Oooh, shiny new bus! Yay.

Hope everyone feels better soon. I'm finally feeling better after 4 weeks of head colds and sinus infections. DH also had nasty D&V on Monday but DS and I seem to have avoided it. No idea where he got it from!

DS howls sometimes if you take his clothes off and then howls again when you put them back on. Nappy changes also a challenge sometimes. Never occurred to me to put the nappies on backwards when he's pointing his bum up at me. Xmas Hmm

Was really looking forward to this weekend as my parents were coming over to do Christmassy things. This is the only time I'll see my family over Christmas but my Dad's hurt his neck, badly, so they can't come. Obviously it's not important in the grand scheme of things and his health is more important but can't help but be disappointed. I might shoot over there at the weekend and leave DS at home with DH - it'll be my first night away from DS if I do!

Aww Lor that really stinks that you're dad is hurt and that it's changing your plans. I hope you will be able to head up and see him! Please keep us updated on how he's doing!

So apparently he has some 'wear on his neck bones'. He's had a slipped disc in his lower back before and I get the impression this is similar. He's seeing a consultant today. Good news is that they kept him in last night so he got the good drugs and he got some rest after a few horrendously painful nights. Also meant my mum could get some rest at home on her own.

Hopefully they'll keep him in a few days until it settles down but I'm flying over tomorrow morning (6.50 flight from Heathrow! Xmas Shock ) and back on Sunday morning but my mum is thrilled I'm popping over. I have a suitcase packed full of presents and practically nothing else (a pair of knickers and socks and a toothbrush!) but it's small enough for carry-on.

bring the situation with your drama-llama mama sounds really tough. Good that you have siblings who you can share it with though, and that you know what happened and can remind each other that what you're feeling is valid and shared. Very hard to deal with I'm sure.

The concert sounds adorable. Pics of M in her frock please!

Ooh ouchie mama, that sounds very painful indeed. That is a quick (and very early) trip over and I hope the Heathrow experience is stress-free (is it ever though? Hmm). It'll be good to see your folks!

M has a new word... Nonies. For my breasts Hmm. Not quite sure how on earth she has come up with this word but when she wants to nurse she shouts "nonies!"

Hey lovely, hope your trip isn't being affected by the closure of airspace today. Shout if you get diverted to Manchestrr, I live at the end of the runway!

N likes to talk to my boobs, she calls them Beeboes. She is also obsessed by my bra. She says Bra and tries to put it on, but mostly it goes on her head..... She made me breastfeed a meercat this morning whilst she nursed a penguin but I suppose this is what you get when you feed them so long!

Tee-hee! I love it Lib! M hasn't tried to bf'd anything yet. It's funny though because she gets mighty jealous when I give another kid a hug and she'll push them away and try to assume the "nonies" position. She is always cracking me up! I'm looking forward to see what she does on stage tonight... I will post a pic Wink

Lib ~ hope you're having an OK time with your family under the circumstances. Hope your dad is well on the mend now Thanks I'm sure your presence is much appreciated and has no doubt cheered him up!

What cute stories of the little girls bf their cuddly toys and protecting their milk machines Grin Bpear was horrified that his milk machine went out for dinner last night with friends. He always senses when I'm dressed up ready to go even though I keep the routine the same and spray perfume after I've put him down. He just knows somehow. I feel like I'm wearing a milk tag round my ankle that sets off when I shut the front door Grin

Bpear is going through a mega mega clingy stage with DH. They're inseparable. My tendinitis has actually cleared up because of it Grin I'm only a little annoyed that DH can't see why it's happening. DH annoyingly allows him access to his Iphone, iPad and the exciting man cave full of exciting gadgets. What kid wouldn't cotton on that being a daddy's boy is the most sensible option right now Wink

TTC update: day26 and I still haven't ov!!!! Well my cbfm hasn't peaked yet, still showing High Fertility for 6 days now. There is no icon to show the amount of frustration on my face Grin Still desperately trying to continue EOD.

Thinking about watching Elf and wrapping presents tonight Smile

Oh man, that does sound frustrating Pear! I'm sure your DH is loving this lack of ovulation though Wink Mine was whole-heartedly disappointed that we got preg on the first cycle with M and that we didn't have more "practice time". Poo on the anti-present-wrapping Scrooge over there! You should start singing "It's my Christmas and I'll wrap if I want to" at him whilst wrapping to your little heart's content.

M just had DH put her hair into a ponytail. She wouldn't let me do it, it had to be DH. She won't sit still when I try to fix her hair! WTH? Hmm

And, as promised:

Frus, have they hit the screaming age because we're experiencing something v similar?

I wanted to ask for tantrum advice because Bpear has just turned 3 Hmm I made a lovely chicken roast for tea yesterday. When it came to sitting down he refused to sit in his chair and threw his food in the air after we tried many different ways of getting him to sit down. He was pointing to DH to go upstairs, we assume he wanted DH to take him to his man cave. Anyway, this has never EVER happened before because bpear loves his food, especially a roast. In the end he was screaming so much we put him in the hallway and let him have his tantrum. He cried and screamed for the whole meal. I then tried to calm him down but he ended up in such a state that he screamed for 1 hour no joke. The only thing that calmed him down was taking him to his bedroom and bf him. He then swiftly went to bed without dinner. WTH was that all about? Now wondering whether maybe he was asking to go to bed. It's just such crazy and unusual behaviour from him. I'm now dreading Christmas lunch at out house Shock So, in these circumstance what would have everyone else done? My sister who joined us for dinner afterwards suggested we tried putting him the cot next time as he's too young to understand the naughty step. What would you have done to calm him down? Should I have not left him to CIO in the hallway as that made it worse?

I use the naughty step or hall pear, she knows enough when she's being naughty that shel cuddle tiger after and me

For bad behaviour I tend to just pick a random spot in the room, usually a corner or against the wall, & sit him in it. I'll then either sit or stand nearby holding one finger out until I'm ready for him to get up. I never make Runt sit for more than about 30 seconds. Seems to do the trick & then he'll have to hug me before he can go back to playing.

Tantrums are dealt with differently though. If he's just being obstinate then he's ignored until he's calmed down enough that I can distract him. If he's genuinely upset & I can't figure out why then I'll sit nearby & wait for him to give me some indication of what he needs. I've yet to experience a prolonged tantrum like Bpear's though!

I know I said I'd not be around much this week but it looks like that might not be true... Apparently we're going to spend our afternoons in silence with just one-word responses if I attempt a conversation! Hmm She didn't even get up until gone 11! Calf spent half the morning asking if he could go wake her up! Kids these days! Wilfully forgets that I'd have spent all day in bed with depression at her age!
