Nannycare goats milk from newborn - feedback please?

I'm going to bottle feed my baby when it is born next month. My midwife recommended Nannycare as she said goats milk is similar to breast milk and that this one had reputation for being better tolerated by babies. Can anyone recommend it as it's quite pricey? If you use it do they have travel sizes and, if not, what do you do when you go out?

It's only recently been licenced to be used as formula. Tbh I would use cows milk based that you can also get in cartons and see if that is tolerated first

Oh really? Yes I can't see any travel sizes so it might be too much hassle. It has excellent reviews on Amazom.

I've been using it with dd from 8 weeks, she tolerates it far better than cows formula which gave her terrible reflux.

I did lots of research into it and it seems like the best option given than breast milk was sadly no longer available.

I checked all the vitamin/mineral levels which are at or above daily recommended dose. I also add a powdered probiotic.

She's totally thriving on it as far as I can tell and the previous ban on Nannycare seemed to have no grounding at all. It's is pricy though - £60 a month but heck, she's worth it!

Oh, no travel sized but it's easy to take out - I take a sterilised bottle - a flask of boiled water and a plastic pot with measured out formula already in it.

I would say - if bf is remotely a possibility, I would seriously recommend doing at least the first few weeks - the change to formula (which was totally necessary) really mucked around with her tiny tummy and made life very difficult for a while,

scoobyloobyloo thanks for the info. I thought that I would have to add some kind of multivitamin as I thought it didn't have enough. Yes I suppose I can measure some out. I'm just wondering if I should just try Aptamil first. Breastfeeding not possible.

No worries- you go with whatever you are most comfy with - maybe if Aptamil doesn't suit her then give Nannycare + a prebiotic a try.

Dr Browns bottles are great for stopping wind/colic and you can use them from birth.

Enjoy your new baby :)
