WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYHEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Cameron rolled over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After about 6 weeks of me rolling about like an idiot he finally did it - YF it must have been the new thread that did itGrin

I think I frightened the sh** out of him I got sooooo excited - you would think I had never seen a baby rolling before. Anyway just worked out his age to put it in his wee red book so he is 22 weeks now!!

Away to roll about with my boy!!

Hey MG- well done Cameron. Johnny did it a lot at first, but then he obviously decided that it was more effort than it was worth, or maybe he's too cool to do it now! If I lie him on his tummy, he just lies there like "yeah, whatever"!!
Of course you can add me to your MSN, but I am trying to discipline myself and stop spending so much time on the PC so I might not be there!

My backpack has just arrived so I'll give it a go tomorrow. At least if Johnny hates it then it didn't cost a fortune!

RTL- hope your afternoon was an improvement on your morning.....Shock

wayhey, new thread!
wayhey, babies rolling!
Evie is 6 months a week today! Cant believe how fast it has gone! Still no rolling all the way over, gets halfway and gets bored. She has started sleeping on her side though (after turing herself around in the cotbed), it's really sweet! Praticaly the same position I lie in!

Wont bring over my woes about how naff work is. But if you hear of any fantastic jobs, let me know!!

Will have to trawl through my bag MB for your address and will add it - not on computer all the time either but it is on all the time so if you ever send a message and I dont answer
I'm not ignoring you I'm just not there. YF and RTL does that sound familiar Smile

Well done rolling babies Grin is that back to front or front to back or both?

Report
mummygow · 31/03/2006 12:33

back to front here rtl, although this morning he felt it was really funny just to lie on his side and giggle at Jess and I.

Well no screaming here last night - Cameron slept through until 6.50 so no hard measures had to be taken, thank goodness - its all very well talking the talk but actually following it through at 4am would maybe have been very different!!

Yokefleet · 31/03/2006 13:01

Thomas started back to front then after nearly 2 weeks started doing both.
Are you having a better day RTL?
oh MG 6.50 would have been nice 5am here!

We have been into Evie's room twice already tonight, first time she'd turned around in the cotbed and got herself a little stuck, the second time she'd rolled over almost onto her tummy and was struggling to roll back. What makes me laugh is that she's asleep while shes getting stressed out about being unable to move! We're going to watch a film and see how she is afterwards!
Going swimming tomorrow, she loves it! Cant wait Grin

Elf, all that shuffling in the bed was what we had to deal with a few weeks back. But it turned out that Johnny was hideously itchy and he now lies really still since his skin healed, so that doesn't really help you much does it!!

We have had a difficult day. He cried for an hour and a quarter before his nap this morning. Nothing would console him and then we had a repeat performance at bedtime, only it lasted almost two hours. I ended up having to lie on the bed and feed him until he went to sleep. We then transferred him to his cot, but I don't hold a lot of hope for him sleeping through tonight.

I was out walking with Johnny in his backpack this afternoon. He loved it and I managed fine, but I am paranoid about getting blocked ducts because of the straps pressing on my boobs. Shock

We are going out tomorrow for a pub lunch for my FILs birthday. It will be great to sit in a smoke free pub. Hooray Grin

MB - glad Johnny likes the new backpack! It kills my back to take Evie in the sling on my front, but it's one where you can use front and back so I may try it on the back sometime next week.

nervousmum - how are you getting on with your electric expresser and the NUK bottles? My expresser is my life saver at work, I get to go to the exec washroom which is gorgeous, marble floor etc but I do wonder whether anybody using the meeting room next door can hear the expresser! Evie has started making a preference to the latex nuk teats rather than the silicone ones, think it's cause they're softer. I prefer it the other way around, they seem a lot more durable, but what Evie wants, she gets!!

