Marking plaice :)

Well done, Octoboy!

Ds did 7.30-6.50 so that's 3 nights in a row. By usual standards, I'll get one more then he'll chuck a curve ball. Cheeky monkey.

Plan today:

Go to Tesco to buy 3 today balloons, check out the cards and hunt out a 4th birthday gift

Do some hardcore housework as last chance to do any before the weekend

for Octoboy!!!

Morning. Only one long wakeup last night (3.30-4.30) but the DDs woke the baby TWICE by being noisy upstairs, so words will
be required.

Today's jobs are a PTA meeting at my friend's house, and hopefully constructing a mountain of baby puree from the veg I bought yesterday.
Yesterday DS had a tiny morsel of an Ella's Kitchen sweet potato and pumpkin thing (on the grounds that I am not buying an emtire pumpkin for the baby when the rest of us don't eat it. He really enjoyed tasting it and blowing raspberries with it while grinning madly in his "new" highchair. Awwww. Total amount consumed: less than a teaspoon but I'm in no hurry to push it.

Good sleep here too (they must be co-ordinating!) even DD1 was asleep by 10.30pm which is pretty good for her.

However, I seem to have some kind of bug. Was throwing up last night and still feel a bit limp dishrag-y this morning. Original plan was going to the museum, but I'm not feeling up to it really. I'm sure DD1 will want help with the song she is learning for the Children's Cabaret at the home ed festival and might do the park this afternoon if I feel better. Oh, making lasagne too.

BJR laundry mountain attacking here too. Especially as it is windy here and I can actually dry stuff. My life is so glamorous.

Morning! Glad to hear some babas have got the sleeping thing down! Exhausted here, in spite of Vick etc, we had numerous wakeups. Maybe twenty. And she's passed on her bug so I feel rotten. Nursery tomorrow so she can catch sth else and the cycle can continue!!! We are supposed to have baby massage at 10 followed by walk in woods but all I want to do is get back into the bed!!!

Laundry mountain may have to wait, there are now boxes of furniture in my hallway that are actually asking me to open them and start building. I may not be able to resist ...

Marking place morning all

DS woke at 1 had a bottle then slept to 6.30. Dh feeling sorry for himself apparently he's knackered and preferred his life before lo I've told him to stop being so selfish and that lo is so much easier than I thought he would be. I'm going out soon to avoid his self indulgent moping maybe that is unsupportive but he's pissing me right off Angry

Marking my plaice with apologies to Northern for the insensitive bragging yesterday.

Flinging in MrFiggy's direction

Good to see you again plu

Another pressure-filled nursery day for me today as DD had to be dressed as a character from a story book. I have no artistic or sewing skills whatsoever so went on an irritating search for a sodding gruffalo outfit at the weekend. Eventually found one in Early Learning to discover they only do age 3-5 and it was way too big. Fortunately my Mum and her sewing machine came to my rescue at the last minute. She made a skirt from scraps of material, I shoved a headscarf on DD and gave her a duster, and she's gone as pre-godmother Cinderella. No way she's going in a pretty dress to nursery - anything she wears comes home covered in food, mud, paint, sand etc.!

Plans for today are to go to Bumps and Babies at the surestart centre this morning. I haven't been before so thought I'd give it a go. Then DS has swimming this afternoon. I'm really hoping it goes better this week. Last week went all wrong in terms of timings of feeds and naps, plus he was suffering with his teeth, so he screamed throughout and I had to take him out early!

Mashed carrot was a hit with DS. The mix of mashed carrot and milk vomit that came up afterwards, all over my arm and leg, was not a hit with me.

I called the leisure centre and confirmed that they have a place to put prams, so either tomorrow or the weekend I will take DS swimming. I'm stupidly excited about it :)

Hey plu, how are you?

Return to work confirmed as 16 July Sad hope we get some nice weather before then or I'll be mightily peed off!!

DS upped the ante at lunch today: not only did he absorb two teaspoons of sweetcorn mush, he tried to feed himself water quite happily from his sippycup Shock. This is the same sippycup which, when filled with EBM is SuperEvilNonBoobie (TM).

So I think I'll just encourage him with a water-filled sippycup as part of the lunch routine, and shelve Bottles until we need to swap entirely (with the occasional try just in case from Daddy). Life is too short to stress about bottle refusal....(remind me I said that in July when we swap over!!!)

Hiya plu

Hello everyone! EasyBaby is down to just one night feed now, so we're all starting to look a bit more rested! Yeay!

EasyBaby is very jealous of all your fruity purees, I'm a mena horrible mother and only giving him veg (carrots, butternut squash, brocolli etc) for a while in a vain hope of him avoiding inheriting my sweet tooth. I did let him lick a bit of banana earlier, which he seemed to like. He's not speaking to me at the minute though, as we went to messy play and I tortured him by making him stand in a tub of jelly, and then lie in a tub of rice krispies. He was deeply unhappy about it all.

Well done aethelbaby on the sippy cupage! DS just looks at the sippy cup in a slightly bemused fashion.

Sorelip have fun with the swimming! Orange vomit is unpleasant, and an absolute nightmare to wash out of anything (remind me not to buy any more white sleep suits!)
