Hope minimopsy is feeling better soon.

aethel DD1 had a traumatic incident with a muddy puddle yesterday. The mud was so thick she lifted her foot up but the welly stayed in the puddle :o. She put her foot down in the mud afterwards, thankfully it was on the way home not on the way to the children's centre.

Bad afternoon was bad. Much shouting and whining abd throwing toys. Redeemed it slightly by chucking him on my back in the buckles and running up and down the living room while cooking dinner. Just been to shop to get chocolate while husband does bed time. I'mspending this evening organising my yarn stash. Whoop.

kitten got me into some steam punk crime drama thing, can't remember title at the minute but it's a bit of escapism and I'm enjoying the genre.

Ditto being fed up of this never ending rain!

I'm reading Believing The Lie by Elizabeth George at the moment it's an inspector Lynley book that someone gave me at work, not my usual thing but I'm enjoying it.

DH is out for the evening so I'm going to have an early night!

We're having a late birthday party for DS this weekend, so really looking forward to it :)

Pissed as a skunk? (V funny Fafffin!)
Sorry about poorly miniM. :(
Boi has been mad about Bare Necessities for ages, it was a song in a Disney song book. We then started watching the clip in YouTube, and today he saw the complete film. New favourite!
DH has also gone out tonight. I shall spend the evening drinking wine and panicking about what the hell I am going to wear tomorrow for my girls' night out in fashionable Manchester. Shock

Oi Ooong Booook (Jungle Book) is a massive favourite here. DS loves the elephants, especially when Col. Hathi leans on the stick and it snaps "It bwoke Muummmmy, it bwoke"

Figgy the Liane Moriarty book? I've just finished that too! I'm re-reading What Alice Forgot as a result. I also just read the Jodie Picoult The Storyteller. I was totally over her writing style, but would definitely recommend this book just for the section written as the Grandmothers' memoir (Polish Haulocost survivor). I read it in 3 days. I've not read like that since before having DS.

I am on my last week of Maternity Leave (although don't actually go back to work until the 22nd) Need to cram as many food firsts as possible into the next three weeks - DD will be 26 weeks on Tue.

I'm reading the last Iain M Banks one, the Hydrogen Sonata, and really enjoying it- more than the last Culture novel (will only make sense to fellow geeks...aethel ?!)

DS had his follow up test at the hospital yesterday, and they've now discharged him- he's had no repeat of the horrors of last year, and his hearing's not been affected, which is great. Apparently, he completely charmed the staff, as he was so well-behaved Shock and cute- they loved the blond ringlets. To the point where they tried to find him a sticker for being a good boy, couldn't, and so went and got a proper teddy bear and gave it to take home! It was one that was bought by fundraising (said on the label) and was obviously properly destined for sick children not my little con artist!

He got home, threw tantrum of tiredness, decorated kitchen with popcorn, bit us both and fell asleep.....

How's MiniM doing mopsy, has she perked up?

figster, you have my sympathy, that's exactly what happened with my DP over his job- having to wait nearly a week. Unless there's incredibly extenuating circumstances, I really think it's not on- your DH must be very unsettled by it. Fingers crossed though.

And thank you Oi ref the jabs, nothing to worry about for over a year, bonus!

Agreed about the sodding rain- the first time I get a proper garden, and we have the wettest January since records began, just my luck.

Pishing down here too. My feet were wet all day as my Vans are awfully devout holy:o I need new ones, but there's always something needs buying >_<

Cats have set up camp in front of me. They seem to have decided the living room is where the warm lives.

DS can now say iPad which is a worry.

Have a great day ladies.

Hi all. Well, Minimopsy was vomiting all night. Couldn't even keep a teaspoon of water down (although I kept trying to avoid her getting dehydrated). Gone through nearly all the towels, half of her t shirts and half of mine and Mr. Mopsy's. Done three loads of laundry but the house still stinks of sick. But by cunning placing of towels avoided the vom getting anywhere else thank goodness. Vom plus soft furnishings = hell.

