copycat table scenario too - at the mo' it's dd2 'encouraging' her to spit out food Arghhh!!! Why won;t they just do what they are told!!! .
Oh and feel much better RODEO and LONDONER after your stories of bedtimes . So I'm not the only one running up and down the stairs with increasingly loud huffing and puffing. Must be 4-5 times min with dds 1&2, starting very positive and Penelope Leach-like, and finishing with 'right, that's it!!!NO treats tommorrow, and certainly no parties'.
Well, a sort of respite tonight as I'm in the big smoke ready for meeting tommorrow - ahhh, a whole night's sleep..Are you all ???

Hi to everyone and a belated congratulations to Diege Well done! Sorry that it's taken me so long to post.

Will try to read everyone's news from the last thread over the weekend and post again then, I hope everyone is well.
We've finally booked our holiday and are going to Turkey, only DS2's passport left to do tomorrow and then the washing and packing. We will be staying in a villa in an unusual location (something that DH and I are really looking fwd to) but are only a short drive away from the well known beaches - looking fwd to seeing the Turtle Beach and Butterfly Island and DS2's reaction to being on an aeroplane etc.. now that he's that bit older than when we first travelled abroad with him. Villa comes with private pool so am thrilled to be able to swim in the outdoors and having a car means we can really explore - just hope the children will be okay. As you can tell, really excited and cannot wait I have a link to the place if anyone is interested - we got an excellent deal IMO!

Post over the weekend, DS1 is running around his room saying oh no, over and over again!!

Evening!
Just a quickie as we have no food in the house, so unfortunately dp has got to order a curry in!
Chacha, yes defo link please, sounds gorge!
Diege, enjoy your full night's sleep, you &%$£*! J had me up and down all through the night too, her molars are breaking through so that's her excuse at the mo! Bella will be 8 on the 5th July BTW, we're off on the 6th, back on the 8th, going to Abersoch, but heard it's full of Boden-ites! Is this true? Have you been?! (Doesn't matter anyway, I'm off to Turkey with Chacha, but don't tell her)
Beks, Wow at boy and girl! Yuk at the sick, poor him (and you!) hope he recovers quickly, some of these bugs last for ages, but I agree with docs that starving is the best plan of action (I'd personally hold out for 24hrs, if poss) and LOL at Mrs Dumper, why didn't she keep her own name when she married FGS?!
Londoner, hope you are in bed now and weren't too exhausted today! Thanks so much for sponsoring me too, you'll be pleased to know I ran tonight (in the rain - that's dedication!) so I'm all set for Tuesday, though don't think I'll be as fast as the motorbikes that are there at the weekend!Twinkle is back from Canada too, she's left a message on the old thread. She has got jet-lag though, so I'm sure she'll find us here soon enough! Just like Beks - pah! We'll try harder to shake her off next time
Where is this bloomin' curry (well, Lamb Tikka Set Tandoori Meal if you must know. With poppadoms and pickles)?! I'll get the plates out, that will make it arrive... Night x

Hello! and thanks for the new thread Rodeo (I always think about it, but never get round to it...you must read my mind!)

Beks - I could never forget you lot......despite you all hiding on another thread! Am hoping it all turns out well at the play group...but am now set to miss the next couple of weeks due to work and prior commitments...never mind.

My little terror had nasty nappies last weekend (Sunday) - he seemed fine in himself, but did 7 evil nappies from hell (minimum) kept his food plain the next day, cut out milk and dairy, gave him toast, banana and some jacket potato and so on, then he seemed back to normal - assumed it was jut something going round....he didn't appear ill tho, which was a blessing!

Gosh, just over a week till we go camping with the Brownies.....aaaggghhhh what am I letting mysefl in for!?

Right, off to bed now, as am shattered, not long been in from Yoga, and neck is really stiff - has been all day!

Speak later

Rodeo - I am a big curry fan, do you have a favourite? I love a Jalfrezi. I discovered some jars made by Pattacks, I use them to make a Jalfrezi or Rogan Josh in under half hour. Just need to fry and onion, add the paste from the jar, some fresh chopped tomatoes (nicer than from a tin), chicken breast (or beef/veg if preferred) and some water. I love it - cheaper and tastier (IMHO) than the local restaurant. We add chillies for an extra kick. I also make pakoras (bhajis?) from a packet and they are delicious. Sorry - I couldn't resist sharing that I am supposed to be looking for airport parking so best be off x

Oh Chacha, takeaway was soooo good, wish there was some left this morning but every morsel was scoffed last night! I get either usually get a patia or a peshwari, I like the sweeter ones, but last night I had lamb tikka with curry sauce. Our local takeaway is amazing - I would never be able to make anything that tasty! I've converted so many friends/aquaintances/total stangers(!) to go there. I think the owe me commission
Well my disgusting story of the morning....there's been a funny smell coming from the cupboard under the sink, progressively getting worse - but one I chose to ignore rather than investigate - finally got dp to sort it today and it turned out to be a bag of carrots that had fallen down the back and turned into a putrid liquified mass of goo!! Bleugh! Shame MN hasn't got a green heaving little face - because that was all of us earlier!

