Nappy leaking!

Hi,

Almost every wet nappy my 10 day old boy has is leaking. Sometimes it feels like the nappy is completely dry and he's managing to pee out the top/side straight onto his clothes!

Am I using crap nappies or am I putting them on wrong?

Have you pointed the little man down the way when putting on?
Have you untucked both the lining and the frills around his bum? (sweeping motion with your finger back to front works for me).
Are they on tight enough? Usually squeeze 2 fingers in at the top so room to move.

All said my DD is BF and her poop has leaked until now she is 6mo and eating semi solids!

On my second child and this still happens. I think i need to go up a size. My first child has skinny legs so would just leak. Maybe ensure its fastened across hip joint or waist direction.
