So it seems sleep is the magic powder which turns me from a bitch bad mummy to a nice mummy. Had a good day here just hanging out with the ds' in the garden playing in the sandpit, with water, bats and balls, his bike in our tiny garden etc. I lost my temper exactly zero times. Woop woop.

Day 7 of the potty training and we've had a nugget on the floor but all the wees made the potty although we did have pre wee in the pants each time. Think we might need a chat about timing but still for day 7 I'm pretty impressed. I confess to owning gf's potty training in a week book but apart from a flick through when I first got it six months ago, i've not actually read it. Perhaps merely giving the devil woman some money for it was enough for it to work?

BabyYBR is 6 months today. She celebrated by being a carrot monster. It went almost everywhere! Plus she had a daytime nap in her cot Shock. that might be a first, I can't remember.
Plan for tomorrow: sort out music and sermon for Sunday morning ... I'm cutting this one a bit fine!

Thanks lmf for the new thread.
I did very little at work today, then spent a very pleasant afternoon at baby massage pretending I was back on mat leave. Then went to marks n sparks and had a shopping frenzy for sunny stuff for BOi. Grin I particularly love the union jack suit.

Thanks for the new thread LMF

Well DP came into living room earlier and apologised - I said so he should - he then had audacity to tell me I should apologise to for 'going on'. Anyway, all is forgiven! He put BBQ on and poured me a cold glass of lager Grin

I've got my 2 outfits for tomorrows craziness with a load of hens in Windsor tomorrow. Just need to decide on wedges or stilettos to go with my dress?! Decisions .

Sky has drunk 6x7oz bottles today and is now fast asleep. She also decided she is not keen on mint ice cream - pulled this face Confused lol

Place marking... FIL is in overnight but seems OK. The diazepam prescribed to DP for his back have sent him doolally. Freya had muchos fun at Nanny & Grandad's terrorising Lola the dog!

Thanks for thread lmf. Glad FIL seems ok MissRee, hope your dad and husband are okay too.

Not been posting much recently but have been following. Minim has been shocking at the sleeping and I'm just exhausted all the time. Was hoping to get loads of work done yesterday and today but didn't get as much as I'd have liked done. I don't think minim deciding on both mornings that 4am was a suitable time to wake up for the day helped!!! It's all just a phase though right?!!

NorthernChinchilla · 25/05/2012 22:11

Heavens what a day you've all had!

Glad the boisterous Boi is OK, did they say which toy he'd had a fight with?

Glad to hear about the op MissRee, but your poor OH and his family. So glad to hear it appears to have been a minor (ie non-fatal) heart attack, but terrifying nonetheless. Did he have to be taken in an ambulance? Hopefully he'll get through the next few days OK- I think if he does that, then it's a really good sign, but the few days after are a wobbly period.
And I'm not surprised your OH is stoned on the diazepam, it's strong stuff; hopefully it'll take the edge off his worry as well as his pain.

Really hope all is well on the family side too Kitty; everybody just feels awful after an event like that, but you just have to ask yourself- if your SIL accidentally dropped DS, but he was OK, how would you feel about her? I'm sure you'd be doing your best to stop her feeling awful about it all.... so try not to beat yourself up.

Not a good night here- for the first time since he was born, DS has properly woken up in his night sleep period (other than stirring for food, which was just nipple, zonk!), probably cos it's so bloody hot, and he didn't take one of his feeds.
He's crying and not wanting to be put down, so looks like a night in bed with Mummy who'll get sod-all sleep is on the cards...

And we've accepted an invite to a friend's 50th tomorrow- starting at 4, which is perfect, and in her lovely garden, which is even nicer, but I'll probably be falling asleep in the bushes!

Yay new thread...shiny!

lmf I love the word 'defenestrate' I try to use it a lot becaus it is a brilliant word.

Glad he is ok oi they do seem to enjoy worrying us.

Buckets and spades bought, we are off to the beach in the morning. Miri will get her first sea splash, I will hopefully manage to abandon DP with all the children to do some proper swimming!

Report
OiMissus · 25/05/2012 23:04

I'm very jealous of the planned trip to the seaside. (although the last time we went was awful. Stupid girl teens throwing bottles at us in the sand dunes - I was preggers, but not visibly, and we were with my nephew -12. We couldn't do anything.) but forgetting that, paddling in the sea, making sandcastles, ...swimming? In the uk?! Maybe that too!
Have a fab time!

msB it's been a favourite of mine for many years too:o

Tomorrow I will mostly be looking for a stupid hat to help me avoid getting fried this summer. Sunday it's a day out at the annual shindig at the agricultural college. There's falconry this year which should be cool:o

Grrr, just woken up and realised that DP is not yet home from 'dinner' with his brother. Not usually bothered about him getting in late but 4am is pushing it a bit. Can't get back to sleep now Angry

Dh's night shift not gone to plan. Somehow he managed to basically pour the formula all over DS2 rather than get it in his mouth. So there has been much shouting from DS2 as it required full change of clothing. DH now in a strop saying he can't do anything right for his 'unknown' son. I've sent him to the spare room and I hope and pray DS1 sleeps in today as otherwise DH will be in a vile mood all day.

Oh dear Hawthers that doesn't sound like much fun. It doesn't sound like he's feeling too confident, which unfortunatly leaves you sorting everything out.

DP just got in, he woke me up to tell me his feet hurt. He had the really clever idea to walk home, about ten miles down the hard shoulder of thw motorway, idiot!

Moaning post...

Am grumpy. DP is feeling ill so we can't go to the beach. I'm bored of illnesses. Tried to cheer myself up by planning next years holidays but I can't find the info I need and I am not in the mood to ring around French campsites. DP and DD1 have settled in to TV for the day...I want to go and DO something!

Aarrrg. Lousy night despite the weather being much less close: DS fed at 8,11, and then was awake and grumpy from 1.30-3am. So noisy he woke DH, even cosleeping and feeding didn't settle him down. Nor walking/rocking. But he wasn't hot, wasn't orribly distressed, didn't seem ill. Last optiOn was ?teeth/sore throat, so gave him spme neurofen at 3 and he dropped off. Seems fine this morning though a little sleep deficitnt (as am
i). I want the mythical 7pm-7am break now pls!!!

Oh no msb .

paddling pool time perchance?

In other news I have decided to give up on a dozen awful ownbrand breastpads a friend gave to me. This aftenoon's experiment with the DDs is going to be a short lesson in chromatography with breastpads instead of filter paper! (if it weren't for my job and we lived somewhere more rural I'd find the home Ed thing quite interesting I think!)

Sorry about the ruined plans msb.
it's the weekend, the sun is glorious, ...and I'm booked in for a cut n colour at 1:30. :( my hair takes ages, it'll be at least 3 hrs. :( typical!
I mashed up a bit of my fried egg this morning for BOi, he liked the taste very much, but didn't really eat any if the lumpy bits. I was going to buy house porn for the hairdressers, but I really must make a start on the blw recipe book I downloaded to the kindle.
