Well done Rodeo, good idea!

Still unwell here so another early night. Just cannot keep anything down. Perhaps I'll be joining you again on weight loss thread.

Been quiet here today. Hope everyone and LO's are well.

Bug you all tomorrow, nighty night. x

Oh Brownie, wishing you all the best for first day at work x

And third Grin!!! Thanks for the new thread RODEO Smile, you are good. BROWNIE, don't think it's THAT part iyswim Grin - apparently doesn;t need to worry about that Grin, more a general thing, esp tummy.
Will be thinking about you tommorrow and your first day back Smile. Been there twice before, and trust me you will soon get back into it, and actually start to enjoy it; being able to get a coffee, read a paper... GrinOh, and you get paid!!!
Well, got 'slimmer of the week' at SW, so really pleased. Celebrating with one of those new cream egg bars (so not the same as the egg, who do they think they're kidding!!) and pack of 4 choccie cookies.Yummm!!

Hi Brownie!

Good luck for tomorrow girl! Thomas will be just fine, won't stop you worryingt though! Thanks for the link about sampling bottles, have just sent them and e-mail! I'll let you know if anything happens!

Hope you feel better soon Chacha :) Could you be pg again?!

Bob Angry what a git! Hope you told them to p*ss off and stop being so nosy!

Oh had a eye appt today, and to my surprise I've got 20/20 vision! I used to have glasses for short-sightedness when I was younger, so don't know what's happened there Shock Bit dissappointed as I'd picked out a pair of frames already - and dp was looking forward to some sexy secretary action, heehee, never mind! Grin

Will catch up more tomorrow, have just booked my mother a hot air balloon flight for her birthday so feel like I've been online for ages!! And dp wants to watch Troy with me! Byeeee x

hi everyone! Caleb's finally found his feet. Anyone see any signs of crawling yet? Some babies start at 6 mths Shock

ChaCha · 25/04/2006 09:54

Hi girls,

Rodeo - LOL @ secretary action!! And no, can't be PG as I've just had AF :)

Bear - That's lovely. My LO has also found his feet, it's cute isn't it? Does Caleb cry when he's in a position unable to reach them?

My LO is pushing himself up all the time. When I try to make him sit he wants to stand up straight away 'bigging up' his chest and smiling. No longer able to pull him up with hands to sitting position - it's up and standing. Although it's lovely to watch I'm worried that this is too soon - shouldn't we be encouraging crawling first? He's not very active on his tummy, legs are all go but he hasn't quite got the 'push' from his arms going yet.

Another day in bed for me. x

Morning

Found out this morning that ds's best friend didn't get into the Infant School as they live outside the catchment. They're currently 8th on the waiting list, the Infant school is pretty big, their intake for the year is 120 so we're keeping our fingers crossed for him. The school they've been offered is quite poor unfortunately and if they accept a place there they automatically get taken off our schools waiting list. I think they should hold out - what do you think? Only spoken to his dad and he's gutted and hasn't been sleeping over it :( How rubbish!

Anyway.... you're still poorly Chacha? Have you seen the docs at all?

Bear - nice to see you on here, Joe was crawling at 7 months which is pretty early, don't think Jess will follow suit though, she's concentrating on her vocal skills I think!

Right, better get on with the housework, bye for now!

Typically quiet on here when I'm sick in bed! Come on you lot...

Hi all,

Well I went to visit a nursery yesterday (Little Angels - JenJam, I liked it a lot, but she was quite a character, I think she must have bribed the kiddies to come running up to her and adore her ...) and am pretty decided that I'm going to go the nursery route rather than childminder/nanny, but a bit of a catch-22 situation as I don't have a job right now and I need to sign up now if Nate's going to get a space. The deposit is one month's fees which is over 1000 quid! So going to have to think very carefully about this ... plus I need to get a job by September!

We're thinking of having a naming ceremony in September but don't really know the routine - what have other people done? Have you had someone do the ceremony for you? Just went to my cousins' LO christening on Sunday at Lichfield Cathedral which was a grand affair, but we're practicing agnostics so formal God route is not for us.

Well gotta run as trying to get Nate to take nap and then we're off to baby massage.

J & N xx

I'm bloody annoyed & I need to get this off my chest. The HV was supposed to visit this morning at 11am. Before then I had to go into hospital to visit DP & also to give a blood sample in occupational health. I raced around this morning trying to get everything done so I could be back in time for the HV. I got home at 11:00am, on the dot. Guess what? Yup. She'd been & gone. She left a note saying she'd called at 11am, b**cks!! I was sooo furious. I burst in to tears. Rant over, ahem.

Well, poor DP will probably have to stay in till Thursday now! Apparently the infection has spread under the skin around his eyes. The surgeon said he'd not seen anything like it in years. Anyhoo, with the dreadful food (I use the term loosely) he's lost lots of weight already. Anyone on the weight loss threads....get yourself admitted to hospital. Actually, I might start a thread myself with this snippet of advice!!

Rodeo, thanks for starting the new thread. Great name.

Brownie, I tried to find the thread on getting BF babies to take a bottle but I couldn't find it. Ella is getting much better at it now. We've had success with the spout from the Avent magic cup with the valve removed. Good luck for work.

Chacha, hope you start to feel better soon, you must be really fed up.

