Waves a blurry eyed good morning to everyone & goes about business of revving up the engines for another day at the baby rearing coal face! Hmm

Tatty your post made me laugh out loud. I reckon your baby will suddenly just burst through the toes of their grow suit! Sounds like a mega feeding frenzy.

Yellow where did you get probiotics from? And how do you give them if bf?

Fedup I'm sure you are. I hope by giving him a lie in he returns the favour by giving you a well earned break today.

happy sounds like fast let down/oversupply to me. N goes mad thrashing away if I feed him off a really full boob. I have to take him off, let the milk spraying out go into a muslin and then pop him back on so he can cope better.

kirsti your piles sound like mine and they are internal. Can't use cream then so doctor was going to give me a pessary but then said he couldn't as I was bf!!! So just need to keep poo soft with lots of water and fibre and lactulose if need it

I hope so sazzle but I doubt it. If he does function he will be doing jobs / the garden. My turn for lie in tomorrow whether he likes it or not after his work sodding party tonight

Haha, boyfriend got in to my milk and sick stinking bed this morning, I was asleep and had pip in with me - she was lying between us. He put a hand on my boob, which shocked me awake then said how about I come over there and interfere with you a bit. Erm, no.

I have a recommendation for toys - Lamaze. I got given one and it's great, all the right multisensory stuff going on. I was going to start collecting stuff for a sensory box, even though she's too young to go through it herself, but this toy sort of does it all for now. It's cool now she's getting in to stuff, especially since she has clear preferences. Can see little bits of her personality emerging.

kirstie it's okay. If it sorts a solution out its worth it.
Worst night ever!! Not sure what went so wrong. Dylan woke up at 1:30 which is really rare for him. Dh gave him his bottle and he settled within the hour and we were all back to bed. He woke up at half 4 which is closer to his usual wake up time, crying crying, couldn't settle him. He wanted feeding again so I fed him but he still wouldn't settle!! He ended up with him sleeping on his chest at 6:30. Ugh! I hope he gives that up and goes back to his since a night wake ups!
fedup he needs to suffer, a nice poonami should sort his hangover out Wink

Oh and I'm amazed by the feeding noise too. I thought about recording her at the boob, particularly at night when it's really loud, and playing it as a soundtrack over a montage of breastfeeding photos - you know, the ones with beautiful woman with perfect blond hair, tanned skin and clean clothes, sitting upright on a white sofa without eye bags, gently holding her clean and serene baby to her chest. Thought it might contrast nicely with the thrashing, growling, snuffling violent sounding experience that it really is! Not to mention the real visuals.

Better night than expected post jags, just one feed but plaintive mewls of distress if I so much as twitched mid feed. She's not feeding brilliantly with the thrush as her mouth is sore but managing to drain both sides but veeeeerrry slowly.

Sazzle we use probiota infant probiotics you can get them from Amazon - I'm coating a clean finger with them and popping it in her mouth, thanks to the suckle reflex she can't help herself! She looks massively offended afterwards Grin

Fedup yep hungover baby herding is entirely appropriate. Not my choice of activity post work party but he's left you no option yuk yuk.

Goats ahhh blokes and their delicate enticements... my DH cottoned on pretty quick that the new Dads with the most comparable to pre baby sex lives were the ones helping out the most with their baby - as tired, stressed, infant bodily fluid covered women do not, as a rule, natural sex kittens, make.

Goats the word 'interfere'mwde me laugh. Ahhh what a romantic suggestion!!
And yes Lamaze are amaze. (Sorry, not sorry) Everyone we got given last time for ds1 has stood the test of time and they really are unisex excellent and not twee either which I like.

On a completely different mon baby note did anyone see that horrid black Friday tesco video? I mean seriously.... I had to go into town yesterday to meet friends at the park and the people out shopping desperate for bargains just seemed so dirty and wrong. I'm trying so hard this year to buy less and more from local shops. I really don't want my childrwn growing up obsessed with having stuff.

HeySmile marking my place, dp is deffo doing the nightfeed tonight, i feel by the weekend its like groundhog day Hmm but im putting up the xmas tree tonight .., so excited Grin. Going to make glittery decorations with dd later on and maybe have a wee glass of prosecco.