Oh, Evie was sick today, but sneezed at the same time, so snot came out her mouth, and sick out of her nose. Lovely. Felt really sorry for her as when I had my 8 week check after having her, I was drinking some Ribena on my way home and coughed and Ribena came out of my nose. It was awful, so Gawd knows what sick in the nose was like!!

oh wow, don't your little babies come along nicely!! sitting up and teeth and rolling over ...

well, we had a night without feeding :o (first one!!!) - we finally managed to finish caitlins room yesterday and whe went straight in it. so seems like she is relieved to have gotten rid of her loud snoring and always shuffling parents :o

i did see to her at 2.30 because she started to whinge a bit. but dummy, stroking her head and sh'shing and a minute later she was fast asleep again. same happened at 5.30 - and finally at 6.15 i got up with her and ds. that could be it?!?!?!?!?!? Shock

we had the occasionally rolling over too. well, 3 times so far. now she doesn't seem to be bothered anymore ?!
BUT she seems to be getting so frustrated now. lots of whinging and whining. she does sit up nicely though (well, in her rubber ring Wink) - still falling over quite a bit! - i hope that she starts moving soon (well, or maybe not) but at least that gives her the ability to do what and where she wants it iykwim

weaning is getting better too 'woheyyy' - she actually had half of a small jar yesterday and finally the 'sparrowing effect' has kicked in. so much nicer when she opens her mouth 'willingly' and gets annoyed when i don't shove it in quick enough :o

Hi all

We've had a difficult few days here. I am wavering about waiting until 26 weeks with the weaning. Johnny hasn't slept through the night for over a week, he's feeding every two hours day and night although co sleeping at night makes it a bit less horrendous. He is showing so many signs of being ready for weaning and I don't know if we can hold out another three weeks. My common sense tells me that he most likely won't come to any harm, but there is something inside me (my stubbornness I think) that is telling me to wait, we've come this far and another three weeks is nothing. To top it all off, I have had blocked ducts and little milk plug blistery things on my nipples which I have had to pop with a sterile needle. Shock And as if that wasn't bad enough, I went to get a new nursing bra today just in case it was a too small bra causing the blockages and flipping heck I am an E cup.Shock E! FGSShock I used to be an A!!!!
I am so bloody hard on myself though. I aimed to breastfeed exclusively for 26 weeks and will feel like I have failed if I wean him now. It's ridiculous and I know it's ridiculous and I have no idea why I feel like this, but I do. Oh well. I'll get him weighed tomorrow and I suspect from the extra chin that he's grown that he's put on a good amount of weight. Perhaps seeing on the graph that he is doing perfectly well on breastmilk will spur me on for the next three weeks.

Sorry, I've just read this back and it sounds really moany! I'm fine though. Hope everyone is doing well, it's been a bit quiet over the weekend!

Oh, and he's been teething.....

Report
Elf1981 · 03/04/2006 06:58

MB - please dont be so hard on yourself! You have done fantatically well to get this far.

Just a thought - when Evie is teething, she is a beggar for wanting to feed. From what I can work out, she isn't hungry, but it's something between the gums that she can gnaw on, and a feed is always soothing for her. So maybe the teething is having an affect on the amount of times Johnny is wanting to feed.

Evie also went through a stage of not sleeping through, we tried weaning but it didn't help with the sleep. I think the main cause of the waking was something other than a need to wean, though she would always feed when she woke up.

Good luck when you get Johnny weighed, hope there is an ample gain that raises your spirits!

As for bras - I'm up from a B cup to a F cup!!

MB I'm with ELF on this one, I thought that starting to wean would mean Thomas would start sleeping through again (naive first timer I guess Blush) but it didn't. Teething here too think it is the 2nd one still giving him grief but not a happy chappy here. MB please don't be so hard on yourself you have done brilliantly and as you have said Johnny is doing well!

sorry couldn't find what I was looking for - MB I awnted to ask you about that thing about the thunderstorms that you and elf were talking about a while ago - Cameron has been in some mood for the last few days and I have been asking myself if he could be under one of those thunderstorms - so can you tell me about it!!

YF I tried to send yo an e-mail the other day and it kept being returned. I am sure I used the same one as I have for msn.

Elf and MB you guys must def look like Jordan Grin

Red and MP they are really cute arn't they.

I dropped Cameron's 10pm feed last night and he went right through (keep four fingers crossed it wasn't a fluke. I went up to bed at 7.20pm read my book until 9pm and then went to sleep, I hevent been in my bed before 11pm since he was born - it was GREAT!!