After just mentioning it, had a letter from HV. They're coming on Monday for the 2 year check.

Minimopsy is currently curled up on my chest snoozing. I don't blame her. We had next to no sleep. She just got sick again but reduced volume so she must have kept some liquid down so fingers crossed she's turned a corner. She spent literally all day yesterday on my chest. I hope she wants to move a bit today...

mopsytop · 01/02/2014 08:46

Oh and no sign of us getting it yet either. Fingers crossed.

V glad we have so many towels. Was going to vacuum pack some and put in lift. V glad I didn't!

Yuck mopsy......about all of it

After soft play this morning I took DS to the local farm shop it is very posh with lots of the range rovers and Burberry types he wanted to feed the pigs after three runs back to the pig food I said enough Q an epic tantrum Angry practically had to drag him in the shop where he sat down and screamed he wouldn't walk I should've just left but was too embarrassed ending up buying a banana 42p!!!!!!! Fucking 42p for a banana I wouldn't mind but he was still screaming when I threw him under my arm and put him in the car.

Went to the library too and rented monsters university so that's this afternoon wet weather entertainment

for Mopsy, hope Mini is better soon. Damn your washing machine!

What happens at the 2yr check?

Fig/Oi/anyone will your DC's sit still for an entire movie? Anything longer than 15mins and DS1 says 'byebye veevee' and walks off.

Hurrah for good behaviour and discharge Northen!

Starting to worry about Ds1, his speech is rubbish, his concentration is short at the best of times and he's still bawling his eyes out at preschool. Think we'll have to call him our practise child and put all our attention on DS2 Grin
Although DS2 has giving up on crawling and is just hopping everywhere and he cba to wean (zero attention to food!) so I'll just have to get pregnant and hope for a wunderkind.

Kitten, from memory Office used to half price their Vans often...and TKmaxx usually have a few in, babycham range of trainers (board shoes?) are similar.
Arf at being an Ebra, he sounds very method Grin

DH is working today, and both boys are alseep(!) so I'm just avoiding housework.
My New Year Resolution was to read all the classics I've had on my wishlist for years, rereading Dracula atm (t'was my book of choice for night feeds with DS1).

NorthernChinchilla · 01/02/2014 14:29

Boba, if we can get DS to sit still for 15 seconds it's a miracle... He'll play with things happily on his own for a decent time, but that involves hurling about, and as for watching an entire movie Approximately three minutes of the Simpsons last night, then went back to trampling his father into the sofa and into submission, sigh.

That sounds awful mopsy, the illness and the washing machine! Is there any kind relative/friend who would let you use theirs, even if/especially as it's for vomity stuff? Worst luck ever.

You should've taken a picture of this banana figster, 'tis obviously a very special and select type Grin

Both boys are asleep, am tidying and doing finance stuff, and a bit of MN as a treat!

After having more or less no sleep, Mr.Mopsy looked up the Internet, found out what was probably wrong with the washing machine, went out, bought a new pump and replaced it and fixed the machine. It has been going non-stop since. I am SO impressed with him! And Minimopsy hasn't been sick since midday. She is actually playing and no longer clinging to me miserably. Things are on the up!

Report
NorthernChinchilla · 01/02/2014 19:49

But of COURSE he didn't want it: he demanded it, it was over priced, it was an emergency purchase, it's healthy... Confused

DS has spent at least 25 minutes, post dinner, running up and down the ground floor of the house, through the kitchen and living room. I swear to Bob we gave him beans on toast and fruit for dinner, not crack, but you'd never know. Oh, and the one fruit he will now eat, 'raw', are those really cheap and readily available raspberries. I'm going to have to grow my own, aren't I...

That is brilliant news mopsy, I'm dead impressed with Mr Mopsy too! Glad MiniM's on the mend too, hope she sleeps well tonight.

Ordering in a Nepalese tonight- it's always a bit of a gamble when you're trying somewhere new and go for what's down as 'hot' on the menu. Could be fine, could be painful, I'll let you know Wink
