Congratulation panicmechanic. We have a beautiful daughter who is 19 days old!
We also have 8y/o DS.
Just enjoying being a mum even during the night duties, which is customary now just past midnight!

I was about to start a thread here too!
My little one was born a month early on the 10th of June. She had a rough start with fluid on her lungs and needed a ventilator for a couple of days, then needed the lamps for jaundice. We got home then we were put back to hospital as she wasn't feeding well and losing weight .
She is gaining weight now and seems none the worst for her traumatic start that has taken years off her mummy's life expectancy!Grin
She is such a chilled baby in comparison to the diva that her big 3 year old sister has been since birth. She rarely cries and makes little noise.
We are using micro sized nappies at the moment and tiny baby clothes. Everything seems so little. Dd1 is very petite for her age but now looks huge!
Can't wait to here about all the other June babies and hope everyone is settling into their new "normal". I'm finding the transition from 1 child to 2 much easier than no children to 1.

Not sure if i'll be here or on July thread as DS decided that he didn't want to come out when he's supposed to so I "fell off" the thread as had nothing to say about babies still being pg and jealous like hell

DC2 was apparently due today, don't think it will make an appearance in the next 15 minutes so there's waiting game starting again...

Hope you're babies are easy :)

Hi Ladies
Can'r believe how little computer time I get. My DS2 is almost 3 weeks and currently asleep in his pram after a long walk around. I give it 5 more mins!

Hi my gorgeous Ds3 arrived this week and my other two are 3y 10m and 21 months. Only been at home two days but I'm struggling to get any sleep! Little monkey was amazing in hospital and slept for 5 hours both nights, which was unheard of with my first two. But now we are home he is only managing one hour stretches at night. Any advice?

Congratulations all x I agree Irb the sleep is a killer. My DD wakes up between 2-3am for a feed and social time! It takes about an hour to settle her back then she is up by 6.40am!
The joys of new baby, I would not change it though! We will just have to work on it.

Hooray I've made it to postnatal!

Have been feeding most of tonight and now she is pooping for Britain. Oh the joys of a new born.

Hoping for at least some sleep tonight but tbh I've had pretty much bugger all since she was born on Monday.

Hello, my ds arrived 6 weeks early on 5th June. We're not long home from neonatal unit and im loving having him here, even if I am shattered from the cluster feeding. He's a dotty thing - we're in micro nappies and tiny baby clothes too. But has a full head of hair Grin

DD is already growing out of her babygrows. She's growing up so fast already. (wails).
I'm am officially doing "mammy" things now, such as finding spit on a tissue an acceptable way of cleaning DD's face.

Hi ladies, congrats to all sorry I haven't posted for ages finding the juggling two a little tricky! I am still expressing 6 times a day following a three night stay in hospital courtesy of awful jaundice. Although it adds 2/3hours to my day I helps with the reassurance of weight gain and allows my DH to do a couple of feeds. My DS is doing well and is 4 weeks now. In the past week his feeding pattern has settled a little more and I am starting to get a little more sleep (famous last words).

Hope you are all well xx

Was having lovely family day out, strolling around the craft market with DP pushing the pram. we stopped to look at the wood stand. Lady comes over, "oh you can get free engraving, if you've already picked a name that is" with a pointed look at my belly.Sad Angry.

Well, first night home went well, we managed to get some sleep - which is more than I got in hospital - and feeding seems to be going well. She's already got a bit of a schedule, feeding for about 20 mins, then sleeping for a couple of hours. Unless she doesn't. Sometimes it's feeding every 5 minutes, a couple of times she's slept for 4 hours. I'm just glad I got more than no sleep last night!

Also not had a bad day at home, DS has been very demanding and clingy since I got home, and quite unsettled for naps. I think some of that is just his age, but we've also messed with his life quite significantly over the last week. I think DH and I are over compensating a bit, and giving into more than we should be. Perhaps causing more of the tantrums.

It was definitely famous last words! DS was tricky last night and was taking up to 2 hours to settle after a feed. I was home alone today and DD was demanding and DS didn't want to be left in his bouncer or basket. He immediately stops crying when you pick him up :: / let's see what the night brings!

First night of some fairly reasonable sleep last night - just fed at 11, 2 and 6 but since then she has been almost non-stop and if she's not eating she's pooping. Glad I'm still too sore to have wanted to go anywhere, my boobs have barely been away long enough to pee!

