(5 Posts)Hi All
This may seem so so basic but I have not got a clue when or how to put my
Newborn to bed.
We spent about 8 days in hospital (neonatal) where of course the nurses did everything and now I am home
I haven't a clue.
What does everyone else do?
What time do you put them to bed?
We have our wee man sleeping in our room but keep him with us in the living room until we go to bed but I'm finding he is too over tired and wide awake however if I put him to bed at 8pm in the room alone he then cries .... can't find a happy
Medium.
Does everyone swaddle?
I am not sure how I should be wrapping him
Sorry too many questions
Thanks in advance xxx
Hiya I have an 11 day old, I usually give him a feed bout 11 then he sleeps until 3am has a 4oz bottle, wakes for an hour or so then goes back to sleep until 7. They won't get in to routine until they no what day and night is!
Good luck
Your baby should always be in the same room as you. That doesn't mean he has to stay awake. Could you set up a moses baslet in your sitting room for baby to sleep in until you are ready to go to bed?
Yes that's what we do we have his bassinette with us in the living room but as soon as we move to bed he wakes and we can't settle him again.
Doesn't help he's cluster feeding. So far it's 2.43 am and no sleep
It's only early days. You'll figure out what he does and doesn't like. We always swaddled DS. There are good instructions on youtube, you'll quickly get the hang of it.
