Start using Mumsnet Premiumany managed to fit a stairgate to a round thick bannister help!
(5 Posts)Anyone have thick round bannisters to the top and bottom of stairs. You can buy pressure fit adaptors for a round pole upto 5cm but our top and bottom pole is thicker than this. Do you think I'll just have to by screw fit ones and screw it in didn't really want to put holes in our nice bannister
We screwed ours in....!
Thanks I think this is what we need to do oh my lovely wooden bannister think it will end up with holes filled in and then painted white after done with kids to cover up the mess!
A retractable one won't avoid holes but might be less obtrusive?
I might look at the retractable ones I've seen a nice wooden one on safetots that I think would screw into a curved surface as the bracket is long and thin