Rodeo - LOL at carrot stink

Sitting at the PC with a coffee for some sanity. We've all been up since v.early to make our 8am appointment in London and typically neither of the boys wants to sleep DS1 is rubbing his eyes and looking shattered but not giving in and DS2 is breaking his neck looking around in case he's missing anything...hopefully this means an early night!

How do i sterlise the bottles abroad - does anyone know? I better check the airport website for hand luggage too, will need to take lots of bottles (wonder if this is allowed) as we will be a night and day travelling.

Oh, and another thing, DS1 will not take well to all the different cups i'm giving him. I'm trying the ones with straws, different typed sippy bits etc.. but he just wants the bottle teat all the time. I can't stand it, how do i wean him off it without dehydrating him? Will wait of course till we return home, any suggestions pls?

Hope you all have a great night

Evening

Londoner, looking forward to next week too, have told Tex so we just need to pick a day now. Think any day but Monday is good for me at the moment.

T is still producing spectacular nappies and the little darling has passed it on to me now, so at least this should kick start the diet again, even thinking about cooking dinner is making me feel queasy!!!

Hoping to feel better tomorrow as we have dh's sister and family coming to stay for the night and I'm also supposed to be helping out at the school fete - won't be much use to them if I keep dashing off every 5 minutes

Rodeo lol at the carrots, they are rank aren't they when they go off Am also cultivating interesting potatoes in my cupboard, trying for a new life form at present, might be better behaved than my two after all

Chacha, hols sound fab. You can get milton sterilising tablets for the bottles, which will work fine in the sink or preferably a bowl of water.
As for the bottles for ds1 think you still have to taste all fluids before you are allowed to board the plane so a thermos flask of milk should be ok, best to check with the airline before you fly.

Am with you on escaping for a while, T has not slept at all today and is now whingey, especially as he's hungry and he didn't go down till 10pm last night. - Got to love them haven't you

Diege hope you had a nice nights sleep, last night, sorry but did have to lol at you getting a slap from L the other day - T does the same, we are just asking for trouble aren't we when we do that.

Right didn't mean to write a novel, have a great weekend all Beks

Hi! . Back from London, having had no more than 3 hrs sleep that night I was gloating about . There was a bloomin generator outside my window that went on and off at 5 min intervals; I was sooo cross, but resigned myself to a better night sleep when at home - but then train took 7 hours !!! (floooding on line)..so toinight is the one! dh out till late, so dr.who, then cracking on with the marking!
LOL BEKS at slapping babies (them on us I should say!!) - think L just throws everything she has, so more of a punchy fling . Had to laugh at her and dds this afternoon wathcing 'you've been framed', all three next to each other on the sofa, with L putting on a pretend laugh to 'fit in' with the others Oh no FEETHEART!!! Nightmare!! Have you tried baby sleeping bags? having said that, no he's mastered the technique, may be dangerous, what with no feet free! I've kept both dds in cots until 3, more to do with logistics of beds/rooms etc, but also to put off the inevitable knock on the bedroom door at 2am (yes, they knock..).
Oh and CHAHCHA, thinking about your bottle dilemma. I wouldn;t be too concerned, but I remember using some great 'training bottles' from Boots (own brand) that had a sort of teat mouthpiece, a cross between teat and drink cup sucker, very free flowing, and handles too. Might be worth a try? Hi to everyone else!! TWINKLE, tell us how Canada was!! !!RODEO, not long till race now, are you feeling prepared??
Right, dr.who is on!!! (anyone else lurve John Barrowman? )

Well, back from holiday early (again!), we are sooo rubbish at going away.

Didn't even notice this was a new thread! until I tried to do a bit of catching up

Chacha - we took the premade cartons of baby milk which was much easier. You're not supposed to take more than 100mls of liquid in any one container, but they do make exceptions for baby food it seems, although I had to tell security at every check point that I was carrying 3 cartons of milk with me. You may also be able to get hot water on the plane if it's a long journey, it may be worth checking with the airline (or make friends with the cabin crew ). Noo was very excited to be on the plane and apart from not wanting wear her seatbelt was amazingly behaved for both journeys. Miniman was also good, although his ears played up a bit on the decent back into london.

Will try to catch up this week, although DH is off for a week so I won't get much time on the computer. Miniman starts nursery next week so I'll get a WHOLE MORNING to myself every week - woo hoo!!

Welcome back Nova Hope you enjoyed your trip wherever you went. Thanks for the advice - we are leaving home at 1.30am and flying out at 7am - not sure what to do about clothes, should i put the kids in their PJs and change in the airport or what?
DS2's milk - not sure what to do? Will call airline/airport as suggested. To be leaving at the above time and probably getting to our villa 5pm local time next day so have to have plenty to hand.
Ohhhh Nova, a whole morning to yourself...how lovely!