DD is feeding a lot just now too, she's still only 4 days old though. A couple of people now, including midwife yesterdat, have said she looks a bit jaundice. So, I'll be feeding on demand even when I'm not sure she's hungry. Too much milk isn't a bad thing right? Was quite hard last night though, didn't get a decent sleep till about 1am, and even then it was only 2 hours.

I've had my MIL here helping te past couple of days, it's actually been quite helpful, except I can't find enough for her to do. She's been keeping DS entertained where she can, and hasn't been on at me for DD cuddles. Mostly just looking for housework to do! I need to do a tidy tonight, so she can clean and dust the whole house for me next time she comes :) DH has no clue where most things live, and there's lots of clutter in the way of tidying just now.

DH has also really surprised me, he made his own to do list yesterday, topped with "clean kitchen and bathroom"!! He did it yesterday, and again today! There isn't a precedent for this - DH firmly believes once a week is too often for the bathroom. Hmm Been reading about awful ILs and slacking DHs on Facebook, so I'm feeling greatful for my lot today :)

It is lovely to see this thread alive.
Well, I can empathize with the jaundice that seems to be with most of our LO. DD lost so much weight and was jaundice too we too ended being admitted to neonatal unit for 2 days. Thankful she is now back to putting on weight. I have had to ff and bf to supplement. Although I have been reluctant to ff. not sure if this has affected my milk supply as I seem to have less and less each day!

This week ending today has been a hard one as DH working nights. I feel sleep deprived! so looking forward to have a night off when DH is off.

Have a good week everyone xxxx

Ok so today is not good, dh is at work for a week so it's me, baby, toddler and df. I'm sore and tired, baby has gone from boob to boob to poop to boob since 5.45am. Toddler is getting stroppy - major tantrum because I shouted her name to come get her milk, had to as baby was crying for feed, DF nowhere to be seen.

I just feel like crying. Think this has been a big mistake.

I'm lucky to be right at the start of DHs 4 weeks off. It's going to be hellish interesting when he has to go back to work. We've also had IL here for the last few days which has really helped with DS. Again, it's going to be interesting doing a full day without respite from DS with MIL taking him out to the garden or something. DH has never actually spent much time looking after him, even though he's now 18m.

DS has been good with DD so far, but we've been pandering a bit to his temper and whims, which we just can't keep up. He likes to kiss and stroke her head all the time, which is lovely and cute. Not sure if it's just because he gets praise and attention for doing it, but still cute.

Notfast can you get some more help, sleep, or even just a bit of time to yourself this evening? It's going to be really hard some days, but it'll all be worth it in the end. I know I've got an awful lot of hard times to come, I just hope I get through them all with my sanity.

acl can you stop the ff supplements now? Or cut them back and just bf? Would you want to?

I'm going to try expressing for DD. It was always my intention for DS, but I never got around to it in the end. It'd be good to have the opportunity for a break from bf sometimes. Not necessarily overnight, but I'd like to take up running when I can, so I can get fit and get a little thinking time sometimes.

Hi everyone. I had a baby boy just over two weeks ago. Had a hellish time to be honest with the birth and the baby being ill; he's all better now and I'm getting there slowly. He's a lovely and very good baby though, which has helped enormously.
How are you doing Notfast; it's a roller coaster of ups & downs - hope you're having better days now?
pgchimp - yes it is! Is it your first baby?

Better today - marginally - after a night of constant feeding again. Boobs are in agony so went to ff today for a break and she's mainly slept. Wasn't overly impressed with the bottle though and neither was the midwife when she phoned. Have to decide now whether to bin the bf altogether or give it another go.

Slight improvement with toddler today too, instead of complete indifference to her new sister she did some gentle prodding of her head. First actual contact so far, there may be hope after all.

Congrats pgchimp and Eliza. Must have been awful when baby was poorly, glad he's doing well now.

Welcome Elizab and pigchimp and congratulations.

stacks we have tried to cut down ff but she just screams the house down! I am always trying to offer bf first but she gets frustrated then we go ff.
I am told she will get the 'hung' of it when she is a bit older!

Apart from that she seems to have settled into a pattern of waking up twice at night at the same time.
Then she wakes up at 6am, which helps me to get DS ready for school.

Going to get her weighed today

Morning all. DD has been a really good baby so far, eating and sleeping well, and not crying much. This morning however DS decided to get up at 4:30am. Not so good! So we're all exhausted already this morning, and DS is overtired and grumpy. I hope DS settles back into his old routine again soon, or we may all lose our sanity.