Anyone noticing that parents/ inlaws are not that keen on babysitting a second born ? My mil announced the other night that she is "anxious" about taking a baby overnight.. This is her third grandchild??? So i think what she basically was saying was" dont expect me to babysit her until she's atleast four"Shock she's young, fit and fab at fifty so i was a bit like Hmm " aye no bother love , you take her when all the rough bits have been and gone, and me and your son have been at our wits end for four years when a wee night off together once in a while would have been like christmas come early" she also said " i wish they would come out at her age" (referring to dd1) she has not so much as offered to take her out for a walk in the pram and let me get a bath in peace, im so annoyed as she doesnt work 3 weekends out of the month, so think she could put in a bit more effort tbh, i would run to the ends of the earth for my kids to help them out if i had too, she doesnt give a hoot and its pissing me right offAngry ... Wow rant over Angry

STIGZ yep GPs both sides are thrilled I'm BF so they don't have to do any overnight help. I think its a baby boomer thing, they're used to being told by advertisers that its all about them.

Hugs stigz it's so annoying when family especially your own mum who has been through it are useless. I knownif my mum were alive she would help out all the time, she was such a loving kind person. My mil is completely clueless hence us sending her home after 1 day post birth. She never does anything with older 2 either.

OH is going out tonight it's his friends suprise 30th party. He normally has v every evening so I can get a few hours sleep will miss it tonight. He is an amazing dad I love him so much. Agree with yellow in that he does everything he can to make my life/our life easier is pretty selfless and that makes me want him more, though I'm usually too tired to do anything about it though.

One of our (mainly dp's) friend is going with him to party and staying over tonight so I've beig trying to tidy this pig sty while dp is pulling up weeds.

Ano its so bloody frustatingAngry must be really tough me when you would give anything for your mum to be in your mil's position Sad

My mum has been a star & i cannot fault her, but she's not feeling great just now so i would never expect her to take my kids when she is feeling like shit, but she has a made an effort and has took them to give us a break! i was telling my mil this the other night and thats when she announced her "anxiety " issues??? But what pissed me off was she said " i mean i didnt really enjoy my own as babies... If it wasnt for my family i dont know what i would have done" ? My dp said she doesnt realise how hard it is as she was lucky enough to have 5 sisters who was there at the drop of hat, im just thankful for my own mum, dont know what i would do without her tbh so i know i shouldnt be moaning but it really upsets dp that his own mum just doesnt seem interested Sad

Sorry for ignoring everyone's comments for the moment, I haven't caught up with the thread.

I'm having a momentary panic however about ranitidine. So everyone who has been prescribed it is saying the baby is on 0.3-0.5ml for each dose is that right? So why is my baby on 5mil? As in a whole syringe worth twice a day. Before utterly panicking about overdosing baby I thought I'd check on here - is it a solution you've been given that is highly diluted? I think that's what we have. It is like water in consistency. Had 100mil bottle at first to last us 10 days and now 300mil. Pharmacist says it has to be used within 28 days however so we won't actually get through the 300mil.

Agh reflux mums please put my mind at ease or tell me to call a professional if you think it's not right!

Report
YellowWellies · 29/11/2014 13:30

Captain go and see a pharmacist as ranitidine solution can be made up in different strengths so 5ml could be OK if you have a weak solution - but I know for the solution we have 0.5ml x3 a day is the maximum a 4kg baby should be on - pop to Boots asap just in case. Jonas was once prescribed 4x the safe dose of a drug by mistake, mistakes can happen.

Ha ha, men and their hopeful advances! DH is on the whole amazing and adores his little son but come 10pm I am so zzzzzzz....

Does anyone find their baby a bit 'rigid'? It worries me a bit. All this do bicycle legs to get gas out -M just won't cooperate and won't bend his legs (he can of course, just on his own terms - the more I try and position him the more he resists). Ditto trying to get him to unclench his fists. And when feeding, has to have his underneath arm a certain way, if I move it he makes it very hard (makes a ferocious groan!). He's not a baby that needs too many cuddles I don't think. Happy to be held but hates the classic baby up on the shoulder position. Will fall asleep in arms only directly from the boob/milk coma. He is very strong too and the moment his feet touch something he is pushing back trying to stand with his legs. On the who.e a calm and sweet little thing, will focus for ages on random things (but not the four bloody Lamaze toys he was given!). Smiles at his daddy and cot toy, and me. Does it sound normal?

Report
YellowWellies · 29/11/2014 14:45

Fatpony sounds normal to me! Though the strong stand makes me think you're going to have a physical wee chap who moves early too. Its hard not to read too much personality in their limited actions at this age but its not particularly accurate from our experience. I thought Jonas was an utter angel until he started to move and I realised he'd just been plotting what to trash first for months!!! Grin

Report
fatpony · 29/11/2014 14:52

yellow thanks! yes I think he is plotting world domination the way he cooly studies everything. I feel just from his physical movements that he has a strong opinion on things (nuts I know) so that I even anxiously tell well meaning people that stroke his hair, touch his face or put him up on their shoulder 'he doesn't like that really' and then they look at me like the bonkers lady I am.