Hi, hope you had a good time nova, where did you go?

When are you off to Turkey ChaCha?

Madness here. I can rival all your carrot & potato growing. I am growing mushrooms! Rememebr I said there was a mould patch on the kitchen floor, well I finally got round to investigating it today, and found a mushroom sticking out of the bottom of the cupboards. So I went to work with a hammer (very stress relieving) ripping out the kitchen units only to find lots of mud & more mushrooms on the floor. Still couldn't figure out why it was wet until I poured something down the sink, and it all pured out of a split pipe! So pipe now replaced, just waiting for insurance to get back to us about new floorboards, flooring, kitchen units, replastering....and still waiting to hear from installers about the damp treatment & new flooring in the conservatory from their bodged boiler installation!

On the plus side our lawm looks lovely. The rain came at the perfect time. Also, this is a pretty unbelievable My parents had the boysovernight on sat. TBH I think its only becasue my dad answered the phone and he said yes, i don't think my mum would have done! But anyway we had a weekend of peace, we went out early for a drink & a meal (white skirt, yellow top, bbq chicken wing, not a gooc combination I walked round for the rest of the night with my jacket (longer than my skirt!)tied round my waist with the sleeves carefully placed to hide the marks!). We were home by 8pm and I was asleep before 10pm. I must be getting old .

DP out tonight, (off sick for at least a month now) then I'm out again tomorrow, so I'm going to catch up on some house & cold case while he's out!

See ya!

Oh yes Beks, forgot to say that O was asking to see B again earlier! I really couldn't figure out what he was talking about... "Mummy, I want to see B who's 4" "You remember the one we saw at the beach and we threw stones in the water, he was wearing a stripey shirt" "We weent on the peir, and there was a helter skelter we didn't go on" By this point I'm nodding and agreeing thinking WTF? Then he said "They had a 3 wheeled pushchair" A-ha! It clicked that it was you he was talking about, so we'll hav to sort something out for the smmer hols.

Hi ya

GG what a nightmare, was sitting here with my hands over my mouth at the kitchen cupboards, pardon the pun but it never rains but it pours for you doesn't it. Hope the insurance company cough up quickly and that the other company come and sort out their mess - what a bunch of shysters.

Gobsmacked at your parents, how fab, did you think you'd rung the wrong number? Good for you for getting a weekend off, I notice you said you were in by 8pm and asleep by 10pm, I take it we should make our own minds up about what happened in the hour in between

Am really impressed about O remembering all that stuff about B, how cool is that. Will definitely arrange something for the hols. B is doing something for a week 13/8 and I'm babysitting for 3 days the following week, but free other than that so far.

Yay another House fan, have just found it on Channel 5 at lunchtime and am now hooked, did you know the whole series is starting again on 5 US from 10pm tonight, think I might have to watch!

After that little novella to GG, hi to everyone else.

Nova glad you had a good holiday, can we have the bits of holiday you leave, haven't managed one this year yet.

Quick question, does anyone elses child go into complete meltdown when they have their nails trimmed. B screamed the house down tonight yet again, you'd think we were killing him

Had a good time at the fete on Saturday, took loads on our stall, got wet but who cares. B won a tapas meal for two so has given it to me from him and T for my b'day next week - how sweet is that.

Right better go, hope everyone is well, will write a shorter note next time Beks

Evening!
Well it's not stopped raining here! My mum has had a flood warning today (EEK!) she lives next to a brook near to where it joins up to the river. She can't get her hands on any sandbags so she's moving all the stuff she can upstairs and peering at the brook every 5 seconds for any developments! Fingers crossed everyone please!
Loads to catch up on....
GG at your boy-less sat night! Where did you go? Oh no at your mushrooms! Quite fancy the thought of Grow Your Own maybe not in cupboards though!
Chacha, good luck with your journeys! I haven't been abroad with small children ever - I'm not brave enough to cope with the journeys and time at the airport! You'll have a lovely relaxing week to get over them though - just keep that thought in the darkest moments!
Nova, did you enjoy your hols? Hope everything is ok and reason for early departure was just a preference thing! Aww at Noo on the plane
Diege, how long are you marking for this time? Hope you've caught up on your sleep! Oh and we LOVE YBF in our house too!! How cute of L trying to join in!
Beks, are you better yet? Hope the rest of yuor family have managed to avoid it But on the plus side, have you lost any lbs?!
Yes my run (it might be a swim in places!) is tomorrow, and thanks so much for the sponsorships girls!

Hey Feetheart!
Well, am wondering how to carry on with so many acts to juggle these days, am using online calendar with different colours for all but obv have to remember to look at damn thing first so thinking about a big white board for the kitchen or something - how do you all organise yourselves? I've got so many letters from different schools, appts for doctors/dentists/opticians the list goes on.
Baby is asleep and am having a cup of tea and some olives for a recharge, but only because if I eat any more of those flapjacks the kids will be cross.
Suppose I'd better do some work then! Bye.
