I blame sleep deprivation Ark! Or DP. He has a habit of dropping the nappies on the floor with DS's soiled clothes when we've had an up-the-backer incident, rather than putting them in the nappy bin. I expect I scooped the whole lot up together without noticing the hidden land mine in the middle. Come to think of it, it could have been an awful lot worse.

DS has slept nearly all day today and has been asleep on this stint since 4.50pm. I was grateful initially as I have a stinking cold and was struggling with his grumpiness today, but now I'm terrified I'm going to have a rough night with him. I may be mn'ing a lot tonight... Can he possibly manage to sleep all night as well? Please, please, please.

Tbh I've put a disposable nappy in the dirty cloth nappy bucket before now (cloth in day, disposable at night here) so I can see how it would happen, it's just that I caught it pretty much straight away.
I have a poorly DH tonight. He's never ill so I'm spoiling him and hoping he doesn't give it to ds.

DD is asleep and no one is holding her! This hasn't happened for a while except if in the pram or car. Like someone at the end of the last thread (anna?)'s DC, I feel like she has reverted to sleeping like a newborn in that sense. I had better do some tidying up. I could start the ironing, but I bet she would wake up as soon as I get it out.

anna so sorry to hear your dad has deteriorated so quickly. Hope the GP is sympathetic

Hmmm wonder if I'm in for a rubbish night too thisis she knows when DP is at his mums and usually wakes up a good 3 hours ahead of normal. We've just had a huge meltdown and when she stopped crying I got up to have a wee and came back to her fast asleep in her car seat! Usually she's awake and putting away milk like no ones business so wondering if she's feeling a bit crap

I think there's some growth spurts going on here. Dd has had 6 naps today and feeding non stop. Tonight she's not settling, not unhappy but just waking up every half an hour (with a big smile on her face) and needing resettling, only takes 5 minutes to get her off again though.

How did it go Ark? Amazingly, after having slept all day, DS slept all night too just waking up for feeds just like he used to in the beginning. Im assuming he must be growing. The other weird thing is that he's gone from pooing once every couple of days to filling every single nappy in the last 48 hours, again just like he used to as a newborn. I haven't had to do night time nappy changes for ages and last night between 9 and 7 this morning he went through 4

I'm on lactulose for a short while as despite drinking loads of water and fennel tea I'm struggling with constipation. The doctor knows I'm breastfeeding and still prescribed it but I'm wondering whether that's having an effect on him as well? Or is it just an unfortunate coincidence?

Well I woke her up for a bottle and a nappy change at 10 and didn't really wake up so was back to bed by quarter past! Slept till half 5 then took her to bed with me and we both woke up at half 7!!

thisis we did exactly the same about a week ago. A disposable ended up in the reuseable nappy bin. So many little bits of stuff!

Health visitor came this morning. Getting a referral to physio as she thinks DS has a mild case of tortulitus (?), doesn't turn to the left a lot. She said she isn't worried about it just doesn't want it to be an issue when he starts to sit up.

Hmmm. DD hasn't changed since I last got her weighed 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping that it's because of the stomach bug this weekend.

Thanks all, GP has started me on anti-depressants as he was reluctant to start me on anything for anxiety as they're habit-forming. He says even though I'm not technically depressed, they may still help with coping. And its definately coping thats the issue. Poor man was shocked at my story. Its shocking to see how shocked other people are, if that makes sense. Makes it sickeningly real.

Dad is being discharged home tomorrow. To die, basically. He'll be delighted to come home. I'm moving myself and DS into my parents house to help take care of him. My sis is moving in too. Our Mum is elderly and in poor health so can't do much. Our husbands will come and go. Thats the plan, anyway.

So going to have to pack up everything tonight - Moses basket and all!

We were going to bring the travel cot but then realised how much we rely on rocking to settle him so Moses basket is best. This then led to "oh shit, we've made ourselves reliant on rocking!" So I'd better find another method before he has to go into a cot!

Was someone saying they had noticed a difference poo wise? Babyfloople (bf) was doing 4 or 5 small poos a day, then a few weeks ago changed to once every couple of days and for the last 4 days is now doing 2 huge ones a day.

Never quite realised how much poo obsessing would be involved in parenthood.......

anna the whe situation sounds awful. Glad your doctor was helpful. I know it's not really any comfort (not sure anything would be right now really) but your dad will love having you, your DS and your sister with him at home.

Floople Dd usually goes twice a day, once when I'm eating my lunch ( it's like clockwork) and usually once in the evening. But I ate my lunch with no nappy interruptions today. I'm tempted to start dinner to see if she goes!

Second jabs today so I've got a grumpy baby now

DD is obsessed with trying to sit up. She's going to have a six pack if she keeps continually trying to sit up from lying down. Even the car seat isn't upright enough now so I've just bought a bumbo type thing for her off a friend

So I was looking for the new thread and did a "what older babies are up to" lurk in October and September threads. Guess what, October ones are having exactly the same conversations as us: short naps, settling probs, sleep routines etc etc, nothing too new. So I guess it is another month ahead of the same stuff.

Dd for last 3 days has started whining and yelping sounds of a poppy. Sooo weird, she just kicks off without any apparent reason, just lies around and yelps. And now she sits on DH watching TV completely fascinated and making noises "uu-aa-guu" as if having conversation about what's on the screen.

We have that here too strawberry. It gets louder with the odd yelp too like she's just seeing what she can do with her voice. Dp called me today and I managed to answer from my pocket and he heard me and babydolly having a full on conversation in the car!

Strawberry I lurk occasionally on the Oct thread too and am always alarmed at how similar it sounds! Dammit!

My DS doesn't really babble that much. He does the odd time, but on the whole he's fairly mute. He smiles a good bit but only giggles properly when on the changing table which he finds hilarious for some reason. I'm a bit paranoid that other kids are chattering away 24/7!
