Hello all.

Thought I would start this as I know I few people have been asking for a weight loss thread so as we can support each other. I thought we could start with a list of members and some basic stats (I.E, current weight, goal weight and total amount you therefore want to lose). Maybe make Thursday weigh-in day (since I weighed myself this morning I may as well continue with Thursday!)? Good luck to everyone! xx

I'll start:
Kitkat1985:
Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds.
Goal weight 10 stone.
Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.

Can I join this too please?
But just as a suggestion (say no if you want to) I've learnt over the past few years that using measurements alongside weight is also helpful especially if you are chucking in some activity to help the weight loss. You'll gain muscle but end up trimmer so the scales alone aren't the best indicator of your progress.
Usually waist @ narrowest part & hips.

Misog2000 if you can't find one good ol' Amazon to the rescue

Not sure how long delivery is. But it doesn't matter if we don't start straight away with measuring. Smile

I've only lost 10lb since Emily was born and she was 7lb3! I'll be renewing my Weight Watchers subscription tomorrow, I don't go to meetings I just use the app to keep my points in check but I find it helpse with portion control which is my major issue.

Hello to all!

Right so current member stats are:
Kitkat1985: Current weight 11'10 and a half pounds. Goal weight 10 stone. Total therefore to lose: 24 and a half pounds.
Coolcat2014: Stats to follow.
*TeamEponine: Stats to follow.
*ShowmeShowmeTheWine: Total to lose to reach goal weight 3 and a half stone.
Misog2000: Total to lose to reach goal weight 2 stone.
Zanashar: Goal weight is 10 stone. Total to lose to reach goal is 11lb.
Cookielove: Stats to follow.

Has anyone got any plans on how best to shift weight? I normally have calories counted in the past but not sure how many calories a day I would need at the moment what with breast feeding to take into account as well? There's also a local 'buggyfit' class I'm thinking of going to but it's in the next town and starts at 9.30am which is going to be tricky as at the moment getting myself and Jessica dressed before lunchtime is a challenge! Lol! xxx

Kitkat your days sound very much like mine @ the moment. We've managed once to be dressed and out for 10am in last two weeks and that was only to do a click and collect pick up for food shop! No buggy fit near me so I've decided to do a workout DVD @ home once I figure out how to hook the player up to the TV. I'll aim for 2-3 times per week as well as possibly starting jogging once I'm pain free ( still some way from that )
Pre pregnancy I used to do an outdoors bootcamp couple of times a week as well as weights @ gym. Impossible to fit that in around DDHmm
Food-wise I'm planning to reduce flour (gluten is evil but oh so tasty!) apart from @ weekends and go for lower GI options (sweet potatoes instead of normal, basmati rice instead of normal) less carbs and more protein where possible.
Porridge for breakfast or a fry up but without any bread. Confused I have loved bread and potatoes these past 9 months but ive a wedding to attend in four weeks!!

Oh and I've read on average you need 2500-3000 calories daily if you're BFing.

Hello weighed myself last night, sad times! !

I am thinking long term I need to loose 3-4 stone, short term I'll go for 7lb a month.

TeamEponine · 05/10/2014 20:35

Right, I need to lose 11lb. Would like to lose it by Christmas if I can. I'm not good with exercise, and I'm not able to do anything until 6 weeks post section. Given that I'm breastfeeding I think I'm just going to try to avoid junk food and slowly build up the distance that I walk for now. After my six week check I'll see how things are and come up with something a bit stricter and more structured.

Cookie, glad someone else has similar amount to lose. Any plans on how you want to do it? I really need to cut down the sugar but it's the only thing keeping my energy up what with night feeds and ebf! Feel shocking without it.
Also want to start exercising again but need to wait for bleeding to stop first.

show I am hoping to go back to an aerobic class I was doing before I fell pregnant. I think my body is up for it. Ds is almost 8 weeks. Also picking back up my badminton group which is 1hr week. The problem is with ds still struggling to sleep i don't want to exhaust my self if I am not getting enough sleep either :(

Maybe I should just stick to diet for now, although chocolate tastes so good Blush

I'm going to struggle time wise to get to a class. Not sure I've the motivation to keep up something at home plus it's easier to catch up on sleep or tv and choc when they're sleeping

I never weighed myself all pregnancy...then when I was in labour I got weighed and was horrified that I had put on nearly 4 stone !!
I haven't had the guts to weigh myself again...although i think i've lost a lot of water weight and plus my baby was 8lb 11ozs. I still look pregnant though - although only about 5 months now lol.
Today I am gonna go for a walk and I've started earing healthily. I will weigh myself next Monday officially ! It's only been 13 days since I gave birth but I feel (and look like) a slob !!
My target weight is 9 1/2 stone - what I weighed pre-preg.

I was loosing weight when I got pregnant and cotinued to loose in the first 16 weeks ish so I only I put on a stone and a half I think but because I was tubby before I want to loose more than just my pregnancy gain! If that makes sense

I am nowhere near actually doing any sort of activity just yet with DD just being over 2 wks at the minute I'm pretty much glued to HER side. Smile Not that I'm complaining.
Foodwise all the sorts of good I am planning to be will have to wait until I've got BFing sorted. Currently eating as any biccies and cakes in between meals to keep the supplies up. Also I like to bake which means there's always cake to be eaten too! Wink

AIBU to be annoyed @ DH for commenting that Monica from Friends was "mmmmmm, looking good!" whilst I'm sat there with my two weeks and two days post partum gut sitting in my lap whilst I'm feeding DD who hasn't settled despite this being her third feed on the hour since 7pm?
I think he's an absolute nobber right now, and have just shed a few tears at what I think is his insensitivity.
Am I overreacting?

zanashar - no you are not being unreasonable - that would send me into floods of tears too ! Although in fairness he probably doesn't mean to upset you or understand how sensitive you are at the moment. I ended up crying yesterday when my 11 year old daughter joked "did they leave a twin in you" about the size of my belly.

Today I went for a 2 hour walk with the baby - don't think my stitches are too happy - but I need to feel like I'm doing something.

No you're not being unreasonable Zanashar. Men can be quite tactless sometimes.

Well done you Jaykay on the walk. I wanted to go for a walk yesterday but it poured with rain.

Suspect I'm not doing well this week. I'm permanently hungry and all I want is sugary food yesterday I had two cream cakes. Sad

He knows now not todo that again!
First time in a week and we are up and (almost) dressed! I just have to wake, feed and change DD and dress myself within next 60 mins, so some sort of activity today is looking quite hopeful!
Food wise I'm having porridge (I hate porridge!) but can't resist having a touch of honey in it and have to have with milk (how do ppl manage it with water and no sweetness?)
Will do a weigh in later today to see if last week has been successful in anyway.
