We will be having a small family party. I think XP and his family are planning a grander affair over compensating much

Can I ask two questions?

  1. Naps. Oscar has been having three. Yesterday, I gave him 2 as an experiment (30 and 60mins) and he slept 13 hours last night don't hate me. How much are the other babies napping?

  1. Shoes. I am getting pressure to buy O shoes but he isn't even crawling properly yet. When are shoes necessary? Will he need something other than socks on his feet this winter?

Not sure what we'll do - maybe close friends with kids and family for some songs and then sausages?

Chasing it sounds to me like you have sleep and naps nailed - well done :-). Shoes wise, g has some because he loves playing and standing outside. Also he pulls his socks off all the time and it is getting chillier. They don't need them at all at this age unless you want / need them to have them (for playing outside for example). If o isn't standing I would think a snowsuit with feet enclosed would be just as good. If you do get shoes make sure the fit well and are very flexible so their bones aren't constricted as they grow. Here is some advice from startrite www.startriteshoes.com/advice/crawling/

R has a pair of Daisy Roots - leather upper, suede soles. Tough enough to cope with the park but soft and unstructured so he can find his feet :)

chasing I just bought dd her first pair of shoes today £24 from clarks Shock But she desperately needed some as she is sliding and bashing her head on the laminate / tiled floors at home, and they have a lovely soft grip to them, perfectly fitted too, so only you can decide when he needs them but from what you've said he doesn't need them yet.

J has a pair of pre-walkers from Clarks Chasing but only because I take DS1 and DS2 to the playground and he likes to walk around holding on to my fingers for balance. My other two never had shoes until they started walking unaided outside.

Evening all, day turned out ok in the end, E was in a better mood once his dad got up so he must've just wanted alternate company lol.

For lunch I ended up doing a lovely pasta sauce, carefully instructed by pr and he loved it, thanks very much pr :) I will do cheese on toast sunday I think as we are out tomorrow.

sounds like a lovely walk bplp :)

good stuff re cot napping yw long may it continue

sounds like a really nice non-date with non-date guy chasing :)

ouch pikz hope he's feeling better soon the poor mite

hope you're ok pennie

ouch pp hope your knee feels better soon

gt sorry the sale didn't work out but at least you still have a car like you said.

Partywise, it's e's birthday on Weds so we're going to have a cake after tea then, but the fair is in town the week of his birthday so on the saturday we are going to the fair with his cousins and his little friend round the corner and then we'll come back and have a bit of a tea party. I think!

Chasing E slept really well at night too when he dropped from 3 naps to 2 a few months back. I got E some shoes from clarks the other day because he's so long his feet poke out under his raincover on his umbrella pushchair and it's getting colder but he is cruising now. I have had a look at the daisy roots pp mentioned and they look fab :) the ones we got from clarks are for crawling and cruising and are softer and more flexible than the my first shoes range. He loves wearing them and seems very comfortable in them after an initial bit of wobbling because it must've felt quite strange for him!

Oh yes sorry should have been clearer, dds shoes are pre-walkers for cruising and crawling.

Lo has one 3hour nap. I want to try and get it to two. But struggling to find energy to implement.

Shoes-he has a pair of converses. Lol. Never worn. Ill prob buy him some when he starts walking.

Can we talk teeth as well? Brushing teeth to be precise. How often?
As FH does mornings and lets me sleep in he claims to forget.
Lo seems ok with it when I actually do it. Likes taste etc. but is it end of the world if he misses a day?
Just thinking when bump arrives/I get more tiered FH will do morning and sleep time. Do I want to argue about lack of teeth being cleaned?

Thank you for shoe feedback. I think I will go with my instincts and leave it as long as possible. I am going to buy a cosy toes for his new stroller (Graco Evo mini) so if he is out that should keep his feet warm and I can't see him walking outside for a long while. He managed one forward crawling step today Smile Also, me saying 'cowabunga' induces hilarious laughter, every single time. As does my Compare the Meeekat meerkat. He has a gorgeous giggle.

So, yeah, dropping his third nap seems to be making his night time sleep better and he is easier to get to sleep at night but the last hour before bed has become quite fraught as he is getting very tired. I feel very mean and am questioning whether to bring back the third nap. I might try and encourage him to have a longer second nap. Hmm..thinking to do.

Non-date guy is indeed lovely and yes pass the 'does he, doesn't he' stuff is very exciting. Although can leave me feeling a bit insecure. Am trying to enjoy it for what it is though and make sure that I can be happy without a man so that anything that happens is an added bonus easier said than done

Favourite thread ending evar pp!!

Do try to enjoy it chasing. It sounds lovely but what is also lovely is you learning all about yourself and loving what you find.

Thanks pass. For the first time, I am actually starting to like myself. I am becoming a nicer person. I have never liked myself before.

chasing two naps here, sometimes one. And leather/suede slippers. Will get her shoes when she walks, so, I think, another few months away. She does have some very fluffy warm outdoor slippers for winter pram walks. At nursery they have six place prams to take even the toddlers out to the fields. Then they let the walkers loose :o

Excellent thread ending pidj and I hope the knee is ok

Hope all is well in HK pennie

I had a very similar email when selling my horse box GT and posted a thread on MN to find out what the scam was - I knew it must be a scam as he wanted to pay full price for it unseen and was sending a "man" to pick it up - oh, and he was in the States Confused - but I couldn't work out what the scam was. Didn't realise Paypal would just merrily refund a buyer like that - put me off it a bit to be honest.

Kirrinhorse's leg is still broken :( The vet has sent the films off for a second opinion as to whether it needs even more time - it's been 5 months already - or whether its not going to get any better, in which case its horrible decision time :( :( :(

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Still struggling on here although not as bad as I was a couple of days ago. Have booked a GP appointment for end of next week. Implementing a bedtime routine as of tomorrow night with DP's support.

Oh no kirrinhorse :(

chasing I'm so happy for these lovely positive moments. You know those bad days are crappy little blips don't you?! There's a pattern to them. It's normal, but maybe on a calendar note the good and bad days. Like the wonder app thingy :)

Bless you chasing. You are not becoming nicer - you are just loving what's there. A love affair with you. That should be the relationship we work hardest it.

Screamathon tonight, teeth are causing havoc. But a nice and vair civil party for dsd with all her mums family. Piglet now asleep on me in the lounge with me dropping toast crumbs on her head. Reminds me of when I dropped an enormous chocolate coin on her head when she was 2 months or so old Blush Grin
