Start using Mumsnet PremiumTongue tie
(2 Posts)Not really sure if this is the right place for my question so if anyone has a better suggestion of where to post please let me know!
DD is nearly 7 weeks. Just wondering if HCP routinely check for a tongue tie when infants are born? I'm wondering if my daughter has one as it kind of looks that way and she's a very clicky feeder (am ebf). Wondering whether to get her checked out or if there's any point if it's routinely screened for.
TIA for any information
My son had a tongue tie (gets it from me) and we spotted it & mentioned it to every midwife we spoke to until I got an appointment to have it cut (it took until he was six weeks old).
If you have concerns you need to be proactive. They won't necessarily spot a tongue tie & they won't always suggest cutting.
Good luck