Diege, well done for your weight loss! I tried one of those creme egg bars too. They're a lot easier to eat whilst driving. Not that I'd advocate doing anything remotely dangerous/illegal whilst driving.Grin

Hope everyone else is well. We're going back in to visit DP this afternoon. He's asked me to take in 2 Big Macs for him. Shock

Good call on the new thread Rodeo!
karma - bet you're annoyed!especially as you dashed around to get back in time.
we had a decorator coming to colletct a bankers draft and i said spcifically..come after 10am as dp had to go to the bank beforehand..he turned up at 9am and i had to make him tea and make small talk when all i wanted to do was go back to bed and watch t4..lol

hopeyourdp recovers soon! you know he'll gain the lost weight and then some when he gets out and can eat real food..lol

it's crazyhow rubbish hospital food is..especially as nutrition is really importantwhen you're ill.

chacha - sorry you're still not well! hope Z is behaving himself for you!

rodeo - hot air ballon ride! wow, what a lovely gift.
i was a little dissapointed when dp didnt need glasses too..but relieved when he said the ones he'd chosen were £300 ..lol

lilJ - we're thinking about a naming ceremony too but thats as faras we've goten..lol..beksmum gave me a good link for info..i'll try and find it.

brownie - no crawling here..but he can roll over and over and spin round to roll in another direction. he tries shuffling along but ends up with his arms stuck under his chest.

wish the weather was nicer..i wantto go out but don't want to getwet..maybe a trip to bromleyshopping centre is inorder..

does anyone have plans for the long weekend?

Hi, Karma sorry to hear DP is still poorly. At least he's got an appetite (not surprising though with hossie food). Hopefully you'll have more of a relaxing afternoon. Take it easy.

What are you doing BoB? We'll be in London, there's an event we'll be going to in Wembley then out for a meal. Am v.much looking fwd to it having had enough visitors to last the whole month.

Have managed to keep breakfast down so far, hopefully a good sign. Getting bored of being in bed (can't believe I'm saying that) and feel the need to get on again.

Would really like your advice on the LO's wanting to stand all the time antics.

Hope that those who haven't posted in a while are all well. Anyone up for MSN at anytime?

chacha - O tries to pull himself to standing too..he loves it.i guess it's just fun for them.

Afternoon!

Just got back from the school run, B&J are playing in the garden and J's fallen asleep in her buggy in the sunshine getting a good dose of vit D!

Karma, oh dear that does sound bad, is he on antibiotics now? 2 big macs? The poor man - he has my full sympathies on the food/weight loss front, typical HV too Angry

Z (& O!) sounds like a typical boy - don't worry about him wanting to stand all the time - he's just strengthening his legs for when he starts to crawl, building the muscles up so they can take his weight when he's on all fours, he'll be zooming round like a little rugrat before you know it Grin!

Hope Brownie's had a good day!

Where are Diege & Nova?

Right, I'd better make a start on tea :)

Bob - You made me laugh when I read your post, you made the same mistake I as did last night! I kept typing in ballon instead of balloon and my sister kept taking the mickey! Going 'Heart of England Ballons??!'

Doesn't seem quite as funny now I've typed it out! Blush

Hi people! Smile Alls well in this mad house!

ChaCha - Sad to hear you've not been well, hopefully you're coming to the end of it now Smile

Brownie - 1st day back - how did it go?

Karma - your poor dp Sad, at least he's eating something, so i'm sure he'll be up and raring to go pretty soon.

I think Rodeo's def right about boys just wanting to get up and about really quickly. Sean's getting so angry at the mo cos he can't get at or do what he wants to do.

How does everyone elses lo's sleep? Sean insists on sleeping on belly, every time i put him back on his side he rolls straight over, so i've had to let him get on with it (I hate them being on their backs).

MIL's coming down from North Wales tomorrow for a few days, had one of BILs down last week, they seem to be like buses Wink.

ChaCha - thanks for the link (and BoB Wink). It wouldn't let me into nov members group tho, even after i'd signed up so will cat you with my e-mail address, not too keen on putting it on here for the world to see, esp after BoBs nasty e-mail. Thanks x x

ChaCha - he doesn't cry when he can't reach his feet yet, but may do soon! He likes standing too just like yours, I think its fine to encourage it though. Just encourage crawling too! I think probably the more they can do sooner, then the less frustrated they'll be.

Wow Rodeo - 7 mths! I'd go for holding out with the school too, tho' I don't know what waiting lists are like.

I've said to myself I mustn't spend as much time on here - so I'm timing myself Grin Not that you're not all lovely Smile but I have so much to do, and can easily waste time talking about not very much!

Karma - if you look at 'by topic' and go to breastfeeding then there's a bit at the top abt bottles for bfed babies.

Hi everyone Smile. Not back at work till Friday, so met up with TWINKLE and baby Josh (he is soooo gorgeous, a proper little boy now)today Smile. Had a lovely time, and a gorg subway sandwich for lunch, plus got a bit of retail therapy to boot! Libby seemed happy to see nursery staff when I popped in this afternoon, which is encouraging. Seems to be on the mend taking more milk at each feed, but again threw up (and I mean throw up!) at bedtime, even before I offered her the feed Shock. Totally flummoxed by this, as never had it with dds. I guess her stomach is still sensitive, though not sure why she's only sick at bedtime???? Fed her over the bath yesterday, just so she could be sick into it! (sorry if tucking into your tea!!).
Will catch up on other posts, and speak later Smile.Soz for the me post; getting sighs from DH!!!!! A quick 'hi' to NOVA! You had me worried for a minute!
Speak later Smile
