Hello! Smile

I'm new to MN and have just had my second baby who is now 3days old.

My milk has just come in and dd2 wants to feed a lot! But the boobs aren't going down and still engorged, I can't remember, should I express as well or wait for them to settle on their own?

Hi Huffle!

Has your DD2 been born on 19th then? My DS too! This is my first child.

Apparently you shouldn't express, unless your boobs are so full your DD can't latch on. Then you can express a bit do that your nipples get a bit softer. Otherwise, it will go down as long as you keep feeding on demand.

Hi everyone Smile

Nice to see a Nov 2013 thread Smile

I had my gorgeous little boy on the 27th and he's our first baby Smile

Having fun getting to know him and enjoying the cuddles! Doing pretty well as he usually sleeps for 3 hours at a time before waking for food. He's a big baby though - 9lb 6oz at birth Shock

Hope everyone is enjoying their new arrivals x

So to get things started a bit more on this very quiet thread...

I'm an american expat living in London. I've been here for 7 years. I've had both my children here and have had terrible pregnancies but wonderful birth experiences. Both were elective cesarean sections and I couldn't be happier with the results. I am currently trying to figure out if I would like to establish a routine with my DD or if I would like to demand feed.

We just celebrated thanksgiving last week and our children (I love saying 'children') were adorable together. I desperately want more, but I fear that it may be the hormones talking.

I hope everyone else is happy and excited about the upcoming holidays?

Just getting used to this MN app on iPhone, I find it so confusing!

Angrybryd, I am demand feeding, is it not too early to try to get them in a routine? Plus I would crack under the pressure of trying to get her into a routine.

How us everyone doing? 3wks on and I can't remember dd2 not being here but it is hard work with 2 under 2! My house is a shot hole!!!!

Hi Cute,

We have MN twins! What time was your ds born? My dd2 was born at 6.21am after a natural, calm birth, very different to the first time round! How did yours and everyone's labours go?

I'm not in the fb group, are there lots of members? How do I join?

Hi ladies,

I didn't realise these groups existed - could I join you please? My first DD was born 13.11.13, can't believe she's 8 weeks already! Loving being a mum, don't feel like I have a clue what I'm doing most of the time but my girl seems happy and is growing well so can't be doing too badly!

Hi Meggy!

How are you getting on? There doesn't seem to be a lot going on here! Story of my maternity leave to far... Have been to two parent & baby groups, the first one nobody really spoke to me as they all had their little established groups & the second one had only one other mother & child (who were really nice!) When I saw this group I thought it might be a chance to chat with people who have babies of a similar age but there doesn't seem to be anyone around! How are you finding maternity leave? (Assuming you're still off?) I love not being at work & love spending time with my little girl but also missing adult interaction during the day. It'd also be useful to know someone with similar aged children because, I don't know about you but most if the time I feel like I don't know that I'm doing! My girl is growing & seems happy the vast majority of the time so I think I must be doing alright! Smile

Hope all is well with you & your little one!

Hi Quokka1, Thanks for the reply! How are you and your little dd?

My little man seems to be growing so fast...some of his 0-3 month clothes are already too small! He loves looking at the toys on his baby gym mat and smiles at them...so cute! I am loving maternity leave (most days) too but also miss adult talk and it feels very strange not going to work everyday! I also went to one group but I felt a bit awkward as the other mums all knew each other. Don't worry I feel exactly the same, like I don't really know what I'm doing...I just go with the flow if you know what I mean :) It would be great to have someone to chat to with a baby the same age as my little fellow!

Mini Just PM one of us and we will get some details from you so that we can find you and add you to the fb group. There is almost 70 of us there now and the group is very supportive. We've even had some meet ups.

Hello everyone. I'll re-introduce myself. I was on the antenatal thread but am now mostly active in the FB group. I'm 26 and live in the south of England. Had my first child Meredith nn Merry on 25th November, 9 days late! She is 12 weeks old today. We're still exclusively breastfeeding and she's putting on weight now, lots of smiles and giggles but no rolling yet. She sleeps for 4-5 hours at a time overnight but fights sleep during the day so I'm trying to persuade her to nap more at the moment. We had one nap today. We're looking forward to starting baby gym when she's 4 months old and baby swimming when we get a place. I'm still trying to get back to 100% after feeling like I was hit by a lorry giving birth.

How is everyone doing? Time flies with a little one!
