Is it time to start talking about Christmas then? I'm excited about advent. I've bought a red ribbon, 24 festive wooden pegs with the numberv1-24 on them and 24 gold paper bags. I'm going to put tiny presents in each bag and the girls can unpeg one and open it each day. I've discovered the shop Tiger whichbiscfsb for cheap little gifts.

Arti, MAP is fine while BF.

We've all got colds so apologies for being so quiet. Hoping my sinuses don't get blocked up.

Artiieeeee How did the MAP go? I was just in Tiger yesterday! It's near me, and I always walked past it but finally went it - love it! Last year MIL made an Advent thing before I even got a say (as per usual) with pockets for chocolate of course which kids will be excited about.
I'm stupidly excited that Christmas tree selection / erection day Grin this year (1st Dec of course ) is on a Sunday so can be first in line for nice tree as DH should be off - I get all a bit Chevy Chase about it Hmm
Theme last couple of years was White / silver / blue - I feel like ditching the blue and replacing with gold this year. Dh not as keen Grin
Thanks for the thread Vag
We (3) watched fireworks from our bed last night at 7pm - kids had their milk and I had a glass of wine!!
Right, gym, collect dd, back to gym for her swimming lesson.

Ooh exciting, Christmas talk. I made our cake last weekend which is pretty late really. I'll have to feed it lots of sherry.

I've tons still to buy. Anyone give me some ideas for our Dec 08 babies? I find the whole birthday/Christmas gift buying all quite difficult when that's all their big stuff till next year.

I've got some banana bread in the oven and it smells fantastic. I went a bit off recipe so I hope it's ok!

oh no, has it ruined plans for the weekend Jam?

DD been a little ratbag today. She's brilliant for her swimming teacher then horrendous for me. Quite ill though with the bark like cough, yet evil me packed her off to nursery and told her to cover her mouth if she coughs! Blush

ds in meltdown too / lack of sleep. dh's computer keyboard won't work - have troubleshot it, but still no joy. Rang dh at work and the scrub nurse in theatre answered! Had to pretend it was somewhat important! Grin

Oh no jam!! Is it just the weekend or might it be extended?

Thanks for thread vag! I think we are sticking with the blue/purple/silver for the tree! Have a rough idea of pressies for DS. We've bought him a Y Fliker scooter for birthday. It's an odd contraption but he loves DDs and goes like the wind. Which is odd because he's kind a snail on his peddle bikeConfusedHmm

Then for Christmas we have bought both DD & DS a Hudl tablet from Tesco. It may seem a but much but he is forever on our iPhones, and there are some great reading/spelling/phonics apps out there. So really it's a glorified speak and spell!!Grin

Right best crack on DDs having a strop about me removing he'd laptop privileges. Apparently I'm "ruining her life".Hmm Maybe darling but it'll teach not to get caught chatting in the cloakroom when you should have been back in class!!

Dieds I like your style. I am forever telling the boys I am their parent not their best friend and sometimes (most of the time) they are not going to like me.

You need Wine jam. Can empathise. I'm getting mil induced rage again myself this eve. Must mark the start of happy hour myself momentarily.

Sorry not meaning empathise with the mil stuff! Side issue ongoing here!.

Feeling ongoing crapishness but can't pinpoint it and flu jab site reaction expanded. Covers my arm now in circumference around jab spot. Dh reckons I've been exposed at some point during travels or whatever to some strain in the vaccine. Urgh. Nice. The needlephobe has endured a needle to make herself feel like shit for no apparent reason. Lovely.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the thread, Vag.

Sympathies on the arm, Rubes. Hope soon better. Not your drinking arm I hope?!

Sorry things are being a bit arse Jam. Not long now. When does DH get home? Can you have a restful one with the boys?

Sorry you are ill, Kayz. Sinuses are a bitch.

Arti, am stealing your Advent idea. I always make the kids have godly advent calendars as it#s supposed to be remind them about the coming of Jesus but they want the chocs etc instead. This will be a nice adjunct to the worthy pic of the Holy Family.

Went to see my friend who is in Tommy's having her baby at 38 weeks this Friday. It is almost 5 years since I was on that ward. How time flies.

Off to bed once washing finished. Knackered.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas......"

Me again Hmm can I be nosey and ask about people's contraception choice? I'm seriously considering the copper coil.. Fed up of hormones and really want to see the difference it makes not having any. I know a few have had Mirena fitted - do they fit them at the GP and how painful etc? Everyone I know has had issues with Mirena, but not sure about copper. DH has suggested the copper for me, but he by no means is in that field to really advise Grin

Report
Rubena · 07/11/2013 11:53

Oh, and how painful is it to be fitted? For eg, I don't find smears at all painful but I know this is more involved! I'm thinking Beans is my resource here? - but I know you had probs beans - no?
